Mam bottles are hands down the best we came across.

cheap but cheap quality bottles

Congratulations!! I’m in the same boat but having a boy instead :3

Great find. We've just found out we're having a girl and there has been much debate over which bottles we should get. These have been on my list for a little while now and are worth the punt at a tenner I think!

Invest a little bit more and get yourselves Dr Brown bottles.

AC215 is the same price on Amazon -

Thank you, yes will do that, shame at costs for car seats when he only gets his kid 1 day a week for now :/

The Harmony only rf to 10kg so not worth it... keep in infant carrier until outgrown and then buy an extended rear facing seat.

Tommee tippee bottles are my favourite!!! my son suffered absolutely no colic

Tommee tippee bottles are my favourite!!! my on suffered absolutely no colic

Never ever had a problem with tommee tippee products and used them for both my children and just got more products for the next. Wouldn’t buy the prep machine as I don’t see the point, plus issues with mould etc but again that is down to users to clean correctly. It’s a great price for these bottles, regardless of personal opinion on the product it’s still a bargain price and worth it for some :)

Clean a prep machine properly, no problem. Bottles leak? User error. So yeah, take them off the market sounds about right. Good price for these, though they're the anti colic type and need a bit of extra care when cleaning.

Tommee Tippee should be taken of the market for its lack of knowlegde about everything to do with babys. They prep machines are danger to use, they botlles are leaking etc... for some reason everybody start with this brand and quick relase that its absolutely useless.

Should have mentioned at the time the Pearl was one of the few options rear facing to 4/yo. Hence the 2way base and then Pearl made sense. (Ironically car sickness meant we had to switch her forward facing in any case :/ ) Things have changed now and the 2way base is relatively expensive. So you might want to consider just getting the standard base and grabbing whatever’s on offer in a years time

Ok get advice on this one. I wouldn't buy the maxi Cosi set up. The pearl will not allow you to rear face to the maximum. Contact these guys to find out what will fit in your car. Most people want a stroller by the time baby is 8/9 mths old as easy fold and easy on your back! The Joie seats are lovely as are the diono. Mothercare etc will always recommend maxi Cosi tho. They don't have the knowledge in car safety centre do. 😁

Clothes in sales are a good idea. Mrs buys a lot in end of season sales for the following season. Don’t think she saves money mind, just ends up buying more and better quality :D We got a Quinny travel system, so ended up with the pebble (they are Maxi Cosy brand). Then got the 2 way fix base and later got the pearl. Quite happy with the Pebble/Pearl. But if I did it again probably wouldn’t have bothered with the big expensive travel system. It’s not even the cost, everyone will bang on about the convenience (take car seat, stick it straight on the pram etc), but they don’t mention the inconvenience of a big heavy pram. If I was doing it again I’d just get one of those mini prams I see people wondering around with. Worst case if I needed a travel system, I’d get the smallest/lightest one possible :)

Thanks for your advice! We're expecting our 1st. I've taken advantage of the sales. Have managed to get some bargains but am weary of buying too much that I may not need. I am hoping to breast feed too, have bought some bottles as I thought it'd be nice for OH if I can express. I got an absolute bargain though, £4.90 for 2 bottles, cleaning brush & microwave steriliser. I then bought 4 extra bottles from Argos for £12.99. I decided on the munchkin latch ones as they're supposed to be good for people that breast feed & are anti colic as standard. Although, I've just realised that they don't make a breast pump to fit onto the bottles!! I was tempted to buy a nappy bin but my colleagues told me not to bother with one. It's so hard to know what I'll actually need & what just looks good but won't be used! I'm currently looking at carseat's. Who know they were so expensive?! I'm got a icandy peach all terrain pram and getting a good carseat that will click onto it is a mine field as I want to also be able to use ISO fix & they're a blooming racket!! It's seeming like my best solution is to buy the 1st 2 stages + the ISO fix now even though I won't need the stage 2 for a while. John Lewis have to maxi cozi pebble plus & pearl (stage 2) with the combination iso fix for £499... But that's a lot to pay up all at once on top of everything else! Which carseat have you gone for please? SORRY ITS ENDED UP SO LONG!!

Mrs got one of those bottle prep kits as it was on sale, then she ended up breast feeding (bottle prep kit is still in the box :/ ). These days they give you the hard sell on beast feeding. Although the Mrs found breastfeeding hard to start with, she eventually felt it was easier then faffing around sterilising bottles etc. My advice is stock up on nappies, bum cream and other essentials when they’re on offer. A few clothes, good idea to buy in sales for following year. And get a very good car seat. Travel systems are good, but try to resist going overboard. I (and my back in particular) looked very enviously at the mini travel systems others had :/ Everything non essential you’ll find which you need and which you don’t. And the trip to a shops is a good excuse to get out of the house :)
