Bitdefender Total Security
I have been using Bitdefender for over 3 years and it is one of the very best AVs available and now free for 180 days.
It worked on my existing Bitdefender account and extended the licence immediately.

See?. You can comment on something or share an opion relevant to the product without being condescending.
I just clicked on the deal link first and entered my email address and clicked the "i am not a robot" button and nothing happened. I then disabled my adblocker temporarily for the site, did it again and it worked.
Although I did find out i've only got their antivirus installed and not the Total Security for some reason, even though I appear to have licences for both ! (edited)
P.S. Disable your ADblocker before clicking on the green button in their website. (edited)
same. I can't remember when did I buy it last
Been working in Cyber Security for 4 years, IT in total for nearly 15. I use Defender as my sole AV and scan once a month or so with Trend Micro Housecall. Defender is far more advanced than it used to be, in fact most of our customers are switching to Defender from AV such as bitdefender and Sophos.
I have used hotukdeals for many years and never as a registered user. But in order to prevent misinformation I decided to register and reply.
Windows defender works well, only if correctly configured and in a well defended network environment. In real life ransomware has become a global criminal enterprise with state actors like North Korea involved. You must enable folder protection in Windows (which is off by default). Otherwise ransomware like Scarab (very nasty one) are still able to bypass Windows Defender (as recently as tests done in Feb 2021). Note these types of attack do not have to come from your web browsing. They come via any compromised network locations. What is worse, if Windows loses connectivity to the cloud virus database for any reason, Windows Defender becomes practically useless at stopping a number of common, dangerous ransomware and malware. And you only need 1 to succeed to make your digital life truly miserable because they encrypt all your precious photos and documents. This is a major Achilles heel of Windows Defender. Bitdefender does much better in this regard, where losing access to the cloud database is not nearly as disastrous (no protection is perfect). So you are right do not be misled by false ads of tests done in lab perfect conditions. The real world is messy and the reality is in many of these real world situations Windows defender has serious shortcomings in its default settings and provides nearly no protection if it loses connectivity to their cloud database.
Might have to try this code on mine (edited)
Tried it without and neither way is working.
Could do with this, shame its not going for me.
Thanks for tip. Tried 4 browsers and tried on my phone. Tried 2 different emails VPN on VPN off, Ghostery off, nowt.

Bitdefender Total Security

Not for resale
This license will end on 10/8/2021
Total protection for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices.
Aha, that makes sense now. I did wonder why I was seeing Total Security when I didn’t originally have it
I had the I am not a Robot in German, and then a reply in red afterwards again in German
Email support, they extended mine within 5 minutes. I am covered for 6 years on 15 devices.
Thanks for advice, worked once the Adblocker was paused. How did you word your request to extend your licence please ?
If you create new account with new email you will get 6 months
hope it helps someone
I might have some of that actually. I paid about £8 quid for my key for a year's licence so that would definitely be a better deal.
I only need one device as well. i got my key from gamivo but i'm certainly open to somewhere cheaper - pm me if you like
Anonymity doesn't work for many people, this is great advice if you dont want to use a computer online where a browser is required
If you want to use things like the internet then windows defender is not enough
I've never heard of Trend Micro. I've been using malwarebytes and super antispyware for my on demand scans. Would you say that it would be an improvement on one or both?
Work for a company that does everything and constantly seeing the benefits of good anti virus
While I appreciate it is alot better now which I am guilty of, I still see the constant negative of this software never getting the most up to date virus definitions, or not quick enough causing problems
Comparing it to those other for me seems a no contest
So the big thing with defender over most other AVs is the use of behavioural detection rather than signature based which provides protection against zero days.
So therefore definitions, while important for standard viruses, does literally f all against modern fileless malware, custom crafted files, etc.
Trial Defender ATP and sentinel on your hosts and see what your missing.
We are not talking enterprises here. Casual browsing is what 99.99% of HOTUKDeals members will be doing. Phishing and dodgy telephone scam calls are how vast majority of people here would likely lose money. North Korean ransomware is not targeting individual users perusing facebook or HOTUKDeals.
I'd still say Defender and little bit of common sense is enough not to need any other antivirus product for individual user. The fact one of largest and respected antivirus companies in the world was exposed by selling data from literally everything you do on your computer to tech giants shows exactly why people should at least be weary before installing these antiviruses in first place, of course most do not care about privacy anymore so it doesn't concern them. But if you actually value your privacy then it is a question to be asked. (edited)
thank you generous soul.
