Afraid not, but will post back when I do...I'm very lazy! Unless the other half starts nagging it will be a couple of weeks as I'll need to do some homework on how to fit taps as not very DIY inclined, sorry! On appearance though it does look better quality than the Ikea tap it will be replacing that cost twice as much...not sure if that helps!!

Have you installed it yet, any thoughts on quality?

Update: Having just been to pick mine up it's branded up on the box as Cooke & Lewis 'CLAVEY' so the tap does seem to be the same as the one listed on the B&Q website for £124 -

Nice find. heat added by me

Definitely a good deal for this type of tap, and with the Screwfix 10y warranty. Any issues and you should be able to get a replacement with the receipt. Heated.

yes, b&q and screwfix are the same company

Purchased and DIY fitted in less than an hour. Delighted to find the box included 2 flexible connectors for the price and that the tap is guaranteed for 10 years.

You want one of these - pure majj gadget especially at night!

Probably. Bought it off screwfix for £30. It's not a Cooke and Lewis though. Good news is it's only for the spare utility kitchen and not the main. For that I bought a nice £100 one from Screwfix.

Weve got this exact tap in our kitchen think we paid about £30. I changed the tip for a swivel aerator from amazon as well.

No, I'll fit it myself when I replace the kitchen in the autumn. Taps are pretty straightforward to fit, spend some time on YouTube and if you feel confident enough give it a go.

You don’t sound like a Happy bunny at all !! (embarrassed)

I'll end up ripping the dam thing out when I see it!

Nice little hack on the surface but the amount of tape you will use each time you want to use it will eventually cost more than adaptor itself.

No need to fit one I have the zedra great brand would go for one which has a pull out

Does anyone know if you can fit an aerator to this tap or whether it has one built in? Our current Ikea tap just spews water out and means you're constantly wiping up excess water spills and as a result has pretty much spoilt black kitchen sink with white water stains!! Still, its what the other half wanted (annoyed) Obviously the kids can't be bothered to clean up any excess water after they've made a mess (mad)

Grohe is one of the best brand for taps. You don't want to go cheap with taps as it's a pain to replace if they start leaking, and costly if you need to get a plumber out.

Thanks, I happen to have a dripping kitchen tap, so quite tempted - a slow delivery would suit me too, then I would have to fit it over the bank holiday. :)

56.50 with royalmail delivery (cheapest option) I'd rather pay the extra 3.50 for amazon's return policy I bought a variation of this tap a few years back and it's great. Highly recomment

expired. was about to buy as well and they've put it up to over a grand. what a joke.

I might be looking at this wrongly or missing something but don't you use energy to keep the water at boiling temp all the time?

I think so yes, Most likely power near as dishwasher in etc We have these at work, to be honest its nothing special...

Not everyone does, I agree, but a very high or very low temperature is usually a good indication. I'm talking about people complaining anyway, not the post temp

I usually buy 240 kettles

Was put on here Nov 2017 but was £14.99 then, seems to be order in for next day collection.

Bought similar one from Lidl £20 in chrome, very good quality . If black colour is compatible with your kitchen then £12 is a bargain

Good find

I picked one up for £20 from Wickes and it looks fantastic and works fantastic. Good find!

Lol, just been and ordered one for pick up. Im 100% sure this was £19.99 last week because I checked on Friday.

I've been after something like this. Does it work as a good replacement for a kettle? Do you still need to plumb in hot water for non-boiling water?

Whole of my kitchen cost only that much..

This is indeed a good price. Looks to include the 'old' model insinkerator boiler, but that shouldn't put you off buying one.

Not true, and if it was it would be a stupid design. Monobloc taps like this design can still control the heat, they mix the hot and cold water so you can have cold , tepid , warm and full hot and everything in between.

£49.99 Now :(

Its back to £50

Collected and fitted mine today. Some of the comments on here are correct. It is a pain to fit and will be a pain to disassemble when the time comes. Can't see it lasting very long. The flexible hose connecting the shower head to the tap base feels cheap. Overall I'd say if you're on a budget and have a couple of hours to spare go for it. If you can afford a bit more i would definitely buy something different.

We had this design of tap purchased from Lidl. The metal split and broke of at the bottom of the tube where the spray head pushes in, it was my brother's fault though, because he wouldn't support the spout when he pressed the black spray/jet button, and the body of the tap appeared to be made of 100% zinc rather than brass, judging by the silver colour of the metal where it broke off.. Other issues we had was black mould were water was getting under the black plastic button cover. The tap was a bit low to fill a jug kettle, and the flowrate was poor. After a couple of years the wire braiding protecting the various flexi-pipes frayed injuring hands if touched while reaching under the sink. We also had issues with the flexi-pipes that connect the spout loosening themselves when the spout was swung, after a few weeks of use - I'd recommend using a sealant to stop them undoing and leaking. The other issue I had was with fitting/removing ours because there are four tubes feeding into the base and there wasn't any space between the feed tails and the nuts that clamp the tap to the sink for the thickness of a box spanner, so I had to use open ended spanners in very confined access as the sink was already fitted, making the Lidl one a right royal pain to fit. Hopefully the screwfix one is better quality and has a bit more space. I learn't my lesson and replaced mine with a much more expensive bristain tap

Franke Zurich - Chrome Kitchen Monoblock Tap - £70 at B&Q (

I always use Franke taps and I an ex plumber. The last one I bought I paid £50 from Amazon. If you must have that exact model then there is £5 saving buying if from B&Q but if you can settle for another equally good Franke tap you can save even more, only £54.89 in the marketplace. You might argue the other one looks better as it doesn't have the black piece of plastic on the spout. Yes, you're saving a fiver let's not get too excited.

That's 10% more for a start! I treat 10% as a good saving and that doesn't include shipping so it costs £82.73.

I have a Franke mixer tap in my kitchen. It has had the neck, both ceramic disc assemblies and neck seals x2 replaced within the 5 year warranty. Franke customer services were very helpful with the replacement parts. But I still had to physically change them. The neck is leaking again now and one of the ceramic disc assemblies is failing. Due to the design I am unable to remove the cover to the assembly without damaging it. The tap is now 6 years old. I replaced my bathroom tap around the same time with cheap a non-branded mixer tap from B&Q. It is still working fine. I know the bathroom tap gets less use but it has made me wonder if the expense of the Franke tap was worth it, or was I just unfortunate enough to get a Friday afternoon tap or one subject to a Chinese test.

Not exactly a bargain as they are £77 in Plumbworld. I always go for Franke.

Franke is a quality make. Had my kitchen set for 20 years and are still excellent. Never a problem.

I love the review - trying to justify the unjustifiable. Of course it costs much more to run than using a kettle - its basic physics , you can't get heat for free ! ! You would not leave your oven on 24hrs and claim it costs about the same as heating it up a couple of times a day. Oh and don't forget the ridiculously overpriced £80 filter you have to change every 5-12 months on these ! ! Remember you can buy an instant hot water kettle for as little as £40 If you want one of the then fair enough , but don't try and kid yourself they are anything but a costly extravagance

Thank you for your review.. I was just curious on cost, it hasn't effected my decision as I bought it as soon as I'd posted my last comment. Another plus for me is I don't like clutter on the work tops, so the kettle out of the way is another big plus. Thanks very much to the OP and both of you for replying, trawling around for a price comparison shows this to be a very good price indeed.

This would depend entirely on its usage , these can be more efficient than boiling a kettle. How many of us will ...... Boil a kettle and only use half or two thirds of the water ? = wasted energy Put the kettle on , then go and do something else while its boiling and forget it , then have to re-boil ? = wasted energy These are factors that contribute considerably to the energy consumption used. The convenience of having instant near boiling water is , for us as a family of 5 , is massive. When cooking , adding boiling water to rice for example ,straight from the tap and the exact amount you need ! Having guests round and making 7 or 8 coffees , all instantly made where as before we had to make half then refill and boil the kettle a second time to make the other half , far from ideal really. I did do the maths on this when we bought ours as energy costs have to be brought into the equation for anything like this , not just the purchase price. My conclusion was that the difference was pretty negligible , could have gone either way. Not forgetting that there are so many variables that require an estimated guess on usage / current wastage etc. You would be surprised how little energy it actually used to maintain the boiling water in the tank , although the tank is only a relatively small 4 litres anyway , it really doesn't take much at all. I didn't buy it to save money , we bought ours on the assumption that it would pan out to cost approx. the same as we are spending now on using a kettle but with the added convenience and added workspace in our kitchen without having a kettle taking up much needed work space . We have no regrets whatsoever with ours , one of the best buys we made for our new kitchen in fact ;)

No way will it be as economic as a kettle. Says it uses a 4 litre boiler, so on top of its electricity usage to heat the water, which will be the same amount as a kettle would use (providing you don't overfill it), it will also be using a small amount of electricity constantly to keep the water in the boiler hot.

Voted hot for the value of the item. Regardless of whether you think a kettle is better/cheaper you can't buy this particular item cheaper.

My eBay one is still going strong, had a slight leak from where the spray spout extends above the tap but a quick tighten of the nut and all is good.

after buying both , theres no comparison on build quality. the matalan is a LOT heavier and better made , the ebay one feels light and you can tell where they cut the corners with the brass internals . the clip for the spray is constructed better, and plastic better quality on it too on the handle . def go for the matalan one !

If it helps I bought this tap at christmas think I paid £59.99 Matalan then but I can confirm it is a brilliant tap for the money, you won't be disappointed.

That is a made in HK sold by HK company... Difficult to compare a 1y warranty where you will need to ship back to HK (often do) and UK retailer and 'life time warranty' I am all for buying cheap Chinese copy but not so sure I like the risk with mains water.... Though it may be a good product that works just as well or I missed something between the two

But is it manufactured by the same company?
