Best place to sell tech

Posted 26th May 2023
Hi all. Where is the best place to sell or maybe trade in old tech such as an iPad air 2020, mobile phones, consoles, etc?
I used to use the bay of E but it's full of "buyers" that win auctions and don't even bother to respond to communications, let alone pay for anything?

There must be some reputable site out there that I don't know about?

Thanks in advance ❤️

Probably sold & brought about 1000 things on ebay. Many in the £100-£800 mark.

I have only had about 3 or 4 issues & all but one of them has been with me buying.

So long as you are 100% honest on the description normally it goes absolutely fine.

I've never had problems on eBay but I do only use Buy It Now listings, never auctions. I do "reverse auctions" lowering my price over time.

eBay - buy it now only, don't bother with auctions, price it the cheapest of the buy it nows for that item / condition.
    Send it tracked.
About 1 in 200 fraudulent buyers in my experience and eBay eventually sorted.

Currently had the opposite on eBay, recently winning bidder for two separate items and neither seller sent them plus no response whatsoever from either seller, I'm guessing the price didn't get high enough, not an issue as obviously payment refunded but just irritating.

Put on zero / low feedback bidder settings on eBay and that will weed out a lot of the mess

only just this week I was selling an item and a series of zero feedback bidders kept bidding and the same with the next auction closing for the same item

luckily someone with 500+ outbid them at the last minute but the other one closed as a zero feedback winner and having mailed the seller to tell them what was going on he said the winner hadn’t paid (probably a good thing) so eBay showed me the settings to block them

Music magpie actually bought my old iPhone off me for £50 more than I could have got it for on the bay of e or the cex shop (edited)

Thanks guys, I will have a look into the bay of E route again ensuring to set things up in my favour this time.
Truly great community in here for consumer advice.
