Twitter Blue cheap via VPN?

Posted 27th Mar 2023
I understand that many aren't interested in this but for people who might be, do you know if it's possible to get it cheaper via a VPN? A bit like how people do with YouTube Premium or other services? If so, any idea where is the cheapest?

So it's £11 per month through the app, or £9.60 through the web (no app store fee). I tried it with a free VPN, and it says it's cheaper for some other countries, lowest of about €8 (£6.88), but you have to also select that as your debit/credit card country. I assume if you don't have a card from that country the payment will fail. However, when I tried Ireland/Netherlands VPN and then changed to UK, it says €9.60 (£8.26) rather than £9.60. So if that's correct it could be a saving of £1.34pm, or maybe it just hasn't changed the currency symbol and will charge £9.60 - I'll leave that to someone else to test.

I can't think of anything I'd rather do less than pay for Elon Musk's crazy, pathetic adventure.

Using VPN set to Turkey works fine, and payment goes through no issue, £45 for annual, and £4 monthly

Have you tried subscribing while using a VPN to see if the price changes?

I tried using Turkey VPN and it showed 1569.99 TRY per year which is around £65 instead of the regular £100. I did not try paying it as I am not sure. Musk is quite a bad guy when it comes to money he might just disable blue for such users and not offer any refund as he is very picky on charging money from everyone.

Also I am not sure if it will change the feed algorithm to show more Turkish content or just prioritize my tweets to the Turkish audience only . I need to research further before I complete the payment step.

Check on YouTube and see what people suggest. (edited)

Did anyone find out whether this works or not? £11 is a bit steep, it's more expensive than the US equivalent too. All I wanna be able to do is change my theme colour on the app lol.

I can't confirm anything sadly. Not had a chance to check. I'd like to get it for many reasons but just need to get time. When I tried on my phone it didn't work but maybe on a pc with a private tab and a VPN it'd work. Might try later if my work laptop will let me.

One thing I noticed is that I'm currently in Sweden and the price is still pounds so I think it's linked to the account country. (edited)
