3.33 in Lidl

I get the Lidl one when this is full price and my reserves have been eaten. I prefer this however. Find the chicken is more tender, a 'butterfly' type cut means it cooks quicker and has more even pieces in the bag. Also find this to have no freezer damaged flesh opposed to Lidls water and often freezer burnt offering. Each to their own though.

This chicken is German in origin and packaging stages, the chicken in your article is not. Potato - Tomato - sounds the same but totally different!

Anyone who thinks that all EU member states properly implement EU standards is extremely naive. Having worked for for many years in UK food manufacturing I can assure you that much of Europe does NOT implement the standards to the same rigorous extent that the UK does. We used to import production equipment from Italy, which was supposed to be fully compliant with European Health and Safety standards, but which was so far from compliant that it was hard to believe. After each delivery we used to have to fully re-equip the guarding and safety systems. As delivered you could simply lift off the guard doors and the equipment would keep running. Standards are only as good as the authorities enforcing them.

Polish chicken may be good, but if so that will not be due to EU standards, rather Polish ones.

I'll echo the above. I tend to buy from musclefood in bulk, but will buy from Aldi if my order doesn't arrive in time. The iceland chicken was pumped full of water and the quality varied quite a bit.

Didn't you mean -The EU is a political and economic union made up of individual FOREIGN nations?
This is a stone cold deal.

Chicken from Poland where there is less regulation on animal welfare and a considerable carbon footprint exporting to the UK.

On a side note, British supermarkets should be supporting British farmers. There really is no excuse to have chicken and beef imported to this country.

Morrisons are really good with this and that's why I choose to spend my money there.

Good price but I found they were so watery and fairly small. Stopped buying meat from certain shops a while back as I'm fortunate enough to work in London at night. Go to Smithfield meat market and pay £16 for 5kg, the quality is so much better.

About the 3 for £5 offer for frozen mini breast fillets.
I ordered these on Monday 6th November. This offer was dated to expire way beyond my delivery date.
Received order today and was charged at the 2 for £6 price.
I phoned Tesco and the price at which I ordered was honoured and a refund given for the difference.
had the displeasure of eating Tesco chicken as i forgot to go to the butcher. It was tough, chewy, barely edible. Was horrific. Never again. 1p for that tripe is not even a bargain

One in the eye for the Tesco groupies who naively believed Tesco was somehow 'superior' to Lidl and Aldi!

One thing which Tesco and other supermarkets do which I think is outrageous is creating these fake farms and putting the name on the labels of their product. For example, Tesco sell chicken marked "produced exclusively by Willow Farms for Tesco". There's no such thing as "Willow Farms" at all it's just a marketing brand. That's just fraudulent and dishonest!!

I sent a complaint to Amazon & got this email back.

Hello there,

This is Lucy from Amazon, I received your email today and will be happy to help.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you've experienced with the Marketplace Seller Equestrian Performance.

We at Amazon.co.uk take pride in our customer service standards and believe that customers who purchase from the Marketplace should be treated with the same degree of service as a customer who's purchased directly from us. Even though your purchase was made from a Seller, we realise that it may influence your decision to visit our website again.

I've forwarded these details to the relevant team for investigation. They'll contact you again if they need any further information.

I'd like to thank you for reporting this matter and assure you it'll be treated with the utmost seriousness.

I hope this helps Serena, have a good weekend
So because they marked it as dispatched (another lie), my payment card has been charged, and I now have to wait to get my money back.

So they have inconvenienced me just because they didn't want to cancel an order that didn't actually need refunding in the first place, because no payment would have been taken until it had been dispatched. Grr.

Not voted either way as this is cheap for chicken breasts, but......I have found that these ones from Aldi are poor quality meat. They can be quite tough when cooked and loads of water (I assume it is water) comes out of them. I find the Tesco healthy eating ones to be about the best ot the 'cheaper' packs. Just my own opinion of course.
Haven't they always been this price? Don't think I've ever paid more than that for these and we get 3 packs every week! Does this simply mean the price is going up from next week?

Yeah, those pics above are from livelean.

Ive gone back to using musclefood. Though I have had the odd blip on burst packs the quality of their chicken is what musclefood say it is. They are well trimmed, no bone or blood, virtually no water loss, and they look like something you'd want to eat!And whilst musclefood CS isn't brilliant the CS from live lean was none existent.

I agree that Muscle Foods chicken is very good; it just tastes like proper lean meat, rather than the chewy tripe you can buy from most supermarkets. Only thing that put us off buying regularly from MF is the delivery fee and the requirement to spend £5 (or close to) on ice packs. It makes each order quite expensive when, for £25, I can buy 5 kilos of good chicken from the butcher up the road.
