ChatGpt which app?

Posted 9th May 2023
As a total novice user I thought I would download ChatGpt on my phone but hang on there are several of these in Google Play. I would like to use a free one that does not have constant adverts.
Can someone please recommend one for me to try?

Thanks

Don't download an app. Just go to the website.

Apart from constructing student essays, are there any other day-to-day uses for chatGPT that anyone has discovered to be useful?

I use it all the time and find it really useful and have it installed on multiple devices. I actually got slightly annoyed at my google home hub in kitchen when I asked it something and it came back with a load of random results after using the ai quite heavily one week What's great too is that you can constantly refine results and the more you use it, the better you get at wording your queries and then refining answers.

But I use it for for a range of things - more complex code formula in spreadsheets, grammer checks, suggestions for activities, advice, for definitions and explanations etc.

Remember though, it's data was last updated in 2021, so it's also worth considering comparing results to Google Bard which has access to current data:

For mobile I've added a browser link so it displays as a one click icon on homescreen. ChatGPT expains best how to do this

To add a link to ChatGPT on the homescreen of your Android device, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open your mobile web browser and navigate to the ChatGPT website.
    2. Tap the three dots icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
    3. Select "Add to Home Screen" from the drop-down menu.
    4. You will be prompted to enter a name for the shortcut. Type "ChatGPT" or any name you prefer.
    5. Tap "Add" to confirm and add the shortcut to your homescreen.

Now you can simply tap the ChatGPT icon on your homescreen to open the website in your mobile browser.
