Quooker or other boiling water taps?

Not a Quooker but my BIL got one of these from Costco which has a tank and they no longer use it as the thing continually keeps heating up the water in the tank which then leaves the hot water tasting funny.

So only advice I can offer is don’t get one with a tank unless you need lots of boiling water but look at something that instantly heats up the water. (edited)

Son's got a Quooker when he moved in about 2 years ago it's been working fine. I was thinking of getting one myself when I saw it at the ideal home show but the funny thing about them is they would either give me free installation or discount without any installation offered so I would have to get someone to install it for me . I argued with them that I was willing to pay for the installation if they gave me a discount. Didn't understand their business model so they lost a customer..... (edited)
