Prescription medication

Posted 23rd Jun 2023
Can anyone please help with this? Daughter flying to New York on weekend for camp America, she's taking with her 3 months of prescription hayfever tablets and her contraceptive pill. As we've never been, does she need to declare it? Thanks

Go to the pharmacy and ask for a print out of the medication. Ask them to stamp it and sign it

    fda.gov/con…ons

There's a helpline number in the article if you need further clarification. Better safe than sorry with US Federal agencies I'd say.

If medication is labelled then shouldn't be a problem.

No issue with the contraceptive pill. So long as the hayfever tabs are packaged, no issue. If you want to be extra safe take copies of the prescription. US customs can be a bit randomly odd about some things. I think the rule used to be a limit of 90 days supply.

I didn’t have to, but then nobody ever asked, that was 8 years ago though

that was a lot of medication too, 5 different types (edited)

Everything should be in its packaging so that it is obvious just by reading the label.

Never had an issue anywhere in the world with prescription medication.

However, even with an actual physical prescription I would be wary about taking opiate based medication (codeine for example) to certain parts of the world.
