TZ 200 I think was £549 which is a good price. Used but maybe only box opened worth a look if you are in the area.

brilly

despite tempts irrelevant deal, those aren't amazing prices

Plugman17

The rx100 iii has the grip and Sony case so I think it's good value. £80 less than new. Don't forget you should always ask about a deal as well.

Had this camera about 8 months now. I know people will slate it re how good mobiles are and I get that ( I have a P20 pro) but this is a very capable little camera, zoom is excellent and to second banjomike the viewfinder is great aswell. Well worth the money.

banjomike

The live viewfinder is stunning and Leica glass is amazing even when it doesn't come from the German factories. Review https://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/panasonic_lumix_dmc_tz70_review

Great Zoom. But it's an old model. No 4K Great in its day.

Edged

I paid £235 4 years ago for this, good camera at the time but I'd only buy this if you need the Zoom and many do but apart from that your mobile will give as good if not better pictures.

If you look at Panasonic link above, it's included in the deal, for some reason just not on the Amazon page. Amazon are missing quite a few which are included though.

woldranger

OP, great news! Check this out and make sure to add it to the description... Panasonic cashback

stkrup

In size wise yes 4/3 is way better then full frame, photo quality could be as good as full frame but you never get as good shallow depth of field with 4/3 camera, i personall prefer olympus than panasonic, 12-100 lens is perfect all around, pictures are razor sharp. I have both 4/3 omd and sony a99 mark2, if i need a quality portrait will always use FF sony for travel is always gonna be 4/3 I tried fuji system with sensor which sits between 4/3 and FF but lack of body stabilization in cameras these days is really appealing

woldranger

That's a great price for this body with the PL lens. Comparing this to a full frame is rather missing the point of the m4/3 system, and when it's at this price then even more so. Heat from me.

You don't say!

peter1969uk

As I said, I used to have the FZ72, its predecessor, a very capable camera.

rheumatoid

It is effectively a small sensor compact with a giant zoom. The sensor will always be the weakness and will come nowhere near bigger sensor cameras in terms of quality. However, if a big zoom is what you need (and a decent wide angle) and quality isn't the main priority then this is an excellent choice. Try pricing a DSLR lens to cover 20-1200 and then have a lie down. Some good tutorials by Graham Houghton on Youtube. I bought one recently and have been pleased. Got some pictures of the Pope at St Peters and it looks like I was standing in front of him. Shake is a prob at long zooms and stabilisation helps but a tripod is a must for sharp images.

AFRogers

I’ll expire it.

peter1969uk

It's Jack of all trades Camera. Like anything else, a lens that covers everything is never going to be as good as a lens for a specific job. Now don't get me wrong, great little camera. I had the FZ72, which was also very capable. Though I also have a Canon 5D MK III and a Canon EOS R, which obviously give far better results, however these are at a considerable higher cost.

stovy

Mines coming in 2 hours, cant wait... It did not get the best reviews BUT those were at its £350-400 price point... It often gets compared to the Olympus TG-5 and the TG5 wins on many levels...but its over twice the price! Also, even a refurb Hero5 costs more than this and I recon this will be much better... I think at this price its worth it, not sure id say the same thing if it was £250+

robatt

No way it'll flop. Haven't you seen Idiocracy?

stovy

Thanks! I got one, looking forward to getting it.... For this price this is by far the best waterproof/rugged camera. I wonder how it will be vs a Gopro Hero 5.

dezontk

Will always dislike Costcos membership policy. If they ever flop one day I will raise a glass to it. No doubt they will scrap it entirely before that, but then will still be deserving of said flop. Paying them for the pleasure of paying them. Jesus.

what on earth? you made comment you were corrected you agree wrong i posted you then told me you knew exactly what you were talking about AFTER being corrected hence 'already' but as you are going 'la la la' with fingers in your ears you can strut off into the sunset with your head held high

friar_chris

It wasn't 'already' explained, or are you deliberately ignoring chronology. It was explained after my post, but before you joined the thread (which is irrelevant). 'you not doing so well it seems'. I was however interested in what wisdom you had to offer - learning from other people is always welcome. All you have to offer is a lot of typos, poor grammar, troll grunts or at best some incoherent regional dialect. BTW 'petty' was word play, which is why I used it twice. You see, I knew exactly what I was saying, it just wasn't what you thought I was saying. You've been muted bully boy.

There have been a lot of good deals on Panasonic m4/3 kit recently. I assume this is as they have just launched the S1 and S1R full frame cameras and so are discounting the older micro four thirds stock. I got a GH5 and 12-60 lens for £1249 a couple of months ago. I see that it can now be had for £1199. Panasonic are very good about the cashback, and I got my cheque about a week after applying for it.

Tobirama

Nothing wrong with holding camera at arms length, i got viewfinder and very rarely used viewfinder because the way i composed my framing. No problem with camera shake as long as you know the setting. I shoot fully manual with manual lenses most of the time so no help with stabilizer either. Half of the time i even use my thumb to press shutter button. In the olden day, some ppl use tlr or folding camera or any camera with waist level finder (even today) and they are ok with that. Not everyone who holding camera at arms length dont understand about basic exposure. So it is a matter of preference not about knowledge.

Waterproof down to 31 metres Freezeproof down to -10°C Shockproof up to 2 metres (y)

W_jelly1

There's a raft of option - but for a few meters that most will do a phone might just do else one of these shockproof ones is good (also great if you have kids) but not good for deep due to lack of light - that's were serious money kicks in. I bought a 'proper' 50m housing with a compact camera for a reasonable amount on ebay - takes better underwater pics than any of other things I've tried (for money). Have a look on ebay and get an older housing and matching camera

AVguy18

Think he meant that guy

Mentos

In theory yes, in practice theres a lot of faffing around and worry. You should really rinse and then dry the enclosure after every use. For example when you need to charge the camera, pull the pictures off, change settings, play back images (unless you find the perfect enclosure it likely wont give you access to all the settings). I went the enclosure route with a cheap action camera last time around. But given the camera was £30 I didn't care as much as I would with an expensive P&S let alone my DSLR.

panda3382

I had an old fuji camera which we used on all our trips abroad and at home in the pool, the results weren't as good as some cameras but the moments caught in the sea and the pool were memories that would have been missed. I also could allow the kids to use it without worry. Horses for courses.

The TZ80 is on Amazon at the moment for £219. Is it worth the extra

brilly

the superzoom gives you the option - the other doesn't

r200ti

Its not purely a 30x zoom having the advantage over a 3x zoom on an RX mind. The quality of the lens and the sensor mean that theoretical 10x advantage is massively eroded in the real world. For the one shot in 20,000 that the fully extended superzoom can get a better picture than a 1" the 1" will capture 19,999 pictures much, much better.

shivrajrk

No. It doesn’t have

brilly

a good phone is better quality than this but no phone has 30x zoom this is all about getting zoom in a compact package, rx range, phones, bridges, slrs etc all irrelevant
