All Compact Camera Discounts, Offers and Sale - October 2018
When I had nex cameras (had every model since day one) I had the 30mm sigma and loved how sharp it was, also had this too. On a7ii now and have the 55mm zeiss and that is a mind blowing lens. Total perfection
I use this and have a Sigma 30mm f2.8 for wider angles. Both are fantastic
In other news this lens is not a phone and will not get you to work in the morning.
Surely it all depends on the size of your house???
The sigmas are razor sharp I’ll give you that but stabilisation in this lens is quite beneficial for the typical use of this lens.
Cold, not posted by Mrswitch. Joking, didn’t cast a vote. But in seriousness it’s too expensive, these were £199.97 last month from here and frequently nearer that price. £250 is too much for a 32GB phone like this.
Better EVF on this, includes panorama mode and can use Sony apps which are missing on the MK3
Wex are including an extended 2 Sony Warranty (+2% Quidco) https://www.wexphotovideo.com/sony-alpha-a7r-mark-ii-digital-camera-body-1575237/?
Same deal all over the place now
That’s true. It’s cheaper...It’s an older model with older technology.Even for £1400....I still recommend saving more for the a7iii unless your are hungry for megapixels (landscape shooters etc). I wouldn’t say it is ‘exceptional’..It is cheaper than it used to be brand new and for good reason! Anyway at the rate Sony update systems there will be a mkiiii by Christmas. Also...same deal available at Park Cameras if Camera World becomes out of stock.
But they're not the same price are they?! The a7iii is £2k and this is £1600 after cash back with a £300 light you'll get £200 ish on ebay for after researching so you end up paying £1400 for it! This is exceptional for the money
Received £150 cashback this morning! Great camera although now kinda tempted to sell it for the m4 (4k video and super slow motion) still for £224 this was an absolute bargain!
To complete your claim you will be required to include electronically the serial number of the product a photo of the serial number on the product itself and a copy of your original printed sales receipt/sales invoice
A maximum of 3 claims can be made by one consumer (and only one claim per product) .
Not sure, but I doubt it.
Got it. For me it would be the 13th. Is the photo of the SN on the box ok for the claim?
It already comes with a mini tripod. I bought it as my samsung s6 camera wasn't that good.
The picture does show the 40x Optical Zoom but yeh, nice to have it in the description. I have the 610 which is obviously a slightly earlier version but is a great camera for family holidays. Might upgrade it to this one.
The important missing feature listed is the zoom -- it is after all called a superzoom! It's 40x for those interested.
not bad - you'll probably want to buy a head for the tripod though
nice stalking love, perhaps if you weren't a clueless hypocritical grammar nazi id not even have replied to you and you would still have been skipping away happily
I've just taken the liberty of reading some of your replies on other posts. You really are a vile individual. Probably the type of person that dishes it out behind the keyboard, but when confronted crawls under their own pitiful existance. To be honest reading some of your other responses to people wasn't a surprise.
Dont ever call me love...
come on love you are getting silly, you have contributed absolutely nothing other than mistakes, hypocrisy and attacks. yet its me thats a 'total w4nker' and a 'tw4t'? ah well... if it makes you feel better ps. awknowlege? double apostrophes? from a spelling/grammar nazi its me raging? oh man... irony
Brilly - you are demonstrating yourself to be a total w4nker. It''s a camera for godsake. If you've got camera rage then go and see a shrink. By constantly going on the attack you are just making yourself out to be a tw4t. Yes my comment about the sensor was incorrect, I awknowleged that. Are you going to awknowlege you have nothing better to do than post on this thread... no? Thought not....
The OM-D E-M10 Mark II body is now also £299 - before cashback - at SRS Microsystems. https://www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk/olympus-om-d-e-m10-mark-ii-camera-body-black.html
And cash back approved.
Me too, I stuck with the a6000 in the end (I also have the gx80, and this is just too similar to justify keeping the Olympus!)
mine just came too thank you vm brilly woo hoo....
nice - i quite fancy one now that i cancelled my own order (cheeky)
in the past
This deal is showing £449 can you please confirm where it is £399
This is showing as £449, where is it £399?
As good a camera as you'll ever need...
Not sure I am serious enough a photographer to put down £700 on a lens!
Ahh ok. That's a decent price then, paid £499 for this back in December 2016 and it's an excellent pocket camera.
Just had my 'deals' booklet through and it is including VAT. And there was me about to buy the mark , now I've got to spend even more!!!
Is this the pre VAT price or VAT included?
luckily its just a picture nothing to do with costco they only have the mk3 on their site
Same link as this deal - the A7 body. Looks like they've gone now, though. Might be one back up at some point, though... not entirely sure if I want to make the FF transition...
More used ones from Amazon warehosue for £412 and £436 now
It is called Brexit effect.
It's easy, there is no competition.
OnePlus 5 Bought from BangGood for £360
Is a samsung wb31f comparable to the op camera? I have no interest in cameras on phones just looking for a reasonable camera for taking snaps of birds in my garden and maybe the occasional bug or two so I can zoom in later to see them up close. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Just curious, how much did your phone cost and what is it? serious question.
Yes the TZ-100 as mentioned is one of the best along with the sony rx100m3. Periodically with cashback promos you can buy these for less than £400. This is not quite as powerful a camera as these but was still a good deal https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/canon-powershot-sx720-hs-superzoom-compact-camera-travel-kit-198-currys-2903117 All about needs and budget I suppose... and waiting for a deal.
Only if you can't afford £500 for a phone and require a camera, it would be worth paying a little bit more for something better though. "Struggles in low light, poor video quality, ease of use niggles, imprecise zoom This is a disappointing camera that fails in too many areas. Picture quality is below par and video quality is poor" Should I buy it? No - there are far better cameras at a similar price. Take a look at the Nikon Coolpix S7000 as an alternative - it's a much better option if you're on a limited budget.
Yet another iteration of the same old 16mp oly sensor . As OP says there are quite a few same old same old . . . I have the 2012 e-pl5 which I guess is pretty much the same See dxomark https://www.dxomark.com/cameras/brand-olympus/launched-between-2012-and-2018/launch_price-from-0-to-45200-usd/sensor_format-sensor_micro43#hideAdvancedOptions=false&viewMode=list&yDataType=rankDxo
It was actually a geeky joke on the 404 price... Oh wells
Here you are: http://bfy.tw/H2II
HTTP 404 Not Found (cheeky)
Got two of these (because I thought I'd somehow lost the first), and I paid full whack both times and was still happy with them. They're quite spacious though- I got mine for a m4/3 camera, and though it's a relatively tight fit, I think most point-and-shoot compacts would be rattling around a bit.
nice find, oos at my local Argos
Thank you, got 2 reserved
Great price, heat! Looks like a nice little compact.
Yea you are right, probably a grey Import also, so next best price is £278. Looks like this has been superseded by the SX730, only difference appears to be a swivel screen, but costs £320.
3rd party, not amazon
Yep, very hot price....if I didn't have a sony hx60v and a sony hx400v I'd be all over this.....love a big zoom!!! Heated up and thanks for posting (y)
£249 at Amazon, seems next best price (without the travel kit). https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B01C2QIS9O/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
The main problem (reading the reviews) is that it won't focus and/or the shutter is too slow, so all the pictures are blurred, in which case it's good for nothing. That said, in regards to pixels, you're not wrong- there's little to be gained by increasing the pixel resolution if the sensor size isn't increased accordingly- in fact massive pixel count on a tiny sensor will likely produce worse photos than a lower pixel count on a larger sensor. But manufacturers rely on your casual and amateur customers to not know this, and just be blinded by the pixel count.
Probably excellent for someone who wants a snapshot camera to take pictures to print off at 6x4 inch size or to view on a computer screen at not too large a size. I have a 2005 Vivitar camera with a mere 5 MP which I still use and it takes lovely, crisp, clear photos which to my untrained eye are just as good as those from my smart phone or my much more expensive and more modern camera. Some people attach far too much importance to numbers in specifications.
Boldon as has had these in sub £10 numerous times, even at £9 I wouldn't touch one.
You definitely get what you pay for with this, I couldn’t even suggest they are good for the kids as buttons are fiddly for them. Pay a little more and you will get a much better product.
Your phone will take better pictures - and I don't like phone pictures either! Waste of £17.
I see Wex have matched this price now online, maybe the new RRP from Panasonic for the TZ100 although all others are still £525 or so but a lot of retailers have no stock which made me question whether or not it will still be produced. TZ200 still on preorder, phoned local Wex and they are still awaiting stock, but all online stores are £725 preorder. Can't justify the extra for a longer zoom and a s you say a few minor updates.
they are surely going to have both models going at the same time - tz100 highest price on amazon since introduction was 550 so its not even come down much in 2 years if it tz200 really does sell for 729 and tz100 cease to exist thats a massive amount of customers lost imo as a whole new price level for what is basically a jump in zoom and very very minor updates otherwise
This or wait for the Z200 (RRP £720 thou) :/ I wonder will the Z100 still be produced or will the Z200 completely replace it. If the Z100 goes sub £400 I'll buy 8) Nice deal anyway, cheapest price at present, heat added (highfive)
as said above - they didn't 'go back' they kept the 30x zoom range with smaller sensor and made more of them after tz100 was released (including your tz80 and the newer tz90) thats not abandoning it to those that want it - its a parallel range the similar naming is pretty stupid though
Brilliant camera. The zoom is only at 10x as the sensor is so much larger than most travel zooms. Bigger sensors need bigger lenses. 20x digital still looks really good on this.
Better than expected maybe, but you're never going to take a good low light shot with this size aperture and a fill-in flash. The superzoom is the main feature of this camera i.e. where most of the cost is focused (no pun intended). If the zoom isn't of interest for most of your work, then you're paying for something you don't need and compromising on what you do.
Oh. And added bonus, download Sony memories app and connect to WiFi wherever you are and photos go straight to your phone via Nfc... (don't care what anyone says, a camera will take a way better pic than a phone... Wife uses FB to upload etc
Beg to differ... Used for party's inside and out and much better than I expected... Now binned the big clumsy canon in favour of this, goes in pocket too... Happy daysssssss 😁
Think about what you want to mainly use it for. These are great for travel photography e.g. mainly outdoor scenes, but if you want to use it for parties and indoor events it will struggle.
I am on the look out for a compact camera too. Can't believe this is 3yrs old...
hmmm if you can live with the brown id go for the gx80 at JL which ends up at 299 over this one this a good camera but isn't cheap enough to be a bargain
How would this compare to a Canon 700D for video quality? I'm struggling to get lighting to look natural with the Canon.
Here you go dave
