The Forerunner 35 is a decent entry level Garmin has smart notifications as well. Has Heart Rate monitor though I’m sure people will say it’s not accurate as they always do! I can… Read more

Yeah that's defo a good price.

The strict budget doesn't need to be an issue 8) ..... If you're thinking about going for a brand new FR35 at this price, well worth comparing/considering the FR45 'customer return' for less money - https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/garmin-forerunner-45-gps-42mm-case-watch-black-refurbished-ps6439-with-code-at-gpsgadgets-ebay-3711804#comment-44646728 (2 left)

Decent little run watch that does the basics fine (ie tracks your runs with GPS +heart rate!) and uses the very good Garmin connect app. Has been cheaper in the past though, and if you can afford to step up to a Garmin 45 you'll get a much nicer looking device with newer hardware and useful additions. Still if you're on a strict budget then go for it.

Best price I've seen it at. The 645 music is an older model, but still a decent watch and a decent price

Got this last October as upgrade to 235. Only a runner with some Cycling and this watch is perfect for me and not had any issues apart from syncing music but that's me and doing it the old fashioned way. My was set to Glonass initially and noticed tracking issues straight away. Changed to GPS and galileo and been fine. I have run all distances up to 40 miles and watch lasted over 10 hrs tracking and still had 18% left. I did changed one of the energy settings for this long race to 10s tracking as it doesn't matter for long runs. Music side is great once it's on watch and not had any Bluetooth issues. I've had a software update about a month ago but not sure if feature or just bug update. For running and basic activities it's a steal at the price. Yeah if you want everything modern and future proof get the newer models especially if a specific function is a deal breaker. As mentioned above the NFC function is great to run into shop grab drink and quickly pay and get going again. It's so much better for me than the 235 and as long as battery holds up no need to change yet.

Darkranger

Yep, that's the place. Though it appears they have gone up by £80 in the last 2 weeks. Worth keeping an eye on the price, as mine is immaculate.

Thank you. It is indeed Forerunner 45. The app was right. Not sure why the seller listed it as 45S then. Is there any downside to 45 compared to 45S though, other than the bigger dial size? P.S.: I had a look at the pictures of both 45S & 45 on the Garmin website. The watch I have received has a "Red Start/Stop" button like 45S, and not like the "Green Start/Stop" 45 has. Even more confused now! (lol) https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/p/682416/pn/010-02156-12

@morgie @beatlesun & others: I ordered a Forerunner 45S from this seller, as I prefer the small dial of 45S compared to the bigger dial on 45. When I conneted the watch to Garmin connect, it recognises the watch as 45 and not as 45S. Is there a way to find out which watch is it: 45 or 45S? Thanks.

beatlesun

One might be what I returned. Works OK for the time... Anything else it locks up. 😁

My mistake - I missed that it included the HR monitor. Agreed in that case - a pretty good deal!

stevos9

Looks like the HRM are going for between £45 - £50 on ebay so if I sell it looking at around £150 for the watch so not a bad deal!

sgw22

I second that. Just waiting for a deal before grabbing one. :) In terms of this watch, I bought this almost a year ago for £178 so this does seem a bit high. That said, I have no regrets buying the watch - am happy with it!

rocksm91

I'm a Garmin fanboy but there's no way I'd pay £200 for five year old technology.

plewis00

It wasn't because at the time the 920XT was out and the 935 and Fenix 3 arrived shortly after - the 900 and Fenix 3 series have always been the top triathlon watches because they had this key feature. My friend did the same course as me on the 735XT and it calculated about half the ascent it should have done. Fenix 5 series then (not Plus due to cost) or even the Fenix 3.

Agree, for those that need the pro hrm and are training for tri this is hard to beat as a training device.

This watch is for people who take sport seriously, so with the HR strap this is actually a pretty good deal. If you just want the watch, you can get it for £320 with TOTUM discount
