Old phone s10 into security camera

Posted 13th May 2023
Any free apps that I could use on my old phone to turn it into a camera. Ideally something that senses motions. We are sharing accommodation at the moment so I'd like to keep an eye on my things

2nd vote for Alfred. Works well. But you'll need to keep it powered up all the time

Alfred here too. It can use a truly old Android (Huawei Y300 circa 2014) handset as a camera. The app for viewing is compatible only with more recent OS versions - Android 5.0, iOS 11 and higher.

Curveball option of hilariously minimal £3.88 Amazon Prime or pickup to obtain a very discreet 25mm cube-cam solution complete with (limited) nightvision.
Has a small internal battery but needs USB supply for extended periods; USB cable supplied.
    Selectable motion and sound detection.
MicroSD card slot if you wish to record.
Access live view from anywhere if the cam has access to a suitable wifi network,
or can access locally via its own hotspot.
Obviously not broadcast-quality results and quite clunky but should tick OPs boxes.
Search Amazon for "CCHZ hidden" or the ASIN is B0BWN2BTRQ. (edited)

On my things! My belongings in my room! Lol. The door is locked but there are emergency extra keys.
