I think mine one has died. I had updated the firmware over the weekend, and was working for a bit then went offline. Powered cycle it still no good. However the red led is lit. Not sure if the cause is the heavy rainfall or the firmware update. Has anyone had this problem?
Anywhere else to get these, don’t seem to be available now
Got some of those cables you suggested and did a similar thing to what you've done but I've attached to the wall instead as then it's higher up and also looks more standard. Going to do the front when I get chance now I'm happy with the back (y)
Yeah I understand (y) Anyone else on this thread got any photos of their external installs and experiences. Just wondering over time what will happen if they are in direct sunlight as at the rear of my house that's what it's going to face. Also how good waterproof wise are they as the back of the camera has that grill which I guess is for the speaker, so do they need to be under cover? Cheers all (highfive)
My plan was to attach to the brick but I've actually used the supplied magnetic ring on the PVC window ledge for now. Not sure if I like the look of it yet but if I change my mind, I'll attach it to the brick next to the ledge and the cable bends nicely around the corner anddd with it being white, all blends in :D hopefully I've explained that well. I'm tired baha.

thanks for that info, so much stuff around about how intrusive amazon can be , I was ultra-cautious.
If you want the real facts look at rings own privacy page which details how secure their system is https://en-uk.ring.com/pages/privacy . Their is an FAQ section near the bottom of that page that also gives a lot of detailed information about how secure their video recordings are it states the following: "We have taken measures to help secure Ring devices from unauthorised access. These measures include restricting installation of third-party applications on the device, rigorous security reviews, software security development requirements, and encryption of communication between Ring devices with services, such as AWS cloud storage services. Ring secures video recordings in transit and stores them on secure AWS servers. We use a combination of AES encryption (Advanced Encryption Standard) and TLS (Transport Layer Security) to secure data between Ring devices and AWS, and we encrypt data between Ring devices using AES encryption, TLS and SRTP (Secure Real Time Protocol)."
Unless their is a promotion running it will be the standard 1 month protect plus trial you get.
Does this come with 6 months cloud storage? I can't seem to find how long the initial period lasts
I did read that Ring isn't encrypted when it communicates with your system. There's a lot of chatter out there about this, most of it inaccurate I'm sure, hence my questions.

We have Ring bell, cameras and other devices now i hate them. As soon as you stop subscription they start to lose stream always have connections problems and annoyingly motion sensor screams on every single movement you get on a front driveway. App is slow and at times unresponsive. The idea was good and they had a lot of potential, but now I am starting to hate ring because they are are not as good and definitely not fair. I would rather pay more and upgrade my hikvision system.
Had 19 ring devices, but recently removed 7. Customer service is horrific if something goes wrong. The usual foreign call centre thing where they are nice and all that but ultimately useless when it comes to any real help. This as a deal is good but think twice before jumping on the ring bandwagon. Deleting your videos and details off their system is impossible. We recommended a friend to ring and for some reason their account has been linked to ours (despite living in a different county). Its impossible to change this with ring.
I wouldn't worry too much about resolution. We have the Ring Pro, been working fine for over a year and the resolution to recognise faces is spot on, you can get plenty of detail from miles away on them. For people mentioning the monthly charge, you can pay annually and it's only £24.99 a year which is hardly worth worrying about. I like ours, give you some good detail on what happens at the front of the house over each day and night. The night vision is excellent.
Heat added op. My hubby got this last year on 'Prime day', and its been working fine, no problems. Easy to fit, just plugged into a socket in hallway. We have it connected to echo show's, so when the door bell is pressed, it shows straight away who is at the door, and the echo shows plays a ring tone as well, there is a few ring tones on there to choose from. You can see, hear and speak to visitors. So we didnt bother getting the Ring Chime. Very happy with it.
The Ring pro is getting on a bit and we’re desperately waiting for the Ring Pro V2. If you’re considering this I’d hand on until May when Ring are releasing the Ring Video Doorbell wired which appears to be a very decently priced version of the the Ring Pro for £49.00. https://en-uk.ring.com/products/video-doorbell-wired

Can you use these in the app without giving it location permissions? I have the YI home equivalent but the app now requires location permission which I'm not prepared to give. So I'm looking for a system which does not require location permissions to be enabled.
It supports ONVIF/RTSP so can be setup to stream to an NVR for continuous recording as this is how I have mine setup
That's a great price for a camera that could work with 3rd party software. I am tempted to try it with Blue Iris, but I already have enough cameras.

I bought the Littlelf Indoor WiFi Camera on Amazon and was quite impressed with it, looks similar to this, it was £26. It has what looks like an ethernet port for wired connection but I couldn't get it to work and there seems to be nothing in the manual about it.
Yes certainly don’t want it uploading to the cloud. Ofcourse having security settings as tight as possible is a must, but if its uploading to the cloud its only as secure as their servers are
Yes I use it on the echo however it's not very stable takes a couple of attempts to connect it to echo and then when it finally does work doesn't last long it goes after a while then you have to redo the whole procedure to get it back up. The camera itself is good on your phone and is very clear at night.
Our video monitor, Motorola, does not work with live feed on the phone, as it is not via Wi-Fi. It has its own monitor. At the time I've got it, I don't think there were any to live feed on the phone. Live feed on the phone may be good when you go out and you have a baby sitter, but for you at home, a designated monitor may be better. It will be faster and no risks of hacking. My personal opinion, and I'm not that concerned with others hacking, I've got plenty of smart devices in my home. Eufy has a good monitor for £100 when on sale. Don't know if it works with the phone, as it has its own screen, but may worth to check. To me, live feed on the phone as an extra feature is great, but not to be used as the main purpose of the device.
Yes - I need a proper baby monitor, with live app feed on the phone... will have a look around Thanks

Depends what you want. If you are going to use the battery power only, buy the Doorbell 3 and an extra battery as charging the 2nd gen is a pain. I own Doorbell 3 and I wouldn't buy if I know what I know. I don't need removable battery as I'm going to hardwire it, video quality is exactly the same, 5 GHz WiFi connection is dropping, so I'm staying on standard, 2.4 GHz. They're almost the same doorbells, just advertised as totally different.
So wait is it worth getting this or not? Ring Doorbell 3 is £129 on Amazon now.
It's always been £89 and now it's £59 everywhere, even in your deal. You probably think it's Doorbell 2 or 3, this one in your deal has non-removable battery and it's named Ring Doorbell 2nd Generation.
wait hold on. Is it just me who sees this as £59 or is it a glitch?

This is my view if your using it outside the stated specification/purpose for that camera what do you expect. Being using a mix of 2 C100 and 2 C200 cameras since beging of year with my NVR server without any issues.
I have 4 your talking rubbish use them like the specification states and you won't have problems! theirs a reason they are called indoor cameras and why they have certain temperatures limits which means they are not suitable for outdoor use regardless of whether they are under soffits or not. Would have thought you being an electrican you would know how to follow insturctions/specs (lol) .
Nah, they just aren't very good. Like I said. By the time you buy the camera and SD card there are better products on the market.
Normal price for this
Ordered one recently. Terrible wireless strength and poor picture quality. Spent 49 on a ring indoor camera, and difference was night and day.

Itll have a plug with changebale plates to allow both.
Get onto their customer support as they’re usually pretty quick getting back to people, but sounds like a streaming issue with either your router or phone signal. If not, try resetting the whole system and set up again. If still no joy they camera(s) may be faulty and I would hope you could return for replacements. Mine have all (5) worked really well image-wise from the start without any of the issues you’ve mentioned, and even better (less false activations) since the recent firmware update.
Ive had mine a week now. They're my first cameras so have nothing to compare and i was tickled with all the functions. I reckon maybe 10% of recordings record only the first second of footage and the remainder of recording is just that as a still image. Also suffered from the green and pink pixellation at the bottom of the recording quite a bit. Theyre quick to wake up and very sensitive and ill likely keep them but quality seems to be hit and miss (as per many other reviews) and i maybe got one of the worse ones

my reply got deleted for some reason. I've just taken delivery of the Huawei tablet that was posted here couple days ago (£89 @ Currys) and first thing I did was install Ring to see if I get notifications. Looks promising so far.
On the brick to the side of the door frame. Comes with all mounting parts including wall plugs screws etc even the drill bit and screwdriver is included !
To be honest using decent double side tape would be fine. They are easy to remove whatever method you use...
The door bell is battery powered the chime section just plugs into a mains power socket. The door bell and chime connect over Bluetooth and WiFi. Any video connection is visible in app
Pretty much every authorised retailer is now selling Ring2 at the same price, take your pick; ao.com, John Lewis, Amazon, BT, there’s probably more, Costco have it bundled with a Ring plug in chime for £99 which is a very good price for the bundle.

YI Home Wireless Wifi Camera works with Alexa £19.99 delivered prime with code Sold by Seeverything UK and Fulfilled by Amazon.£19.99Amazon Deals
Yeah it’s a known issue. They recently changed the chipset in the yi home camera 1080p within the last year and I wonder if its those that have one or the other chipset that the buffering bug affects. One the plus side, there is a beta test software available from Yi (or Kami as they want to be known now) to fix the Mac and PC software for the cameras that have those newer chipsets. So there is an attempt to make progress in some areas
Did you buy your cameras from the yi official store or another 3rd party seller, I vaguely remember some other sellers were selling cameras with different stock firmware or different region firmware that had caused a few weird issues previously
It's a common issue that others, even some above are also seeing. It's not a local network problem, but appreciated in any case.
Downloaded the yi home skill as from memory there is two skills, I have the original echo show like in the picture at the top of this page and an echo show 8 both work fine. Have you got everything on the same network, make sure if you have 2.4 and 5ghz both on the same
