Yeee Ring and the like is pricey and then you have subscription costs I think. I'd be happy with a wifi based one without a camera, got them in other places around the house, especially if a burglar takes a shower

Looks great for the price. It's a shame that some of these cheap wireless doorbell systems don't integrate zigbee or z-wave or whatever to connect to ya smart hub too. Heat for this, only 7 left in stock.

It can record if it detects a movement, not just pressing the bell

You've obviously never seen Crimewatch - thieves walked onto a private property with ladders and ripped the cameras off - all whilst being recorded by same. It didn't deter them and of course the resolution was so low that even when they had their face to the camera you couldn't tell who it was...
I can't find the footage I am referring too - however there are plenty of clips on line!

I moved into our property many many years ago and I have never fitted a door bell - don't want cold callers (pretty rife here - despite the legal notice)

Correct, I clearly don't own one, I'm commenting to start a conversation to work out if it has the functions I need that make it worthwhile for me to buy one.

There was a question mark at the end of the sentence, maybe I should have put "you can't save videos to your device right?" excuse my English.

If you read the ensuing conversation, you'll see it had started a conversation amongst some who do own the device. They discuss whether or not you can record without subscription.

Following on from your ... shall I say, rude? comment, I guess you own one of these?
Do you mind sharing if you've passed the free trial period of the subscription yet and if you have, are you able to wake up in the morning to see clips from during the night when it detects motion?

That's how the "miChime" which has no batteries works.Unless they're just describing the more obvious mains powered receivers which obviously don't need batteries? Notice the difference between the wording, the receiver specifies no batteries required. I agree with the above comment very poor doorbell had the same problems as above, phantom ringing then stopped working replaced batteries still nothing. Threw it in the bin.
Good price but i''ve had two of these and they were both poor.

The battery lasts about 6 months (depends on usage obviously)

It lost contact on ocassion so the doorbell just didn't ring.

Also had phantom ringing which must be interference from baby monitors or WiFi or something.

Lastly the door push battery failed under a year too. Although replacement seems to be going strong.

So would recommend you save £2.50
Don't ring the doorbell else you'll wake the wild goose...

Bell is usually £5.99 and usually made by Byron (DB301)

Even though only 1 melody (when bought from Argos) and a low range (30m), they are good value.

Amazon in stock currently (1pm, 10th Jan)

The 1st went faulty within a month of purchase (and the 2nd was returned for bad battery life)...Argos replaced both no question

The latest replacement is the same model/item - but looks "updated" eg has a black rubber seal round the doorbell button. It seems to last longer on battery too

...there's no hidden button on either of mine - just a blank space on the circuit board where the button should be
(although the Byron DB301 "manual" shows the button)
this looks good
Collected ours tonight. The ding-dong part takes 3 AA walkman batteries, the push button part comes with it's own wee fitted battery. It comes with small screws, there's no adhesive strip but I guess you could sort that with a bit of your own DIY creativity if screws are too complex for you lol.

It's a bog standard ding-dong, it chimes twice, there's a high, low or off switch. Ours works fine, took it to the bottom of the
garden about 70 feet and it picked up the signal no problem, it caught the attention of our a neighbour too, must've looked a bit odd, me in wellies and boxers and a t-shirt, standing in the pitch black holding a doorbell lol.

Op ... Great deal, appreciated ... Cheers

edit ... Will investigate these hidden chimes mentioned above !!!
