My only concern here is the lack of OIS v the Pro. Thoughts?

All the reviews I've seen say it's the best IPS they've experienced. Not seen one in the flesh so I can't comment from personal experience.

I was surprised when they gave me the return address as Spain, was expecting China, so it will be around £20 including insurance to send it back. If the Mi 10 isn't back Friday then I"ll keep the 10T.

That's good to know, personally having that confirmed I would keep it by all means wait until Friday but I doubt Xiaomi UK are going to drop price any lower, and basically they are the same price with the Xiaomi discount and it was only the warranty that was the difference. Also you'd have the hassle and worry of sending it back ( will it get there safely ). Thanks for letting us know

Have been in touch with Xiaomi UK customer services asking if these phones would be covered by their warranty. They first said if it came from Spain it could be providing it had been officially imported into the EU and duty paid there was a good chance it would be. I was asked to send them the IMEI of my phone as this was the only way to prove it was a legitimate import , which I did. It's taken them three days to come back to me , probably as they have been busy with the sale, and they have confirmed the phone is covered by the UK warranty. Now I'm in a quandary as I have asked the seller if I can send it back and they've agreed, shall I keep it ? Will wait until Friday and see if there are any better offers before deciding. In the mean time the phone is still sat sealed in it's box.

Yeh.. they delivered it a day later. Cracking phone

I completely agree with you on that. Phones are for quick snaps. If you want a decent photo to capture an important memory, the camera wins every time (in my case, a Panasonic G80).

I’m not denying it’s a better camera on the pro, but for the extra cost it’s not for me. ive a dedicated Panasonic TZ80 camera , whilst it’s only 30mp its a much better camera than any camera on a phone. ive paid £510 for the Mi 10T plus the scooter , which I intend to sell for upwards of £200, leaving me with a phone for about £300

That's not really the point though. Both the 64 and 108 MP cameras use pixel binning. The 64 MP camera won't be set to 64 MP by default, either. In theory, you should get better shots from a 108 MP camera than a 64 MP, but I've got no experience of using one so I couldn't say whether that's true in practice.

Mine not arrived yet, estimated 9th Nov, what reviews I’ve read have been impressed with the screen, I’m going from a Mi 8

Scooter deal was a good deal. I was looking at importing the Pro from Eglobal at £405. What's the screen like?

How will i charge it ? Eu plug im guessing can i use a converter

The cost of tax I guess. If you are looking to buy from China direct it may be worth hanging on for a week for the big sale to start next Wednesday

The - still valid - offer Switchy placed few weeks ago, on Mix 3 5g seems to be a way better one. Is there any particular reason to select Mi 10t over Mix 3 5g?

FYI: Exactly same as Redmi K30S launched in China last week. Redmi k30s 8GB+128GB sells for CNY 2599 with a potential CNY 300 off voucher. Bring to cost to below 300 GBP. Same condition with Oneplus. The oneplus 8t is cny 3399, which is around gbp400, but sells for gbp 549 here. Just cannot believe.

They also have a website - I had a brief look the other day. Thanks again!

Download the app Cellmapper. Then put in what network you use. Then zoom into where you live (on the map) and you'll see lots of (I think green) dots that is where the masts are. It will then say what band is being used. If you see any that are only band 20 then you won't get a signal because there is no band 20 on the ultra (although you could get 3g I'm not sure). If it's like my area (Lincs and Midlands) almost every mast uses band 3 or 7 or both so should be ok. Hope that helps!

I used to think that (heck I only just relinquished my old NiMh driven policy of charge to 100% only when next to empty), but I read somewhere that the lithium based batteries actually enjoy (I don't know the technical term) fast charging. Seems counter intuitive to me - any experts care to comment? This seems like a decent write up https://www.cnet.com/how-to/does-fast-charging-affect-battery-life-6-phone-battery-questions-answered/ I have also read that cold weather is bad too (increasing internal resistance IIRC).

Genuine question - how do you know - I have never been able to find a source of the info.

Ok in small doses perhaps. The debutantes scene put me off 🤢
