What do you mean by "the smart function"? It is a smart tv so yes, you can run your favourite apps. But unlike Samsung or LG, you do not install your apps locally, but run URLs more or less the same way as on the web. I also have noticed Hisense offers a different list of apps for a different region. Change your country settings, save your wanted apps and enjoy. And because Panasonic, Sony, Vision, Vestel and others also use the same VEWD system and they are very easy to build, soon we should see more of them. Yes, there are two excellent IPTV apps: SmartIPTV (in beta and free) and OTTPlayer2.

inspectorhector

Declared as less than 50ms, think some of the online calibrators have tested it and it comes out at about 34ms if gaming is your thing. For some reason Hisense quote this figure on all their spec sheets.

Skaman

Nice one cheers.

Hisense sell themselves short on input lag. They always quote <50ms. It will be less than 50ms, usually they are around 20-30ms. I would guess 28ms input lag

Are you on wifi or ethernet? For 4K content ethernet is always advisable.

Hisense generally have good reviews on AV Forums. Toshibas are rebranded Vestel clones, I have nothing against Vestel as they've been investing heavily of late and they do have the largest share of the TV market in the EU. However, I believe Hisense are a step above Vestels given the balance of reviews, they also give a 2y warranty in the UK if you register your purchase with them. Re: the debate between 'proper' 4K vs not, the only non 'proper-4k' panel amongst TVs advertised as 4K is in the lower end LG's which use an RGBW pixel structure (the white pixel doesn't display anything) so you're getting less than true 4K resolution. Whether the human eye can discern that at normal viewing distances is another matter. There was a poster on a previous Toshiba thread banging on about the TV not being 'proper 4k' but it turned out that he was only referring to what he assumed was poor image quality from the Toshiba panel, not the resolution. Both the Toshiba you have just purchased, and the Hisense on this post here, have native 2160p panels (i.e. proper 4K).

gopolog86

they are a cheap brand and this comes from someone who owns 1 of there tvs, hisense cant compete for picture quality of the likes of Samsung, LG, Sony for example,

If it's HDR don't expect miracles, it'll be bog standard and I doubt the tv will even push 400 nits

philireland1

Not really fair comment, most things bought on ebay, amazon Tescos etc are all the same price to NI, some companys just decide not to, if even they said its an extra £10 or what ever.

Like most things if you pay significantly more you generally get more. So you could say that about any TV that is the best in its price range. To be significantly better than this you would need to at least step up to a Panasonic ex750 or a similar performing set. And even then it isn't a great leap. For that you need a Sony xe9005. Not just anything that costs more. So saying they are just good for the price means nothing in context.

OK, just good for the money then.

Jail Bars The term “banding” is sometimes used for a different problem that is also known as “jail bars” or “screen uniformity problems.” In this case, some parts of the screen are lighter than others, regardless of the intended image. Sometimes this disparity is so stark it appears as distinct vertical lines. This is copied direct from https://www.techwalla.com/articles/what-is-tv-banding

rev6

I class this as clouding. Light bleed too I guess. And the image of the dice banding :{

I didn't learn about the unchristian amorality of their parents at first. I played occasionally with their children ( the only other similarly aged children in our housing complex - there were no black families resident, only staff). As I said earlier, I far preferred being with the children and elders in the local village whenever I had the opportunity. Several months into our life in Accra I was given free-reign by my parents to come and go as I saw fit. I was in awe of everything I discovered living under rocks or in the bush; often closely triggering a breakdown in my mother as I brought quite a range of deadly wildlife into my bedroom. The American kids were not very nice, constantly bragging about the quality of life they enjoyed compared to the locals. I tried several times to get them to visit the villagers with me to see for themselves how much enjoyment the local kids got from life but their parents refused ever to let them out of the compound. Just 7 it took me a while to catch on to their mission in Africa.

bootneck42

AAHHHHH, I think i get it now, so your friends parents Fridge put you off ALL Amercan people for life, and not the fact that they where Christian Fundamentalists or believed all Africans where Uncivilised Heathens, yet you don't like the population of one of the largest countries in the world because of a kitchen appliance! Makes total Sense!......... :/

loiterer

Their fridge, like everything else in their apartment, had been shipped over from the USA as no other countries made such obscene refrigerators in the early 1960's. The entire family were also Christian Fundamentalists opined African's were uncivilised heathens. My parents loathed them and it was that morning on seeing the contents of their fridge that it dawned on me why my father and mother took such a disliking to them.

bootneck42

That’s a great story, you should sell that to Steven Spielberg, and he could most certainly made milk a Trilogy out of it! Oh no wait, he’s an American, and you hate them all because of a fridge, that was more than likely made in Asia, which you seen in a house in Ghana, Africa!...........🤪😳🤭

TCL 43 inch 4k HDR10 for 300 on Amazon. Not sure if freesat looks to be a better tv.

alan_warhurst

Go for the Samsung, has HDR which makes more of a difference than the 4k

chrisnbourne

I've got the 49" version and it's a superb TV - couldn't recommend it highly enough for the cost. Sound isn't up to much but that's easily fixed with a sound bar. For gaming it's great - have a PS4, Switch and 4K PC connected to it and the picture is lovely. Don't bother with the Game Mode option though - looks washed out. I just use the Standard mode and that's perfect. 4K Netflix, YT and Amazon Prime look incredible.

ses6jwg

I fancy a new 43 inch but it's got to have a freesat tuner Any recommendations around the 300 quid mark?

ciaranmcw92

I have the 50" version - just adding my comment from back in December - Link " I bought this when there was 10% of in Argos. TV is great. Picture looks good with a bit of tweaking. If I had to buy again, I probably would have went for the HDR model, but I don't know if I would really notice the difference without it to be honest. Pros : Huge Netflix, Plex, iPlayer, YouTube etc. 3 HDMI 4k Netflix and YouTube lools excellent Cons: No HDR Opera store is sh*t - don't expect anymore apps than the normal UK Catch Up, Netflix, YouTube and Plex. A little slow in the menus for smart apps. (I use a fire TV so this is no effect of me but I imagine it would get frustrating) I use a sound bar so can't comment on the sound. It seemed decent when I used it without the sound bar for a little while. I would think it is the best value for money right now. "

Build quality is good, solid construction, metal bezel rather than plastic. I would say this one is more sturdy than a 65 inch from Samsung or Sony. However that's not saying how good picture quality and reliability are. I saw this one in Currys and it was rather dim, lacking contrast and decent black levels. It's might have just been the way it was set up but it looked noticeably poorer than other sets on display. Viewing angle was also poor. That said the equivalent model from last year the 65K5510 got a great review. I would hesitate to pay £699 when you can get the better 65m6800 (good review) for £749 with a price match (Currys) at John Lewis. But if you are buying get it from Richer Sounds with a 6 yr warranty and see a demo first.

supermann

Just wonder what the build quality of this TV is like. The smaller TVs have a really cheap feel to them. Not sure I'd want to spend £699 on a Hisense TV. I bought a cheaper one myself and was really gutted when I realised what it was like, it made the five year old LG TV I'd sold look quite good. Was probably worth it for 4k and wifi though.

Just to add my data point to the mix. I popped into Richer Sounds Nottingham on Saturday and asked if they would price match. The guy said they only price match against a similar warranty, and of course they offer 6 years and Curry's don't. He also said it was academic at the moment as they don't have stock. Funny you should say that - I was in Costco Edinburgh today and saw the N6200 with a decent display source - a file called “World Cup 4K demo-100mbps.mp4” which looked to be a mix of real life footage and FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer video game footage. It’s about a 3-4 minute video that is on loop. Thankfully no sign of the vertical banding that I suffer from on my Sony 65W855C. That said, a couple of minor niggles - the footage did feel slightly juddery once or twice, and the crowd - particularly on the video game - seemed to flicker very slightly. Unfortunately it created enough doubt in my mind to rule this one out as an upgrade option and your comments really only confirm that.

Panadolax

A6200 is horrible TV. Just picked one up and will return later on. Fast paced background scenes are pixelated. Also abrupt quick moves makes edges of characters pixelated. Tried 4k movies and Netflix 4k. Also TV doesn't play 4k mkv from external HDD just loads it up for ever..

Michael_Peart

I’m at Costco Edinburgh just now. They have the H65A6200 on display just now - probably about 30 units available. There’s a World Cup MP4 on loop at the moment won’t ‘Ultra HD’ in the title which looks utterly awful - colours all over the place. To the credit of the staff they’ve acknowledged this and are away finding a different source. I get the feeling the TV hasn’t been on display that long. Panadolax

Don't bother Geebsie. I picked a6200 today and compared it to lg 60uj634v which i picked from Edinburgh Costco 2 months back. Hisense is a horrible set. No mkv 2160p played(stuck on loading screen) when i connected external hdd, just 1080p. Playing 4k movies from netflix and through xbox one there is a lot of pixelisation in background. For example two people talk in moving car and trees and hedges in background are just ugly pixels (4k babysitter movie) . Also when a character moves quickly from place to place (guardians of the galaxy 2 4k) his/her edges pixelise for a second. hisense h65a6200 gets official no buy stamp from me and going back to costco as soon as my wife brings back my car from shopping :)
