The mince is great, makes cooking so much quicker and easier & very healthy too. We use this mince all the time. I picked some up on Thursday but didn't think to put it on here. It scanned through at full price at my store but they put it through at the sale price so just double check it
I love the pieces, I’ll definitely have to stick a couple of bags in the freezer at that price! Thanks OP (y)
You know it is not that bad if they could just make the texture have a little more bite I would not be able to tell it apart from mince.
I have been curious about this for a while now, i think i will grab a bag and make a pot of mince to see how it comes out.
Still wouldn't make any difference to me, I'm not vegan/vegetarian/pescatarians or flexitarian. Just like to try other types of food.
My bad indeed - I should have read more carefully - fixed now. Thanks for spotting. (highfive)
FYI your title says that fillets are on offer, but they're not. It's only worth stocking up on most frozen Quorn when it's on offer for £1, which sadly the fillets aren't anywhere at the moment.
Leave a pack or two for fellow shoppers - will you ;)
I'm going to buy all of them when I go Morrison's. I can't eat chicken after gym in the house because mum is vegetarian 🙄
I wouldn't touch this stuff, it was developed by ICI and is grown in vats. Some people have bad allergic reactions to it as well. Just have real vegetables and mushroom instead of meat.
Got nothing against most Quorn products, but this stuff is no substitute at all. It's tasteless and soggy when cooked. Yum!
I prefer supermarkets own soy mince over quorn which is made from some scary lab grown mould? Gotta give credit to Quorn they do have a great range of products and some of it is better than supermarkets stuff but I don't rate the mince that highly. I cant tell a product is Quorn it has that odd smell to it. Though the soy stuff has a distinct smell too it doesn't bother me like Quorn.
I find to get flavour in there you really need to fry it at a hot temperature until it browns a bit. It also gives it a nicer texture. It will pop and spit but persevere with it.
I get it from Ocado, they always have offers on though. Such a 5 Frys items for a tenner. It's such nice stuff, especially the fake chicken escalopes!
They are produced by Gregg's so probably the reason they are good
Bought some today in Chelmsford 🖒
These are nothing short of fabulous. We've had several boxes at the higher price.
Southend had some but at 50p so likely reduced further.
Great news! I just finished my supply of mince pies about a week ago.
Nice, will get some Saturday. Heat added.
It works out at £4.39 per kg. Considering ALDI is £4.48 per kg BUT that's 12% fat, this is a very good deal. Heat from me thanks.
point taken, I agree this is a very good deal, have some heat!
its steak mince
Think this is a bigger pack, but could be wrong.
If meat is murder, is Quorn wasting police time?
I'm sure it's this price normally in Aldi
Yes love walls mmm
Stick with a known brand such as Wall's sausages mate! XD
Mince pies for dogs...omg...what...why? Do dogs know it's xmas
Had to give you Pedigree for the description ....never knew we had dog Bakers.....
Bow how did you did you make such a mistake! Didn't you have any Chum to point it out? No Pal to stop you? Ah well, lets hope you Winalot of heat for it :)
You must be barking mad if you want to eat these pies!!!
(horror) Sugared Fried bites No thanks
Southern Fried Quorn is insane. So moreish! Not a veggie but much prefer indulging in this compared to dodgy mashed up chicken.
I buy the normal quorn nuggets for my kids but they much prefer the southern bites, as does my husband. I've never seen them at £1 a bag so got a few today. :)
They're about the same. I'm not a big nugget eater but an looking for alternative to processed meat
Yeah they're nice but I've only tried the crispy nuggets have you tried them and the southern fried bites which did you like best?
Plymouth branch on hoegate st was giving these away for nothing on Friday very nice indeed
I resisted yesterday but today I couldn't :( now over 500 kcal more already
I think that might be short for irresistible....
Inner park road London. It's on the receipt. Price will be store dependant. They have been 50p and 25p in two stores I have been in this week.
90 Inner Park Road Wimbledon London SW19 6DA 02087 890335
Bd14 it was near the doughnuts cookie's
If your local one has a Gluten Free section, then any residual Christmas lines (mince pies, xmas pud, cake bites, choc coins etc) should be reduced at the moment to make way for the new range.
Well that beats the 30p Aldi ones I polished of last night
If I eat one more I will turn into a mince pie.
Actually they taste very nice. I ate 2 boxes already :D
In truth they're actually not too bad, despite what others have said. I have had a couple of boxes of these this year and they're just as good as others we've also had. For 10p you can't go far wrong!
They’re dreadful in truth (excited)
To be totally fair all free from food tastes awful lol
There's a reason they've got excess stock of these. They're awful
same in asda old kent road expire 24th jan
Same in my local ASDA though I'm sure the cheap ones said 23p.. I bought the extra special ones. I think its more than fair price but I understand some people get their mince pies reduced even further
Same in Swansea Morriston store too
Obviously, but my mobile know better.
It's unreal all these Asda deals for reduced price mince pies, sprouts, parsnips etc... I placed an order online for collection on the 27th December and when I went to collect at my local store had no mince pies, no sprouts, no parsnips, no potatoes, no trifle and no flu/cold relief tablets. Hot for the deal, and i'm jealous to all those who can get the mince pies in particular.
Loads in my store just now but only bought a couple of packs. About 10 days on them as well. They were doing 6 packs of the gluten free "free from" ones one 10p as well (compared to Tesco charging £1.75 for their pear mince pies)
These are yummy - my fave shop-bought mince pies 😊
still 90p at my local
They are selling taste the difference mince pies (boxes of 6) with real mince meat and brandy filling at my local for 20p but i dont like real mince meat filling or brandy. i bought a vegeratrian box of 6 at m&s for 80p but wish i hadnt as now i remember i dont like mince pies :( Must make a note not to buy again next christmas! :D
Don't let the others on the 10p mince pie deal see this, they'll rip your head off for posting this going by the comments on that thread lol (excited) https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/sainsburys-bakery-mince-pies-10p-a-pack-of-4-2869835#comment-32975412 ps heat added here too op (y)
Got a few packs earlier very nice. Store basic ones were 50p.
My Hubby has same problem as Broxy. Not a healthy choice for everyone.
Last 2 times I had this it made me ill.
Anyone else use supermarkets own mince? For anyone interested Quorn uses their own creation called mycoprotein a protein derived from fungi while others like supermarkets own meat free mince is soya protein. Heat added anyway but you need to change it, 500g for £1.39 not 350g. Morrisons have the 300g packs for £1 (a little more than 500g for £1.39 at Tesco) along with many other £1 Quorn products.
wow that is a good deal... thanks
It's 500g not 350g so even better
What are you talking about? What a windmill you are please leave it as it is.
Meat products are shaped for convenience, just like vegan products. Do you expect Vegan products to all come in some new shape or something?
Thanks OP. Time to stock up! Although, remember Iceland have had the 500g pieces and mince for £1.39 which may suit if you have one close by.
I'm no veggie by any stretch of the imagination, but those nuggets are delicious. There a very good alternatives to the mashed up beaks an bums from birds eye etc. The other stuff I'm no fan of. The burgers are rank. But Tesco own meat free burgers are quite meaty an moist. Official quorn burgers are to dry imho.
Recently discovered the nuggets, taste and texture very very similar to Mcdonalds chicken nuggets, now converted, less fat and calories
x3 my ASDA had some in today yet they didn't have any on the 1st for 38p
Dammit I paid 38p haha
Frome were £1.50 this afternoon
Sure these are very nice, but not a patch on Aldi's chocolate orange mince pies, though they're not reduced!!!!!!!
Bought Lidl Mince Pies this year (Favorina) and they were gorgeous - and vegan too! Will definitely get them next year.
If not 50p, then how much? ;)
