that is an interesting link. a little long but i found the first few minutes chat with the trichologist very informative about how hair is made up and why we all have different hair type.
Olaplex 100% does work and makes a massive difference
Viviscal supplements worked for me. so expensive to keep those up however (edited)
What are you trying to achieve? A lot also depends on your own skin & hair type. Plus don't ignore the underlying nutritional requirements.

My hair has thinned considerably, and now won't grow past a certain length. So rewinding the hair clock to 19 would be nice - get it to grow and get thicker again l, can't help thinking a magic shampoo couldn't work surely ..but lose hope not
Shortest answer - yes.

Which worked for you?!
I swear by Superdrug's Trichology Shampoo. Great stuff and cheap. Used to buy The Body Shop's Ginger Shampoo but I find Trichology better
I do find that different shampoo changes the volume of my hair. I also find that if I alternate shampoo brands between washes, it helps to stop my hair looking flat. I use elvive repairing shampoo and head and shoulder. The elvive shampoo gives my hair a soft shine whereas the head and shoulder shampoo makes my hair look dry. So I do find different shampoo will have different effects on your hair.
I use mainly the elvive but every so often, I will use the head and shoulder and give my hair a rest from the repairing shampoo as I find my hair looks flat if I don't use the head and shoulder every now and then.
I also find the head and shoulder shampoo means more hair on my hair brush than the repairing shampoo.
I have also found recently, following discussions about me getting an expensive hairdryer, the dyson, that if I wrap my hair in a towel and sit with the towel on my hair for 30 minutes after a wash before I blow dry my hair, my hair has more volume as I think the heat from the hair dryer damages your hair or makes it feel dead, so drying it with a wrapped towel first seems to work better as I don't need to spend so much time with the hair dryer on my hair.
I find that if you put a little bit of wella shockwave gel on a comb and apply that to your hair lightly, it can give it volume through the styling as it keeps the hair strands standing up a bit and so give the effect of you having more hair, that is, volume. (edited)
