Posted 27th Mar 2023
Hi
everyone hopefully someone can help how knows at more about OLED TVs than me

I’m looking to upgrade my 5 year old Sony led to a new 55 inch Oled

I’m pretty open on budget to an extent
ideally around £1500 but will to go higher for the right tv
I’ve narrowed down a few the

Panasonic TX-55LZ2000B has been on offer around £1600 in the last few months
or the Lz1500 or even the LZ1000 which £1100 at the moment
My other choices where the SONY XR-55A80KU at £1199
or think stuff and go for the SONY XR-55A95K at £2099

any pointers would be great thanks

we mainly watch movies weekend evenings

I know everyone mainly on here are fans of the LG I’m just not

If you can afford the A95K then go for that as it uses QD-OLED panel so it’s brighter. Otherwise go for the Panasonic LZ2000 as it not far behind the Sony. Maybe the Panasonic LZ1500 without the upgraded sound system built in.

So first choice Sony A95K, then Panasonic LZ2000 and then Panasonic LZ1500.

But if you just want to spend £1500 then Panasonic LZ1500 from John Lewis. It’s a belter of a TV and superior to LG for picture quality. (edited)

Yeah was thinking if I could get Panasonic Lz2000 for around £1600 that would save me upgrading my sound bar
but the Sony A95K is still very tempting
as I usual keep a tv for around 7 years
only had my current fit just under 5 as it was a warranty replacement

I know for some reason you've written off LG but someone has posted the 55G2 at Crampton & Moore for £1150.

Think you won't beat that for the money tbh and from a decent retailer. (edited)

Yeah a shame it doesn’t come with a table top stand as I’ve have to put the tv in the corner of the room

I would save some money and go for a lg c1 or c2. Oleds are the best no doubt but do suffer from burn in. The brighter the screen the increased risk. The lg offers the best compromise and the whole brightness thing is a nonsense anyway unless you are watching in a conservatory . I have 2 Oleds a cx and c2 and have brightness on 60% on both.

The Panasonics have all dropped in price this morning
    55inch Lz1000 £999
    or the flagship Lz2000 £1699
so makes the pricing a lot closer to the Lgs
