Amsterdam - travel with in city and around

Hi folks, I have booked my flights and accommodation for Amsterdam (travelling in Jul) we are 2 Adults travelling
Can you advise, to wander around and visit places and to do things, what is best & cheaper option - taxi, trams, local trains, buses? Is there is a day pass that works anywhere

The iAmsterdam card was quite useful when I have visited previously, reduced travel costs and entrance costs for a number of attractions

Use the trams. Haarlem is a nice visit, short trip on a train.

Iv just come back. Get the i Amsterdam card all travel included on all public transport which is great. Also lots of big discounts on things to do. It’s a no brainer

If you’re not a prude and like a giggle then honestly go visit the sex museum, it’s definitely an eye opener! There is also a very strong constant smell of shall we say greenery floating round, well there was when I went back in April
