New phone; vodafone > fonehouse (voda) but keep my phone number

Posted 17th Jul 2023
Hello All,

I am considering moving phone contract as they are up and want the best deal and a new Samsung phone.

I'm looking at moving form Vodafone to Fonehouse (vodafone) - but of course i want to keep my number.
Is this possible?

I assume i could:
  • order new deal at fonehouse (voda)
  • ask voda for pac
  • move number to lyca
  • wait 24 hours and request pac again
  • move number to fonehouse (voda)

Is this the correct process?
Would i incur any charges on lyca, except the inital setup?
Any restrictions doing this via esim on lyca and fonehouse?

Thanks in advance and have a good Monday!

Yes you can do that with no problems. It’s the correct process. Ideally order one of the cheap SIMs that comes with an allowance and you can at least call text and browse using your own phone number for the couple of days your number is with Lyca for the sake of 40-50p. There would be no additional charge for this.

    Order Asda Mobile free SIM.
    Transfer your number.
    Wait a day.
    Transfer it back.

    Done.

Thanks all... I did try to search for previous, but always good to ask to be sure. And also wanted to know if esim is any different.

    Cheers

Can you not just transfer without a PAC code as Vodafone own both companies - you can with Voxi.

Previously I tried with voxi and they said "failed, pls call your Provider".

But this is Vodafone to Vodafone reseller... So I guess you have to "leave" and "return"
