That's strange as reviews seem better than JL JL

Yes but HUKD wouldn't let me post it.

It's included if you buy from UK Camera Store so better deal from them imo - 2 Year Warrenty also.

Nope that was not part of the JL price match

Did you get the free 64GB SD card that UK Camera Store are offering as well?

Got mine this morning (took four days from ordering, even on Prime, not sure if this is Euro stock). Anyway, it fits the TZ60 perfectly. Only mentions the TZ60 on the packaging as well. (I got the red pen out ;) )

Confirmed for the TZ60 but not confident about the others.

Bargain for branded item as long as camera fits in.

Price has crept up today (didn't realise there were still any left). Now £6.71 Used - Very Good £7.07 Used - Like New

Fotosense states this is • Compatible with: Panasonic Lumix TZ60, TZ61, TZ70, TZ71 but I see an Amazon review stating this doesn't fit the TZ70. The TZ60 does fit, as confirmed by this review has many more reviews and Q&As, may be worth a read if you want to read about compatibility with those other models.

This is a great price! I have this camera and it's perfect for my all round needs. A decent wrist strap makes it easy and secure to carry .... Like this

Only one downside is that the FZ1000 isn’t weathersealed which might be an issue for some. I bought a medium peak design cover and even in heavy downpours the cover kept the camera free from water ingress

I have the FZ1000 since 2016 and it has traveled the world. Just only recently did I buy another Panasonic (G9) when I went on safari but overall the image quality of the FZ1000 in good to decent light is awesome. Super sharp. The 1000 is actually a tack sharper than the newer model which I had a for a few days.

I was in JL in Oxford Street just today, the 3 cameras I picked up off the open display were working even had a play with the EOS R and XT3 though they had to be taken out of glass cases.

It's just gone midnight and the price has risen to £879.00. However, the FZ2000 + Battery bundle is still showing at £758.98 (for the moment, anyway!) UPDATE @ 04.45: Battery bundle now £937.99 ('sigh') Fingers crossed Amazon drop the price of the camera-only deal again before Christmas.

Have a look best lens

People expect to have the right answers spoonfed to them immediately! The only problem is, they're not asking experts, they're generally getting one persons opinion who tries to make out like he/she knows everything! ;) A little bit of legwork and they can make a more educated decision - simple isn't it?!

dpreview is good, but I wish people took your comment to heart more generally. So many of the deal threads seem to be filled with basic questions that could be answered with a few seconds on Google.

In the end you can get the camera & the lens for 499£, so it's only 125£ more than the body alone. This lens is worth ar. 300£. So better deals as far as I'm concerned.

There ya go. How wide? Do you want fast? What's your budget? You really do need to be more specific. Have a look through that site I linked, you'll get WAY better info and a bit less trolling if you're looking through their forum. But you'll get torn apart if you posted a question like that ;)

I can't recommend the cases highly enough. Quick tip, get some waterproofing spray or use some wax to waterproof it, that way it saves it getting damp from any light drizzle and then transmitting that moisture to your camera/lens. I tend to use the little silica gel bags to keep moisture levels down

thank you... looks like a good option :)

Thanks, I'd been looking around for a decent case & the only one I'd found so far had been that 1950's - esque designed case that looked pretty tricky to get access to the camera in a hurry. Just ordered the dashpoint 20 in blue for £12.95 from amazon, with the same bag in slate grey @ £14.95, & Galaxy grey @ £19.99

Lowepro Dashpoint 20. Keep an eye out on ebay and you should pick one up for under £10. I originally bought it for my GX80 but it's actually a better fit for my new GX800. You can attach it to the chest strap of a daypack, to a belt, with the supplied shoulder's super handy. PLus it gives a good level of protection. Bear in mind, if you get a case that's really snug, getting it out and putting it away is a pain in the.... I can JUST squeeze my GX80 with one of the pancake lenses into it but I stopped with the 20 and got the larger, dashpoint 30 and it just slips in.

picked this up from currys, can anyone recommend a case?

I've also had a few panasonic cashbacks & agree it's usually a smooth process. However, they are very particular about model eligibility (grey imports are excluded for ecample), so I'd double check if this is included. It may just be a typo in the amazon listing, but it could be something more significant.

I'm sure it is exactly the same camera, just an inaccurate title and description on Amazon. If you check the product details on Amazon, it says "Item model number: DC-FT7EB-A". Lumix cameras used to have model numbers starting with "DMC", but it seems the newer models are just "DC". I've got a few cashbacks from Panasonic, no problems. Though note you have to wait 35 days after purchase, before you can claim.

Careful though. I'd certainly snap this up if the cashback was guaranteed. However, the cashback only applies to very specific model numbers - see list via pronotion link - and the DMC-FT7EB-A is not on the list, even though other variants of this model are (and they're £100 more expensive). I'd therefore recommend double checking with Amazon and / or Panasonic if you're purchasing on the strength of the cashback alone. I've got an ft5 and would love to upgrade, if the price is right.

I have the 14 - 140, but don't do much telephoto work as I am into landscapes so use mid angle and wide angle lenses more.

Same here! Thanks for replying!

Which long tele do you have? My longest lens is currently the 35-100 but I could do with something longer for an extended trip to southern Africa and was considering the Pany 100-300mm ii and Oly 75-300mm ii. For how much use it will get I decided against the Pany as it's considerably heavier and larger and a lot more expensive, especially as I've found an off for a new 75-300 for £228.65 - there's a black friday discount plus Oly's £85 cashback! I'm thinking I'd rather buy from John Lewis and they said they'll price match! So I really need a long tele? No. If it was £350 would I buy a new one? No. But at that price I'm considering getting one AND the GX800 (£219) as a second body!

What's the difference between this and the black one? Is it design only?

I have both. They are both great cameras with pretty much identical picture quality. The G80 is really what the G7 should have been! Also the G80s kit lens (the 12-60) is basically parfocal which means it holds its focus throughout the zoom range in video mode - which most SLR lenses don't do. Oh, this is of course using manual focus! Autofocus (like auto anything) is not to be trusted. Yes it makes a reasonable attempt in video mode, but still drifts in and out of focus at times. Autofocus for stills (single point) is excellent. The IBIS in the G80 is very good, so if you intend using older lenses of want to do a lot of handheld video, the G80 would be the better buy.

Thanks. My 14-140 lives on the camera; I seem to remember it cost more than the body would have!

Yes, the G80 is the replacement for the G7. Note it's also known as the G85 or G81 in some countries, so reviews may refer to that. It's not a huge upgrade from the G7, but does have a few nice new features. eg weather sealing, and IBIS, and a better viewfinder. Also no AA filter, which may make it slightly sharper. The 12-60mm lens is selling for about £150 at MPB. If you just have the 14-42mm lens for your G7, then the 12-60 is a nice upgrade. Gives you a bit more range, plus weather sealing.

Yes, this is the replacement for the G7. Quick Google search suggests that the lens is ~£350 new - based on selling three copies of the standard Canon 18-55mm kit lens over the years you typically get around half the list price, but then I don't know what the resale market for Micro Four Thirds is like.

You make some good points. There are still some reasons to go with the Panny. The Panny is better for 4K shooting, has a more usable stock lens range with weather sealing (body and Lens), dual optical image stabilisation, electronic shutter and has larger lens market. If you want a durable 4K camera to travel with and can work around the video slower auto focus I'd still go Panny.

I have a G7. Is this its replacement (ie not G8 but G80) or is it somewhere else in the range? I'm out of touch with latest Panny stuff. Any idea of the resale value of that lens? Thanks.

picked mine up today :) can anyone recommend a case? ty

Ha, cheers! I bought 2 DTSE's with a dual charger from Amazon last night for £13 - and they're already here and charging!

Saw you've had a couple of replies on DPReview. I wouldn't get too hung up on it - both will work fine - my Fosmon is DMW-BLH7, DTSE is DMW-BLH7E. Can't find my Dot Foto one! Just go by the reviews on Amazon and get the best priced ones. My preferred cheap brand - Powerextra - dont seem to do this battery. Enjoy your trip to South Africa!

Enjoy! Yeah, I saw that there's the DMW-BLH7 for this and the "DMW-BLH7E" that's for the GM1/5. I was wondering if I could switch between the 2 but haven't found any info. Are you using DTSE/Fosmon/DOTFoto DMW-BLH7's? I've seen the DMW-BLH7E are a fair bit cheaper and I need to pick a couple up sharpish as I fly out on the 6th dec!

Off out shooting with mine tonight. Great camera for getting into gigs and concerts. I've been using this DTSE battery with no problems. Also got Fosmon and DOT.FOTO batteries - all work just as good as the original Panasonic version. ExPro's are good - just a little bit more expensive these days. Same batteries fit my much older (and even smaller) GM1. However recently noticed that some of the compatibles are a very tight fit in my Lumix LX15 - would be a bit worried about trying to get the battery out again! No problems with the GX800 though.

Yeah, I'm quite deep into the M43 rabbit hole now after about 6 years, started with a G5 then GH3 and now Olympus OMD EM1 MK2 with a GX80 as a second body. I only got the Olympus back in March as it was cheaper than the G9 at the time and I was going on Safari. I haven't gone for this yet myself but seriously tempted still. The Panasonic 12-35mm 2.8 (came with the GH3) is my go to everyday lens. However, £975 for the G9 and lens seems a good price to me, certainly better than the 14-42 lens I got with G5, weather sealed too I think.

I am waiting to pounce on a G9, but the Kit version comes in at 975 at the moment after discount. I presume you guys already have lenses?

Thanks. This was just the deal I was waiting for! Managed to get on Amazon for £849 after cashback.

Huge thank you for posting this. Iv been looking at getting this camera for a long time now. Can't even buy it on ebay for less :D

Nice little camera with 4k capabilities and good price, voted hot. The lens included has optical image stabilisation built in so no real need for IBIS with this.

In that case, I wouldn't make such a bold claim. It can be one of the better budget camera's for video, but using "best" might give people the wrong idea. For people starting out, they're unlikely to want to use gimbals etc. I can't recommend the GX80 for full-on video's as there's no mic in socket so you're having to use a seperate recording device. But for someone thinking about starting off with "interchangeable lens system" camera's, it's a great starting point. The IBIS isn't just reserved for low light - it's really useful if you're using tele lenses among other things. At the day, it's each to their own depending on their uses and budgets.

Just people on YouTube, D4Darious just made a video on it a couple of days ago. You're right on the IBIS, it's the only reason I was considering the G9 but then they announced the new full frames so I'm waiting for those to come out and see what happens, in the meantime a zhiyun crane helps.

Which company/website is giving out that recommendation, I'm curious? Just a heads up, there is no IBIS in this model. There are normally lots of deals on the GX80 which is more compact and has it, if that's a must. I bought the GX80 and the stabilisation is fantastic, I personally wouldn't buy a micro 4/3 without it now. But that's just for my uses. Great price OP, just isn't ticking the boxes for me.

Yeah, I got one before it went back up as well. My original plan was to head into my local John Lewis when it opened and get them to price match Currys, but got delayed heading out. Once I'd left, I went to get the Currys price ready on my phone and saw the price had gone up - quickly checked Amazon, saw it was still at the desired price and ordered it as I was walking into town!

Now that Currys have put their price back up, this has gone up as well. Presumably it will drop again once the Black Friday deals actually start.

Ha, I was wondering the same thing. I have the RX100MK3 and it's a truly fantastic camera but with limited zoom. I was looking at this Panasonic purely for the zoom. I think the RX100 would be better in low light though as it's f1.8-2.8 compared to f2.8-5.9.

I got this in April from John Lewis when it was £219 and it later dropped to £199 and went back to £219 Good point and shoot camera for. can also take decent pics of moon or airplanes. Dont expect clarity of DSLR. This is just a good point and shoot travel camera. Small and pocket size with decent battery.

This is £209 from Clifton Cameras incl delivery or TZ80 for £249 at Argos etc.

I've got a TZ60 that I picked up very cheap on a HUKD a while ago. The increase in quality over a good phone camera isn't that much IMO, and when zoomed in you're not going to get good photos anyway. Dunno - not sure these point and shoots have much of a market anymore with phone cameras being decent and DSLRs being pretty accessible.

My TZ70 developed a fatal software fault shortly after it was out of guarantee. It was the only TZ I've owned that hadn't sucked dust into the lens, only because I was so damn carefull with it, and then it died on me. Gave on on them after that.

It's rare because from what I read Panasonic we're voted most reliable camera brand many times. My experience is Fuji and Canon are more unreliable even though their image quality is good

I was looking at this, but ended up buying a Sony HX60 from argos/ebay for £116 on saturday

If you want a very small camera with image quality a good step above a smartphone, you will want at least a 1" sensor, which costs more than a smaller sensor... though your TZ70 will be better if you want the longer zoom in a small package (and still good image quality in bright places). An SLR would only be an option at this price if you were not concerned with size.

Not really. The market for 1 inch enthusiast cameras is 300-500. It's a competing camera. Not saying its better or worse, but it's not apples and oranges
