The oil on the top of meridian peanut butter is perfectly natural.
The reason other brands don't separate is because they are not 'pure' peanut butter, they have the addition of palm oil. Palm Oil contains a lot of saturated fat and which makes it semi solid at room temperature; so when it's added to peanut butter if stabilises the mixture and thus prevents the peanut oil separating.

That makes it £5.34 for 3 jars, i.e. 1.02kg, without needing any special offers. Just a pain having to buy lots of jars, maybe eventually they'll sell it in larger quantities.

Sort of puts me off ordering as once the bag is open it will surely degrade the contents unless you put it in many sealed storage jars? Which then defeats the object of saving money by buying in bulk?

I have to agree with the OP. The deal is that the system is £2000 with a free ipad. However, the company are allowing you to take a cash discount if you don't want the ipad, so the choice is yours. As the OP states, many other retailers are offering the free ipad, but only these are allowing the discount as an alternative.

It isn't a buy X get Y for more money offer, it is a freebie or a discount. Maybe people should be a little less negative towards the OP and deal in general

How does this make sense in your head? How is it free if you pay extra … How does this make sense in your head? How is it free if you pay extra £399 for it? That's why this went cold, not the premium product but the deceptive marketing.

To me, the main deal here is the fact that you can get the Meridian for £1601, which is £399 cheaper than anywhere else because Russ Andrews uniquely allow costumers to de-select the option of a free ipad. Although a few other retailers are offering the free ipad deal too, none of them appear to allow customers to forfeit the ipad for a £399 discount.

I stated in the title that if anyone wants to buy the Meridian, they can choose between a £399 discount or an ipad. I don't think the marketing is deceptive, on the contrary, Russ Andrews are being very generous because I'm sure they'd make more money if they withdrew the option of a £399 discount and only sold the Meridian for £2000 with an ipad. Maybe I could have posted the deal differently to make things clearer.
