I have the Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 and its a great card. Combine it with Global Wattman for overclocking and it runs great. I get about 1500mhz and doesnt go over 65-70c on load. Im only thinking of changing where I've bought a G-Sync monitor but ill see how it goes first.

Heat added thanks for the share! Got my GTX 970 more than 4 years ago for 280 and replacing it with this 4 years later and I could even trade in the old card with CEX for 60 pounds meaning its just over 210! Hopefully at least another 4 years with this card! :)

Super tough to answer, the Vega has more potential if you like to tinker.

This or sapphire pulse vega 56 for 248?

The extra 2GB of RAM on the 1070 cards means some games are better on the 1070. There's no definitive X is always better than Y.

This is the best rtx 2060? Really though? Is it actually better than all the dual fan ones? I know its got a big heatsink but its gotta get loud with a single fan?

That's not going to happen unless Nvidia really feel generous... The 2060 are all still priced around £300 despite the launch of the 2060 super so why would the 2070 drop?

Yeah, I'm not sure why people don't like this deal. An asus 2060 rtx got posted a few weeks ago for £287, it's an inferior card, and it still got 400 heat. This is a better model, I think everyone is in Vega 56 fever at the moment haha

I may be mistaken, but I've never seen a verga 56 in the same 'mini' format either. For many, there simply isn't a choice, and this is the cheapest price going?

Tbh I wouldn't compare this to the MSI 56, it's up against the Pulse which is currently £248. The EVGA card is incredibly quiet, it's the best of the 2060s, just as the Pulse is the best of the 56s. I'd still got Vega 56, but it's not an overwhelming choice. I can see why someone who just wants plug and play would enjoy the 2060 EVGA.

Poor price to be fair

absolutely, that's it most obvious weakness! People should definitely take the extra cost of buying the 2 sticks of 8GB into account

Really is a horrendous looking card, heat for the price though

It'll definitely need either 6 or 8 pin as all gtx1060+ and rtx2060+ do. Most likely 8 pin.

Does this need an aux power connection?

True, just pointing it out for anyone who might not be aware.

Well then, how about this set of 1660s for your perusal. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/msi-geforce-gtx-1660-gaming-x/33.html https://www.techpowerup.com/review/zotac-geforce-gtx-1660-twin-fan/33.html And here you go, just to make sure you know it's not 'exotic' a single fan design. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/palit-geforce-gtx-1660-storm-x/33.html 15.3% on that one. This of course relies on your use of the following phrase. "I'd never seen any non exotic oc produce 10-15% gains" 10-15% is fairly common, in general. For the Super 2060, I've seen 5-10% with most clocking in around 5-8%.

Chill out a bit, no need to pick apart words. I only asked as I'd never seen any non-exotic oc produce 10-15% gains, which is why I asked which gpu/test you were referring to.

2060 super gives you 5-10% more ftps than a 1080

Yeah, it's partly down to the mining which meant both AMD and Nvidia have loads of stock of old GPUs so they can't drop the price on these much or it'll encroach on earlier models. That and they're kind of price fixing...

that was a waste of time then

£443! You could’ve gotten a GTX 1080 for that price 3 years ago and it’ll have more performance (shock)

It doesn't make any sense what you just said. if 2060 wont change it's price and 2060SUPER will be 400ish, there is no point or reason to buy the super card because few more quids gives you 2070 which will also receive price reduction after 2070Super release. Reconsider again those pricing levels.

I wouldn't count on it. The latest leaks suggest that the price for the 2060 Super will be $430, and it's pretty much a 1:1 between dollar and pound values these days once you account for VAT. Still plenty of room for the standard 2060s to stay around the £300-350 mark if the Super version is £400 and up.

Super "launch" is just to take attention away from navi. There's a difference between a paper launch and solid availability Ben. Go back to ruining Batman for everyone instead. (mad)

why they selling laptops like this with only 8gb of ram in 2019

Good deal imo

Good Deal. Personally I think i'd spec a Recoil RTX 17 from PC Specialist, 144hz panel. Thinner, better cooling and i can take it without Windows with 16gb RAM for same cost as Dell with 16gb less than this deal. Also has RGB per key mechanical keyboard (not to everyone's taste i agree) Windows Keys cheap as chips and happy to do this but again not for everyone.

Thanks, I'm weighing up whether to upgrade my old HP Probook (not the quietest itself). Quite like the styling on this compared to most gaming and indeed business machines. Another quick q, do the fans run at generally a constant speed or do they keep going up and down every few seconds?

Erm, how exactly did you delid a GPU that doesn’t have an IHS? They’re all already direct die cooled.

Why am I digging deeper? I'm going to offer physical proof to you that there is not going to be as you say a SUBSTANTIAL difference between these 2 cards. I expect the differences in frequency and cooling temps to be worth the £55 price difference. Otherwise like I say, why bother buying the Z over this?. Oh and I am no slouch when it comes to overclocking. Over 15 years building and overclocking Pc's and counting.

LazybeatX Your digging deeper. Stop. The binning procedure is common & public knowledge. NVIDIA themselves have been discussing this recently in public. I already own a Gaming X which in all fairness I have also de-lidded but after owning my first I’d never go back as I’m also an overclocking enthusiast. So I find I gain myself an extra generation of cards doing it this way.

Oh will it, well you won't have to wait long to find out because I've bought one of these, and I also have a Gaming Z 2060 so you will have to wait till next week for the results. But I will make sure to post them for you along with pics to back it up. I will be expecting my gaming Z to overclock substantially more then and make up for the £60 difference that I paid.

Great card for the money. Cuda Cores: 1920, Boost Clock: 1680MHz, GDDR6, 192-bit Memory, Memory Clock: 14000Mhz, Ray Tracing, 3 x DisplayPort, 1 x HDMI, 5 Year Warranty*

Makes sense :) On pricing, as a consumer I always want good value of course, but I think there is (just about!) still added value to the GeForce brand so nvidia are probably priced right for the current market with the 1660ti at around £250, 2060 around £300 and a decent (circa 1800Mhz) 2060OC for around £350. The 2060OC is faster than the 1070ti and they are circa £400 to £500. Unless someone is desperate for a new card then it's def smart to wait but I don't think current cards will get a price drop unless/until Navi proves to be much better value for money (we hoped Vega would be great and they just weren't.)

Sound advice, I'm just greedy! Actually, I'm going to play some of the older games till Navi and RTX super are properly out. Still not happy with how much prices have inflated... the RTX 2060 should be less than £250 really...

Cheers. The 970 is a good card, if I had one I'd personally try tweaking game settings for now and wait for the wave of cards to release before upgrading; and hey it's summer - swap PC gaming for getting out n about if you can :) You've probably tried all this but just in case: Use fullscreen, lower game res to 1080p, make sure you're not rendering in an nvidia DSR res, and/or turn down some AA settings, or let GeForce Experience decide (might make it worse lol!)... just my 10p worth

Just want to say I concur except I'm finding that 970s 4GB VRAM is hitting a wall with BF V and tanking a bit. Otherwise an absolute trooper for a near 5 year old graphics card!

Nope, Zotac is not related to Sapphire. They are a sister company of Inno 3D and Manli which are more prominent in the east, with Zotac focusing on the west.

Yeh £210 to be exact. I think it could be the one but very difficult to tell as there are so few reviews for it (a few for the 1650 though). At any point have I said it isn’t? I already said in my previous comment that it’s ridiculous. Doesn’t make your comment any less stupid.

Agree charging $999 for a stand does sound pathetic.

Key part is surely 'Why would someone who sees the Apple Pro Display as a worthwhile investment think'

What a pointless comparison. Why would someone who sees the Apple Pro Display as a worthwhile investment think ‘hmmm, do I buy a stand for my $5000 Apple Pro Display or do I buy a random $1200 windows laptop that I have absolutely no use or need for? I think £1000 for a stand is ridiculous as well but you’re literally comparing apples to oranges. The people that can afford an Apple Pro Display likely won’t mind splashing £1,000 on a stand. It’s like saying ‘I can’t believe someone would spend £XXX on a fridge when they could get a washing machine for that money’.

Is this a “Gaming X” variation? I.e. does it use the superior die/bin chips? After going for a gaming x card last time I can’t go back now. No reviews on youtube for comparison yet (Laptop) but prices getting lower.Just a £5 difference today on box.co.uk for example (2060 cheaper) although the RTX 2060 is with I5 not i7 CPU. No reviews anywhere for these latest HP Omen laptops so we can see how well and how cool they actually run. I am going to wait for another few models and reviews to appear before jumping in. The i7-9750H CPU supports the new wifi 6 so a nice bonus.

This i5 has hyperthreading, it's basically a slight upgrade over the i7-7700HQ

I think you'd be better off with the 2060 and an i5. Most games aren't cpu bound.

How does the RTX 2060 compare to the new GTX 1660 Ti? As the Omen with the GTX 1660 Ti is only £50 more and has an i7 9th Gen

The cpu I wouldn't worry about; it's rarely crucial, but you make a good point about the 1070 prices floating around.

Posted 16th MayPosted 16th May

The Zotac has some good reviews. Suppose to be one of the quietest

£300 and I’d take the plunge. Despite me just sinking £800 into a new motherboard, cpu/fan & mem. This would be a nice addition. Looks like a hell of a big card though.

It's not better but it is cheaper. It won't touch the build quality of Asus though.
