This deal is showing £449 can you please confirm where it is £399
This is showing as £449, where is it £399?
As good a camera as you'll ever need...
Not sure I am serious enough a photographer to put down £700 on a lens!
Ahh ok. That's a decent price then, paid £499 for this back in December 2016 and it's an excellent pocket camera.
Just had my 'deals' booklet through and it is including VAT. And there was me about to buy the mark , now I've got to spend even more!!!
Is this the pre VAT price or VAT included?
luckily its just a picture nothing to do with costco they only have the mk3 on their site
Same link as this deal - the A7 body. Looks like they've gone now, though. Might be one back up at some point, though... not entirely sure if I want to make the FF transition...
More used ones from Amazon warehosue for £412 and £436 now
It is called Brexit effect.
It's easy, there is no competition.
Is a samsung wb31f comparable to the op camera? I have no interest in cameras on phones just looking for a reasonable camera for taking snaps of birds in my garden and maybe the occasional bug or two so I can zoom in later to see them up close. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Just curious, how much did your phone cost and what is it? serious question.
Yes the TZ-100 as mentioned is one of the best along with the sony rx100m3. Periodically with cashback promos you can buy these for less than £400. This is not quite as powerful a camera as these but was still a good deal https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/canon-powershot-sx720-hs-superzoom-compact-camera-travel-kit-198-currys-2903117 All about needs and budget I suppose... and waiting for a deal.
Only if you can't afford £500 for a phone and require a camera, it would be worth paying a little bit more for something better though. "Struggles in low light, poor video quality, ease of use niggles, imprecise zoom This is a disappointing camera that fails in too many areas. Picture quality is below par and video quality is poor" Should I buy it? No - there are far better cameras at a similar price. Take a look at the Nikon Coolpix S7000 as an alternative - it's a much better option if you're on a limited budget.
I agree. I'm just looking for a use case for one of these compact cameras for people who carry a £500 phone all the time.
Yet another iteration of the same old 16mp oly sensor . As OP says there are quite a few same old same old . . . I have the 2012 e-pl5 which I guess is pretty much the same See dxomark https://www.dxomark.com/cameras/brand-olympus/launched-between-2012-and-2018/launch_price-from-0-to-45200-usd/sensor_format-sensor_micro43#hideAdvancedOptions=false&viewMode=list&yDataType=rankDxo
It was actually a geeky joke on the 404 price... Oh wells
Here you are: http://bfy.tw/H2II
HTTP 404 Not Found (cheeky)
Got two of these (because I thought I'd somehow lost the first), and I paid full whack both times and was still happy with them. They're quite spacious though- I got mine for a m4/3 camera, and though it's a relatively tight fit, I think most point-and-shoot compacts would be rattling around a bit.
nice find, oos at my local Argos
Thank you, got 2 reserved
Great price, heat! Looks like a nice little compact.
Yea you are right, probably a grey Import also, so next best price is £278. Looks like this has been superseded by the SX730, only difference appears to be a swivel screen, but costs £320.
3rd party, not amazon
Yep, very hot price....if I didn't have a sony hx60v and a sony hx400v I'd be all over this.....love a big zoom!!! Heated up and thanks for posting (y)
£249 at Amazon, seems next best price (without the travel kit). https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B01C2QIS9O/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
I see Wex have matched this price now online, maybe the new RRP from Panasonic for the TZ100 although all others are still £525 or so but a lot of retailers have no stock which made me question whether or not it will still be produced. TZ200 still on preorder, phoned local Wex and they are still awaiting stock, but all online stores are £725 preorder. Can't justify the extra for a longer zoom and a s you say a few minor updates.
they are surely going to have both models going at the same time - tz100 highest price on amazon since introduction was 550 so its not even come down much in 2 years if it tz200 really does sell for 729 and tz100 cease to exist thats a massive amount of customers lost imo as a whole new price level for what is basically a jump in zoom and very very minor updates otherwise
This or wait for the Z200 (RRP £720 thou) :/ I wonder will the Z100 still be produced or will the Z200 completely replace it. If the Z100 goes sub £400 I'll buy 8) Nice deal anyway, cheapest price at present, heat added (highfive)
as said above - they didn't 'go back' they kept the 30x zoom range with smaller sensor and made more of them after tz100 was released (including your tz80 and the newer tz90) thats not abandoning it to those that want it - its a parallel range the similar naming is pretty stupid though
Brilliant camera. The zoom is only at 10x as the sensor is so much larger than most travel zooms. Bigger sensors need bigger lenses. 20x digital still looks really good on this.
Better than expected maybe, but you're never going to take a good low light shot with this size aperture and a fill-in flash. The superzoom is the main feature of this camera i.e. where most of the cost is focused (no pun intended). If the zoom isn't of interest for most of your work, then you're paying for something you don't need and compromising on what you do.
Oh. And added bonus, download Sony memories app and connect to WiFi wherever you are and photos go straight to your phone via Nfc... (don't care what anyone says, a camera will take a way better pic than a phone... Wife uses FB to upload etc
Beg to differ... Used for party's inside and out and much better than I expected... Now binned the big clumsy canon in favour of this, goes in pocket too... Happy daysssssss 😁
Think about what you want to mainly use it for. These are great for travel photography e.g. mainly outdoor scenes, but if you want to use it for parties and indoor events it will struggle.
I am on the look out for a compact camera too. Can't believe this is 3yrs old...
hmmm if you can live with the brown id go for the gx80 at JL which ends up at 299 over this one this a good camera but isn't cheap enough to be a bargain
How would this compare to a Canon 700D for video quality? I'm struggling to get lighting to look natural with the Canon.
Here you go dave
Received £100 today 😁
Thanks Ash. Judging by that I should hear something in the next couple of days hopefully!
Hi adsham, I submitted on 02nd March and PayPal received on 14th March. Hope that helps! Ash
Great, well done. When did you submit your claim out of interest? Just checked my emails and I did mine on March 5. Thanks in advance!

Item is now £12.79 on another Lightning deal! I’ve updated the deal price. If you’re going to get it, get it quick. I’ve requested a return in June and have re-purchased at the lower price. Better in my pocket!
tbf your charger (which comes without batteries) is a very different device it seems to require a higher power source ie mains or car charger and so should be expected to have a higher power and charge speed. not as versatile though your currents are at the higher charge speed (selectable) which is more likely to cause battery wear. the low setting isn't so far off these
Same price for non-prime. I don't have Prime. Just ordered for £17.99 delivered.
Nice, I do like these cameras that have the Leica Rangefinder styling. Can't stand the big clumsy DSLRs.
Yea I think I made the right decision getting the RX100. While I am interested in photography, I think I’d rather get a DSLR but seeing as this camera is for the parents when we go on holiday, the RX100 is much better and easier to cart around
It’s quite light though, good lens also.
For family vacations I would recommend the RX100, just because it's smaller, lighter and should focus faster and is therefore more versatile. I'd say the X-A10 is more for someone who's interested in getting into photography as a hobby where they plan to eventually upgrade to a better lens and a better body. It's more like a starting step.
Thank you for the detailed explanation. This is only going to be for family holiday photos etc whenever we want something better than our phone which will definitely include videos. Think I’ll stick with the RX100, much easier to take around
paypal12 is one off the top of my head.
Sold out now.
Too true, no overheating with a known brand like Sony.
You’d have been better off with a Sony Sofa though.
I had an Onkyo camera but it overheated...
It’s like anything. You just get used to it. A great feature is all the physical buttons around the main menu button are customisable so you can assign whatever function you like for quick access.
Went to look at the x-t20 and x-t2 in John Lewis last night and didn't find the interface very intuitive at all. Shame as they both get great reviews and feel really well built.
Yeah, definitely worth seeing them side by side. You may find the X-T20 a bit too small if you're used to the 6D but that said you wanted to get away from that due to its size and weight. Either way, the quality of the pics is incredible on both.
Cheers for that I was originally looking at the x-t20 and 622g is less than the body for the cannon. I might have to nip to a store and compare the t20 and the t2.
I had the X-T10 and then recently upgraded to the X-T20. An amazing camera with most of the features and tech from the X-T2 (remember it doesn't have weather proofing). That's the reason I went for the X-T20 due to the size. If you get a nice strap (these are lovely BTW http://www.1901fotografi.co.uk/shop/the-1901-leiter-eggleston-leather-camera-strap) you don't really notice it's there. I've got the main prime lenses too (23mm f2, 35mm f2, 50mm f2). The 35mm is the one I tend to keep on there most of the time. Just weighing mine now with battery, 50mm lens etc etc and it comes out at 622g. I absolutely love this camera.
Some comments round here advising digital cropping as a solution to the limitations of this camera. IMHO this should be a last resort, not a go to solution.
There's options for 28, 35 and 50mm equivalents. As I said if you're coming from a phone camera and want something better quality for everyday snaps this is perfect and if you want you can crop and upload to Facebook or wherever with no issues. Or alternatively go full on Cartier-Bresson and zoom with your feet and wait half an hour for the perfect moment.
Cropping the image would provide a comparable quality to a zoom lens assuming the fixed lens in this camera is very good, unless you pay allot for a high Quality zoom lens Clearly this isn't the camera to get 200mm shots with but cropping x2 or even x3 should still provide a very good quality image.
Ooo....did you say digital zoom? Just don't. The only zooming you'll be doing with this camera is with your feet. Unless you already know a fair bit about photography I would advise staying well clear of this camera.
It It is provided the original buyer didn't claim for it and you use the Amazon invoice that doesn't show the condition; I've done it myself.
Wow! Great find.
Great price but unfortunately not eligible for the Sony cashback :/
Zzzz... load of balls
The kit lens is useful for very little ;)
Still £499 with £100 cashback, post should be updated as this is a better price now. I'm edging toward the silver version.
Cashback has been increased to £100 now. Just ordered.
Got this December last year for £399 at Argos suprised myself its holding such a price
It’s so strange that there is so much interest in these now! Got one at this price 2 years ago! Excellent cameras though, superb video. Heat.
Just had an email from Zeek that they are also offering £10 back on a £100 spend - another little bonus!
Thanks. John Lewis now have camera at £760 with both code and cashback still available. So got it for £560. Can't wait to pick up on Monday.
Thanks for posting this. John Lewis recently priced matched this for me @£699 , with £100 trade in and £100 cashback, bringing total to £499. Camera is excellent.
