you are on hukd when has pixel 2 ever cost 600quid? pixel 3a is 3xx atm so a bit over double also thats not the point, most people have a phone anyway so for many its not an extra expense but most importantly the whole point was 'a dedicated camera is always better than a phone' - always better it says and clearly that is not true. if you check the cameras against pixel 2 there then actually they are more expensive than this camera anyway
I'm not really sure that's a good comparison Pixel2 costs 4x more than this camera and is noted to have the best camera of any phone, The phone that clearly takes the best picture, costs 4x as much as this camera and is the best camera on any phone, so not sure it's a fair comparison. How does it compare to my £130 Moto g6 camera would be a much more useful comparison And my phone takes great pics close up in bright light , but this has a 40x optical zoom, I'd be using them for different things
Sorry, yes I have read it but zoom aside. My camera (albeit quite old) does struggle to compare with an S8 in terms of light capture unless it's on a bright sunny day. Even indoor fairly well out rooms shoes much better lighting on the S8. From what I've read, as technology advances, so will cameras. But they talk about 'high end' cameras will survive as phone cameras compete well with compacts in both picture quality and convenience. What I can't really find out is at what rough price range do cameras produce picture quality that's hands down better than phones.
you've obviously not read the thread as you've fallen into that old thinking trap how is the s8 at 20x zoom?
After I dusted off my old Lumix tz55, I realised the photos I'm getting with these are horrendous especially compared to my Samsung s8 phone. Thought it was time to update to get some Nice photos for holidays. Bit of a generalised question but what is the rough price range of cameras which takes better photos than phones these days? Obviously cheaper the better.
