Genoa - has anyone been?

Hi all, I am off to Genoa for a long weekend with the husband and our13 year old son. We are planning to watch a football match and visit the Aquarium whilst we are there, but wondered if anyone can recommend anything else to visit/see? We thought about maybe catching the train to one of the neighbouring towns, but would love some advice or recommendations on which to visit!
