No problem :) hope you find a good deal soon.
so sad missing this deal! cheers anyway
It did :( rip Thanks for letting me know
does it goes up again? 422.09 for me

Any recommended sites for grey import of Panasonic or Sigma lenses? I see that the 70-300 can be had for £925 from Panasonic eBay (open box). The 85mm prime is £450.
Yep. Incredible glass for £599. Minimum focus distance on the 50 and 85 are terrible though if I'm honest but you can always work around that.
85 1.8? Interesting. Mee too. I think there is only one macro sigma model if i am not wrong
Sub £400 for a grey import. Temping. I have a load of fast glass for my G9 though.
Jumping in here to recommend the 85mm. Best Lumix S lens for L mount system by a country mile (own 24, 35, 50 and 85)

I got it last November. I also saw the deal again in January and a couple of friends bought it. I believe if you search on here you’ll probably find the expired deal. At the time, Amazon and Wex were doing it. This deal first came to my attention in April 2021 when a colleague got it but I missed that and waited. Unfortunately I don’t have a crystal ball so I can’t say if it will be back but I’ve seen it on three separate occasions so there’s a good chance! If you’re not desperate, I’d at least wait until the Easter sales come and go. That deal with the 20-60 and extra battery for £1599 is pretty standard so it’s not like that won’t ever come up again, it’s literally on about 6 months of the year (lol)
when did you get this? I am tempted for this deal with the 200 cashback but now I hear you had the 50mm also! https://www.wexphotovideo.com/panasonic-lumix-s5-digital-camera-with-20-60mm-lens-plus-shooting-grip-and-spare-battery-1750122/
There are more than 12 Native L mount lenses! Have a look here - https://lesdeuxpiedsdehors.com/en/lenses-for-l-mount/
The other area where it's not better than Sony is in the choice and price of lenses. Huge choice with Sony, both native and third party many very affordable. There are only 12 native L mount lenses, 77 native e-mount lenses. https://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/Lenses/Sony--EFE/All https://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/Lenses/L-Mount/All
For me, yes, and I use for a mixture of stills and video (mainly video). Colours so much better, with profiles that are usable for quick edits without having to grade. Higher frame rates and I’m shooting 4K 10-bit ProRes with an Atomos Ninja V. Build is better too (again a lot of this is subjective!). The only area it’s not better than the Sony is in AF but It’s still a lot better than previous Panasonics. I don’t use AF much anyway in video. If you go on YouTube all the videos focus on AF, mainly because it’s with making videos for YouTube in mind, which I don’t do

This kit lens is worth about £200, so you could always sell it and get the Leica for another 200 or so.
I would’ve bitten if it was the Laica 12-60mm f2.8-4 lens that came with this.
Thanks.. corrected :)
Cracking deal
You added the photo of the mkii :(

I know. The voucher is now gone for the lens kit but is still available with the body only.
It's a voucher you have to tick
yeah its back!
They got the body only I think, as that is what the original deal was and has since been updated to a different package.
Body and lens back on at £1099

Been eyeing this up over the weekend. Just went up £200 but the offers are still on at least.
Hi, it was a tough decision as I loved my X-T4. I needed a full frame camera for work where I shoot training videos in low light conditions. Also prefer the ergonomics of the chunky grip and the battery life. I carn't leave Fuji so I kept my X-T1 as my weekend camera. The S5 camera is built like a tank and the autofocus issues are over-hyped. The L mount lenses are much more expensive but the 20-60 and 50mm should meet 90% of most needs.
Is there any particular reason why? Is it just a personal preference thing or have you genuinely found it to be a better camera? I only ask as I have been shooting Fuji for a good while (currently X-T4 and X-S10) but have been casting a wandering eye towards the FF Lumix gear over the past few months.
Wow thanks, that's saved me a bundle.
I personally would say they are very close in image quality. Perhaps the 24-105 is marginally sharper by a whisker but the fact that the 20-60 is half the weight and also bundled in is a no brainer. I personally think the wider end of the 20-60 is more useful than the long end of the 24-105 so I use the 20-60 more than the 24-105 and the S5 IBIS negates some of the advantage the 24-105 has with optical stabilisation. I did read that someone said their 20-60 wasn't sharp in the corners until stopped down to F11 but my copy is sharp enough wide open and very sharp f5.6 onwards so perhaps there are sample variations? I think I wasn't clear the reasons why when I said I sold the 20-60 that was with the bundle.. It wasn't because it was weak in any way but because I already had another 20-60 I purchased for use with my Sigma FP & FPL before buying the S5 :)

The voucher isn't applicable anymore. This is a great prosumer camera though.
So gh6 is £2200 with this lens.
Yes, I also take mine travelling as I like to grab a bit of stock video footage with it as well as photo shots. Have sold 4K clips for around £100 each (and that's just using the 12-60 kit lens) so yes, a very capable camera in the professional sphere.
Leaked review of gh6 ymcinema.com/2022/02/17/panasonic-lumix-gh6-review-internal-prores-recording-and-cooling-fans/ It looks quite a bit bigger than GH5 as well. I use my GH5 as a travel camera with the tiny vario 12-32mm lens. It JUST scrapes portability for me, so the GH6, although the better camera, may not suit everyone. The specs of even the original GH5 are absolutely fantastic and will be for a long time to come.
Actually just had a look at some of the leaked GH6 specs (the camera is due to be launched on the 22nd) and this GH5 might be the better buy!

I've been waiting for X-H2 (aka X-H20) for awhile, cinematic 6k vlogs + 8k, released in May, $2,599, supposedly, if so it's a game changer for under $5k.
Excellent Alistair, thank you for your update and it would seem that the S5 is perfect for your use. I understand exactly where you are coming from regarding the 'older' FujiFilm sensors and have kept my first X100 and X-Pro1 for the dreamy quality of the photo's. They have a special look to them which is so different from that of my X100V and X-Pro2. Not better, just different! I think that the X-T4 is a superb bit of kit and I appreciate the dilemma you are going through! I must admit that I suffer a bit from GAS, aquisition not wind, and have dabbled in most systems but the Fuji colours have won me over. I am eagerly awaiting the rumoured 40mp X-H2 and will start planning to get one past the eagle eyes of my beloved. Enjoy your lovely S5!
Hi Pat, It arrived today and there is certainly some heft to it compared to the X-T4. The controls are very intuitive. I am going to use it for video work and use my X-T1 as my hobby stills camera (I prefer the photos from this older sensor especially with vintage glass over the XT4). As my video work is manual focus I'm not too bothered about the autofocus. IBIS seems better on the Lumix and low light performance looks promising. The X-T4 is up for sale and I've never felt more gutted about selling something in my life. I might get an XT5 you never know.
I hope you enjoy your S5. I bought one with the free 50mm lens and extra battery/grip combo for £100 more as I wanted to see if going full frame would be an improvement on my FujifIlm set up. I am afraid that it has been returned. The focusing, despite the latest firmware update is, to put it kindly, a bit hit or miss and not a patch on the X-T4 but it does depend on what you are photographing. It is not for fast moving stuff. Static portraits and landscape are excellent though. IQ wise I couldnt see any difference between the X-T4 with a 16-55mm at comparable focal lengths. But it is a lovely camera to hold, the kit lens it comes with is a cracker and the deal at the moment, is stupendous value for money. The 50mm lens that came with it is a very good lens but the longer focal lengths that I would want are very expensive. Once you get yours I would really appreciate your comments compared to your X-T4 (if you still have it).
There are many comparisons on Youtube. I'm selling my X-T4 and the S5 will arrive in a few days so I'll let you know.

Would you recommend this for someone who just had a baby? To take baby photos
How well do the Lumix cameras play with Olympus lenses? I do a lot of product macro photography in a lightbox and currently have a Nikon D3300 and use extension tubes to get the macro effect. Problem is it takes me ages to take loads of pics focusing on different parts of the object and then doing focus stacking in Photoshop. The Lumix cameras have the Post Focus option that will allow me to get everything in focus with one press of the shutter button.... but will this feature work well with the Olympus 60mm macro lens that people seem to rave about?
I'm Waiting for the body only option to go below 399. I think some time ago the body only option has been 350?
Probably the price it should always be, great camera though. This was one whet Panasonic improved their JPEG engine massively too, if that matters for you.
Got the same on my gx800. Great little lens

OOS

No, they are UK dealers
Is this a grey import?
I think UK Digital have a better deal, S5 with 20-60 + extra battery + shooting grip + a free Feiyutech gimbal for £1499.
It is at least only a small improvement on the Amazon deal
damnit bought the Amazon one a day or so ago. but have a gorilla pod already, excellent deal

Just let me know if this comes back please!!! @siegemaster
Right now you can but the body on Amazon for £1499 (lol) ;(
The John Lewis Voucher didn't actually worke. I have ordered one just in case and emailed them that I want the price adjusted. If the both Amazon and John Lewis honour the deal I will have a spare one. I'm in Bournemouth
(annoyed) (annoyed) (annoyed) at 1 a.m. 6 in stock online on John Lewis and on Amazon with £300 voucher. This morning out of stock on John Lewis and without the voucher on Amazon (annoyed) (annoyed) (annoyed)
I've woken up in the middle of the night and somehow managed to get one :D Also got the 20-60mm kit lens form eBay for 260 quid.

Would this or the Olympus e-m10 and lens that was posted earlier be better?
I think the 25 is F1.7, its pretty good. The other is v.slow, but makes a handy sensor cover.
how fast is the lense, f1.4, f1.8 etc?

Now shows out of stock so will close. Looks like sone people benefited. I think there was 10 at time of posting.
I quite like my 10-25mm with G9 but actually figured that for my use case I will benefit more form selling it and getting an S5. Initially I'll get the kit 20-60 but later I'll try to find a cheap Sigma 18-35 F1.4 and I should be set!
Insanely good camera. I got the deal on Amazon that included the 20-60 and the 50mm for £1549. Both the lenses combined cost £1000 so if that comes up again in January then that’s the deal to jump on. However, if you’re looking for the body and want a lens different to the bundled options, this is a brilliant deal. Tempted to get a second body at this price. Easily the best full frame camera under £2000 IMO, the only down mark it ever gets in continuous autofocus in video so it’s not for solo YouTubers but for anyone else it’s a big (y) from me
Not sure what hat you referring to, shooting in 1.4 will surely will make 95% of frame out focus anyway and this is nothing to do with shooting type or sensor size
Yes had a quick look at dpreview sliders comparison thing vs Sony a7 iii. F1.4 on FF will make a shoot impossible to be done for many, while on mirrorless camera most of the objects will be in focus anyway. (confused)

Spot on there. For what it offers, and combing through many YT reviews from established channels, this is without doubt the best value-for-money new full frame out there. Just wish I could afford it :)
Sigma 24-70 f2.8 is superb is so good that's Leica rebranded it under own hood for twice the price
Body only deal here https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/panasonic-lumix-s5-digital-camera-body-plus-shooting-grip-and-spare-battery-ps1299-248-at-wex-free-delivery-3856816?utm_source=mappshare&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=3856816&utm_campaign=2021-12-23
I forgot to say I'd also be doing car photography and video reviews (currently using a GoPro for video and pixel phone for photos) would these two lenses be the best choice (in addition to webcam use) or better to go for the body only option and get a different lens? Ta.

Looks good. Snap it up folks!
Also comes with a FREE JOBY GorillaPod Kit, Lexar 64GB Card and Reader.
Fuji have been doing 10bit for yonks and the autofocus is ok (not perfect but not as bad as sony fanboys like to make out)
35 for talking head. 50 just for general shots. Tbh 85 is the best focal length no question. If you're planning on sticking with L-mount get the 50 to begin with. Then work down. 24 is my least used but still an incredible lens that I'm glad I opted for.
That’s exactly why I didn’t pull the trigger on this during the Easter sales when they were practically giving this camera away with spare battery, grip, lens and even a gimbal, I was very close to buying but the autofocus was the deciding factor. I’m actually glad I didn’t buy because the recent announcement of the Canon R10 & R7 shows that finally someone is taking Apsc cameras seriously. All I’ve ever wanted for years was a 10-bit video apsc camera with great autofocus in the £1000 range. If they can put prores video in an iPhone surely they can put it in a apsc camera and not charge the earth.
Yeah, looks like the voucher can no longer be applied to this variant. Expired!
Looks that way.
