Thanks for feedback.Mine is still delayed at barking depot.Another failed delivery date come and gone.Ordered a Dell G5 SE from outlet last night so may just end up cancelling the MSI model as I got a great deal from outlet and a new BIOS update has sorted temp issues on the G5 SE.

Apologies for the delay in replying. Yeah I'm really pleased wit it. To right click I feel like you have to be at the very bottom right of the pad but that won't bother me as 99% of the time I'll be using a mouse anyway. Battery doesn't last anywhere near as long as my Acer Aspire 5 but I expected this due to the higher performance. Ran a battery report and it's pretty much 100% capacity still. Screen seems decent, possibly a very very minor bit of screen bleeding in bottom left. Other than on start up screen can't say I've noticed it so not too worried about this. I haven't took the back off yet but I from a quick look I think there's a single 8gb stick in. I think I'll probably just stick another 8gb in beside it. From what I read online I believe a second SSD can be installed but not checked. Build quality is fine but think my older Acer was a bit better. I've managed to sell my old Acer for £50 more than I paid for it from Currys PC World eBay Outlet last April! :) Hopefully you've received yours now anyway!

Hmm.. interesting.. i wonder if i downloaded the wrong PDF. I'll open it up when I get a chance and have a proper look.

Ok thanks for feedback, just had an email from MSI support earlier saying i could add an additional SSD (sata) so a little confused now but spec sheet on MSI says "1 x 2.5“ HDD + 1 x NVMe M.2 SSD by PCIe Gen3 / SATA-SSD Combo Slot" so may take a chance on the amazon 2TB SSD deal posted recently and can always return if not compatible. Only thing MSI could not help with was the screen so unable to find out nits/ colour accuracy etc. Why they do not include this in their official spec sheet is baffling and frustrating.

MrChicken

Mainly happy but a couple of points: There's no way to fit an 2.5 SSD so I will upgrade to 1GB or maybe even 2GB The right & left mouse buttons are built into the track pad but I prefer separate physical buttons Also the screen bezel is not tight to the screen. Not sure if that's to do with the refurb or just how they are. I've downloaded the manual but not been inside.

Am I really behind the times lol (embarrassed)

It makes a lot of difference in fast paced games. The Lenovo Legions run rings round this for value, and then this is only a Pavilion not their full-blown Omen series. Also only a Max-Q GPU and display could be brighter with wider colour gamut. Not terrible if you like the brand and design but not amazing value either.

maltloaf_df

My phone is 120Hz, my laptop is 144Hz and my pc screen is soon to be 144Hz. Yes, seriously.

Uby_Nabi786

Seriously? I thought 60hz was more than enough as that's basically the refresh rate of most screens we use

Very has always been good for me too, not had an issue with them, yeah it is a good deal for the price

markdods

I know people are not keen on Very but I've never had an issue. Didn't think that was a bad deal once credit applied.

Seems a decent price for the spec, not sure of build quality or the screen brightness in nits, but the 16gb ram, 512gb ssd and a GTX 1660TI seems lovely for 799 with a 3 year warra… Read more

Not a great deal considering there's a Lenovo legion 5i with a 2060 and i5 10300h with 16 GB and 512 ssd for around 740

dini2k2

Hduk commenters: has 16gb...must find something else to moan about!

Markoffski63

I don't know if it's Aldi or Medion but you can never get the (full) specification sheet on the sales page, that's enough to make me not buy one, if I'm going to spend £800 on a laptop I would want to know as much technically about it as I can, on the sales site, without having to go on a spec hunt around the place, but that's been my experience of Aldi I'm afraid, great store, great products (on the whole), but lousy marketing and product info. This is still a good deal though op.

Rather odd specification pairing a next gen CPU with a GPU from 2 generations ago.

Darkraiser

Why didn't they put it 3070 that would've been perfect

Gaurav_Bhatnagar

The processor seems nice though. For someone with not too high gaming needs and portability requirements, this might be perfect.

Do you think I can find a deal like this in future or should I snap it up right now for £830? I really need a new laptop but I can wait a month extra MAX.

ToxicHazard

Code has expired, just code SBEANS70 Instead now (y) that takes it to £830 now though unfortunately

A_Eagle96

Has this deal expired? I have tried to click on the link and entered my student account but the discount is only 10%. Whenever i enter LENOVOESAVE it says this coupon is expired.

JustExtreme

I've been looking into these and found that there are 5P and 5(non-P) variants that feature the 2060. The 5P doesn't have a webcam which seems the main difference. Neither are available from Lenovo directly at the moment, though.

Jack_Bower

Thank you everyone for your inputs, I ordered one of these yesterday :)
