Which clutch kit? & Can you recommend a mechanic?

Posted 21st May 2023
Hi,
Does anyone recommend an honest, reliable mechanic or a mobile mechanic around Dudley or West Midlands for a clutch change.

And,
Would you chose a LUK or an Expedy clutch?

Thank you

Luk, Sachs or Valeo are the only clutches I'd buy.

LUK, Borg and Beck are good clutches, Transmech are one clutch kit I wouldn't recommend.
When buying a clutch kit make sure it's a 3 piece kit which comprises of pressure plate, friction plate and release bearing, it's not worth buying a 2 piece kit to save a few pounds and then having the old release bearing fail a few months later and paying again to have the gearbox removed again.

I've used A1 clutches and would go back. Great service.

A1 clutches as above. It will be in and out within a day. Or try whocanfixmycar.
I have used A1 before and they where very good. Used another garage too which was £70 cheaper at the time but the car was there for a week which wasn't worth all the hassle in the end.

Bridge Street Service Station, Halesowen, B629JJ are excellent and not too far from you. That's the only place I take my car for repairs
