Just use your Amazon UK credentials to purchase. Amazon includes everything in the total but be aware of the return policy before buying. Use a fee free card and pay in JPY to save a bit more.

I bought from amazon Japan fine, though that was about a decade ago.

"Want to buy some hand tools" Don't forget that mains voltages in Japan are a little "different" than the rest of the World, 100V or 200V, 50Hz or 60Hz. Depending on the appliance, there could be some issues. (edited)

You do realise hand tools aren't powered

I bought tools from Germany once. Imagine my disappointment when I found out they were made in China.
Would assume your looking something niche if you are going to the bother of getting them from Japan?

If you purchase using Amazon Global it should add any extra fees on for you. I purchased from there before and it's just the same as buying from Amazon UK, just a bit longer to wait. Keep in mind that I think only certain items are eligible for this, and I suspect it's for items sold by Amazon Japan and not 3rd party sellers. (edited)

I bought a game recently, once I logged on with a UK address the prices were updated for UK tax. In any event they should update at the checkout to include shipping and the conversation to GBP (unless you pay in JPY). I think there was a message explaining this at the checkout but I can't remember.

Thanks guys for the fast response. Just want to buy spanners and socket set. I went Amazon japan and registered my details. I don't mind paying in yen as my nationwide credit card does not charge me fees.
Can I use my uk amazon account to buy from amazon japan? (edited)

You can try but I think Amazon Japan requires you to make a separate account (you can use the same email)

Just hope and pray you never have to return anything...

If they are damaged in transit, amazon will for returns. These are quality hand tools, I do not see me returning them back.

I have contacted Amazon Japan customer service about the price increase and they told me it was due to ukVAT. Also was not able to get free shipping as that was for domestic customers.
