A lot of this stuff, they made and own the rights to, seems a little stupid to remove it unless they are admitting they were pumping out unwatchable crap to pad their numbers.

It's not that. They just don't want to pay the monthly licensing fee to the writers/actors/production company when streaming numbers for given shows are flat or falling.

Knowing Disney they will rotate the content going forward and make new ads look inflated by adding it back on the service a few months or year down the line. They have had to do this after slashing new content budget substantially for next year. I will be surprised if there will be more than one new original every month in 2024.

I won't be renewing my subscription unless I get a super cheap code.

Me. I say that. How many times do you think you need to watch turner and hooch?

Thanks. Will move the kids ‘mighty ducks’ education up.

With 3 o2 sims in the house we now basically just repeatedly use 3 month free trials for Disney.

Any additions coming in or is the service just going to become worse like everything else in life? (edited)

I am sure they will continue to add content like before but it will reduce drastically next year. As thats when most budget cuts take place. Stuff for 2023 has already been commissioned and paid for.

Sorry I didn't get the option to post it into discussions on the app. Hopefully someone can move it there.

I am also assuming the removals will apply to UK's service and is not US specific. (edited)

For anyone who's seen it: was Y The Last Man any good? Kept putting off watching it because I'd read the comic, now kinda annoyed it's being pulled

Weird they're pulling their own IPs. Might be part of a future free option. Ad tier models are turning out to be quite successful and these shows might be part of the plan.
