Happy daysssssss 😁
Think about what you want to mainly use it for. These are great for travel photography e.g. mainly outdoor scenes, but if you want to use it for parties and indoor events it will struggle.
I am on the look out for a compact camera too. Can't believe this is 3yrs old...

But drops to 800mA (high setting) when charging two.Edit:If it's the same charger as the one in this video , then it's very slow at charging.[Video] Skip to 1:51 to see the output values.1 battery 700mA 2 batteries 500mAI'll stick with what I've got.

tbf your charger (which comes without batteries) is a very different device
it seems to require a higher power source ie mains or car charger and so should be expected to have a higher power and charge speed.
not as versatile though

your currents are at the higher charge speed (selectable) which is more likely to cause battery wear.
the low setting isn't so far off these

Yea I think I made the right decision getting the RX100. While I am interested in photography, I think I’d rather get a DSLR but seeing as this camera is for the parents when we go on holiday, the RX100 is much better and easier to cart around

OTOH the RX100 is much more pocketable and I would say it's a real compact camera whereas this is only compact when compared to DSLRs, especially with the 16-50mm plastic fantastic lens.

Yeah, definitely worth seeing them side by side. You may find the X-T20 a bit too small if you're used to the 6D but that said you wanted to get away from that due to its size and weight.

Either way, the quality of the pics is incredible on both.

Anyone made the similar move? Will it be a significant weight saving?

I had the X-T10 and then recently upgraded to the X-T20. An amazing camera with most of the features and tech from the X-T2 (remember it doesn't have weather proofing). That's the reason I went for the X-T20 due to the size. If you get a nice strap (these are lovely BTW 1901fotografi.co.uk/sho…rap) you don't really notice it's there. I've got the main prime lenses too (23mm f2, 35mm f2, 50mm f2). The 35mm is the one I tend to keep on there most of the time.

Just weighing mine now with battery, 50mm lens etc etc and it comes out at 622g.

I absolutely love this camera.

Some comments round here advising digital cropping as a solution to the limitations of this camera.
IMHO this should be a last resort, not a go to solution.

There's options for 28, 35 and 50mm equivalents. As I said if you're coming from a phone camera and want something better quality for everyday snaps this is perfect and if you want you can crop and upload to Facebook or wherever with no issues. Or alternatively go full on Cartier-Bresson and zoom with your feet and wait half an hour for the perfect moment.

Lens is 28mm equivalent so if you're used to using a phone camera and want a camera with far superior dslr like quality this is a fantastic camera. Wide aperture too so you get some nice out of focus backgrounds and can do low light well so indoors with no flash isn't an issue. If I didn't have the first version I would snap this up in an instant. You won't find the fixed lens as restrictive as you think you will I promise - besides it has digital zoom function so you can easily crop in if required while retaining a lot of the quality.

No, it was on Amazon warehouse sold by Amazon (not a marketplace seller). Luckily it was brand new and had never had use - packaging was a bit damaged but that was it. It's the luck of the draw but I've done this a number of times and it's worked out. Sony are a bit slow with the cashback and quite specific with what you need to send to them but everything works out if you happen to get an unregistered product. like I say, if you're unlucky and it's been registered you can return to Amazon for refund.

Total bargain (body only) for £500ish after cashback was paid so worth a try with this too. Maybe not by the younger generation but certainly by the older generation as its easier to use and compact.
How will this compare to the Google pixel camera? I reckon that the pixels sensor is about the same as the one on this. Are there any camera people who could enlighten me ?
fairytooth3 h, 4 m ago

Yes

Of course - you cant compare the quality - smartphones will have more pixels, but pixels do not equate to quality. A £800 smartphone will produce photos that are pretty good in good sunlight, but still not better than this cheap camera. A camera will produce far better pictures in less than optimal conditions and then if you need to use a zoom then there is no comparison.

Side by side my 20mp cameraphone's photos even in ideal conditions cannot produce the same level of detail or have the range of real options as my 12 mp camera.

OP, sorry that you are disappointed with your purchase and are going to return it, but well done for posting that and seemingly undermining your own deal. That is the essence of HUKD, whereby the real value are the comments that follow the original post contain valuable and often hard won information. I always read the complete thread if considering a purchase, especially if it is a technical item. More than once it has changed my mind and saved me money and disappointment.

FWIW I'd leave the deal as is. No doubt others will have thoughts both pro and con its value. As I say, the very essence of HUKD.

Sorry if anyone has gone ahead and bought one of these, After some playing I've decided I'm going to return mine.
My reasons are non standard USB cable, battery needs to be in camera to charge, plus it's tiny. Image quality isn't what I was expecting and I had low expectations, really noisy at full size, and dark, even on a sunny afternoon like today. Lovely sunset this evening, deep orange, with a few small purple/blue clouds, the pictures I took show none of that beauty, very poor colours.

One day I'll learn that impulse buying tech invariably leads to returns. If anyone knows how to delete this post I'd be grateful.
