The old 500 g box of Shreddies before the pound tanked was regularly on offer for £1 (and very occasionally less). Now with shrinkflation they're effectively £1.20. That's twenty percent inflation. Good job my salary went up 20% (not).

rowan438

Lidl ones don't really taste at all. The only taste I ever got from them was something I could only describe as cardboard-like flavour. Aldi own brand are much better, but I still prefer Shreddies.

TwistedNerve

prefer Tesco's own at £1.30 for 750g to Shreddies

Pennywise999

Thanks for letting me know, will check out the local Aldi for a bargain :)

It is not rip-off Britain, it is version 2 from 2000 onwards --> "they-are -in-it-for-themselves Britain". Back to topic, depends on products in Lidl and Aldi, some branded products have better ingredients, and some branded products have worse ingredients , e.g. cocoa powder contents for drinks where brands have just ~20% cocoa solids (so you pay the £2-£3 for sugar and milk powder). Brands have bigger nuts for salted snack peanuts, Aldi/Lidl cheaper Adam, Emmental, Gouda etc..

Put savings in (make £1 by putting in £20) add another 5% off your food (means Iceland borrows less money from bank to run their business so they pass saving to you - with a return of 5% instantly or several months on average, this is far superior than you putting savings in a bank).

Cinnamon bites need some 'dust' on the outside, I was underwhelmed. I've got 5 boxes.

laceyjaynewilliams

I could eat a whole box of these in one sitting

PizzaTheHutt.

Haven't had these in forever I remember as a kid they'd even NBA stuff on them, despite NBA not really being popular here.. I think it was the time of Michael Jordan. Did they change the name? sure they were called cinnamon grahams.

Gollywood

Congratulations. I'm relieved my name suggestion was overlooked XD

Gollywood

Amen to that! Can't handle the cinnamon but the Golden Grahams..... <3

Too nice :(

dagghand

Been buying these for a while from my local heron. Fast became one of my favourite sugary treats! They're incredibly good (embarrassed) HEAT

DanCar2

It could be Gypsy Tart you are thinking of.

cheztaz

YEs that sounds like it but the fudge looks a lot darker. I am sure someone told me it could be made with this instead of a fudge recipe. I could be wrong Thank you

MandyHope

cheztaz: I am sure this used to be used in the old school fudge tart. Sweet pastry base with a creamy light fudge filling and grated chocolate on the top. One of my favourites! You're remembering Toffee Cream Tart Its easy to make but doesn't contain this. https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1619637/toffee-cream-tart Enjoy!!!

baniel.durnell

Wow, I didn't know that, this post has taken a dark turn! (shock)

Te.Bheag

Hi I will do in the morning as the book is in her bedroom. Not tried it yet so not sure what its like. An easy edible but very sticky one is melting 10 marshmallows in microwave checking every 10 secs them sprinkle with a little mix of icing sugar and cornflower not to much or receipe goes hard my daughter enjoyed that one.
