Giro Foray Road Bike Helmet £32.50 Merlin Cycles
Found 30th OctFound 30th Oct
Giro Foray helmet -2018 version. 2017 version is £48 on chain reaction. Rated 9/10 on cycling weekly. Also Giro MIPs Cinder Helmet half price £67.50. https://www.merlincycles.c… Read more

I ordered a Giro MIPs Cinder helmet and the helmet above.., can’t wait to try them-particularly the MIPs helmet.

I have this helmet and I'd recommend it. I would spend the extra for the MIPS version which you can get for £45 on Wiggle

Good deal - I have two of these in other colours. Very comfortable helmet if you have a fat head like me. Only minor downside is the straps are a bit weird and don't sit flat against your face - but you get used to it.

Thanks op, ordered myself one after my last one cracked!

Great deal thanks, ordered for me and my wife

Well, I know I'd rather this happened to my helmet than my head...

You’re absolutely right - I’m the one that’s missing the point (excited)

Ok (party) (party) (party) (party) (party)

I can't speak for Surrey, being a filthy Northerner, but I do know that up here the vast majority of cycle infrastructure, especially in towns and cities, is shockingly badly thought out. A combination of cycle lanes positioned where deliveries are most likely to block them, forcing the cyclist to constantly rejoin the flow of traffic, side-junctions where the through-cyclist is required to give way to traffic joining the road, but the through-motorist does not, endless dreaded "cyclists dismount" signs and sections where you have to dodge pedestrians who aren't interesting in keeping out of the cycle lanes. The result is a higher level of risk of collision and significantly increased journey times. Honestly, it's safer (and quicker) to ride in the flow of traffic than to be constantly joining and leaving the flow and, of course, no less than the cars on the road, cyclists have somewhere to go and don't want to stop every 100yds to give way to cars. That's not to say that there isn't good cycling infrastructure, but the vast majority up here was clearly built by non-cyclists to tick a box on a form somewhere without any consideration as to who might want to use it.

Road tax: hasn't existed since 1936 when it was replaced by VED, and of course not all cars pay this - the most efficient, non-polluting will pay zero and I'm pretty confident that bikes fall into this category. So, arguably, they do pay it at the prevailing rate of zero. Roads are paid for through central taxation and there is no link between VED, fuel tax, insurance tax and road maintenance or development Fuel: Correct, bikes do not use fuel and fuel is taxed predominantly to fill the central exchequer's coffers and partly as an environmental consideration where the most inefficient vehicles pay more, as well as heavy users, so the system is more fair than, say, a flat tax. Based on a consideration of both pollution and wear and tear to the roads, I think it's safe to say that cyclist's cake and coffee are probably correctly not taxed as road fuel duty Insurance: This is a more interesting topic and has some good arguments. Personally, I do have insurance as well as legal cover, but I guess I am very much an exception. I also don't crash into cars, nor do I run red-lights. And as for the last point, have a read of this:

Cold! Picked these up last week for 2.49 from Tesco

They were'nt the only ones

Something really uncomfortable about toddlers' helmets being called "Me2"...although I'm sure the point's been made already. There is/maybe was an independent shop near me called "Isis", years before it became associated with unthinkable deeds. Very unlucky shop owners

My two could do with new helmets, reserved a blue and pink, thanks.

If anyone had bought and changed their minds because of safety, I really need the R2d2 for a project. I’ll pay purchase price plus p&p

Theres a reason they didnt sell and are now on sale they look stupid and your kids will not want to wear them if theyre older than say 7 and if they do wear them they will get bullied

And halloween costumes also conform to safety standards, despite going up in flames. I'm offering advice from experience. The problem is that you can't fit them to their head properly due to the poor adjustments, making them pretty useless. Aside from the Disney helmet, the others are skateboard style helmets and wouldn't be allowed on most Bikeability courses. Feel free to ignore my advice, but personally I prefer my kids to wear proper helmets which fit their heads correctly and provide much better protection

All Tesco cycling helmets conform to EN1078 safety standards.

If you buy this for your kid they're gonna be bullied so bad

My comments seem to get removed for political reasons, so I will just say this... Before you buy this brand, please Google their holding company then make your own choice on whether you want to give them your money.

Nope this one without MIPS. This one yes ;)

This version doesn't have MIPS. The MIPS version starts at £29.99 depending on size and colour combo.
