Laptop for uni around £300

My son has a chromebook but will need windows os for uni. Is there anything half decent for around £300?
Will just be mainly office applications and the usual Netflix/YouTube consumption.

I'm going to recommend a second hand ThinkPad. Something like an X390, 395, or T490 or T495 can be had for £200-300 with much better specs* and build quality than a new equivalent.

*RAM, Storage, secondary features eg webcam. Processor will be several generations old. (edited)
