I know I can bake some at home but it’s time consuming & so much more convenient to just pop to the shops and get some. We have xmas pudding anytime during the year as I always buy a few at Xmas as they last a long time. But I take you point!

F9T

Are these in the small tesco's or just big ones?

caraid_alba

The iced ones always seem to be out of stock. I have ordered anyway. Cheers. Heat given.

thedvdmonster

Knew this deal would pop up, glad I avoided buying em last week.

DealJourno

I think you are still allowed to bake your own anytime you want. The filling is always cheap after Christmas and lasts ages.

I have complained a few times about this in our local store. Always. Check. Your. Receipt.

ryanreed92

I noticed that they had mislabelled after I paid so went to the customer service counter and they gave me the 500g for the price of the 300g.

ryanreed92

The Swedish meatballs aren't on the offer that I noticed, I did have a good nosey through.

6 packs steak mince on offer for £19.90 We always buy this when this offer comes around
sheffield788

£17 per kg original price, that is expensive. £7.54 per kg not too bad, if good quality may worth to pay £1-2 extra rather than tesco, however, with delivery cost comes at about £10 per kilo. Quite expensive, rather pay £10-15 for a mincer, buy a good piece from the butcher and do it yourself. Cheaper, and you know what is in it.

maddogb

According to the dna tests a few years ago it could well be :D

missmolly2010

Fabulous quality from Donald Russel always buy when on offer. Thanks op

joedredd

Everything I've had from Donald Russel has been excellent. I've had their steak packs and Christmas packs previously - all excellent meat and superbly packaged.

J4GG4

I don't touch tesco meat, the quality is very, very bad. Donald Russell mince is way, WAY better than any supermarket. But i've never tried costco tbh. I recommend you try Donald Russell, just once. After that you'll think Tesco meat is from a different animal entirely.

Master.G

I didn't say you did say I made any claim about health benefits

wadeywilson1

I didn't say you did make any claim about health benefits?

Master.G

I said it was odd because it's two main uses are to prevent water freezing and it's in a frozen product. I made no claim re it's health benefits.

maddogb

it's also in some tinned foods/veg usually described as a "firming agent" I'm assuming it is to stop the foods absorbing too much water so as to keep their shape etc.

I’ve been over-charged before. It all balances out though XD

DSJones

Bought 2 differently-sized packets for two different meals. That’s a smaller (500g) one.

squaredoggy

And you dont check your receipt till you get home errrr, what happens if they over charge you, still dont check it!

pinkmonkey

Your comment reminds me of that Morecombe and Wise scene! Looks like a pricing error to me, correct numbers, just not in the correct order.

archie41

i just put the barcode numbers on receipt onto asda groceries. the highlighted one is the mince thats supposed to be £5.50

I love Christmas but hate mince pies. They used to have real minced meat in them and I wish they still did. Dried fruit is just disgusting. Loads of insect eggs in them too.

Normally I do my xmas shopping last minute the week before xmas. Last year I decided to do it early .. In fact exactly a full year early, and it was just as busy as ever

The mince is great, makes cooking so much quicker and easier & very healthy too. We use this mince all the time. I picked some up on Thursday but didn't think to put it on here. It scanned through at full price at my store but they put it through at the sale price so just double check it

codeine

I love the pieces, I’ll definitely have to stick a couple of bags in the freezer at that price! Thanks OP (y)

Redscoped

You know it is not that bad if they could just make the texture have a little more bite I would not be able to tell it apart from mince.

I have been curious about this for a while now, i think i will grab a bag and make a pot of mince to see how it comes out.

FYI your title says that fillets are on offer, but they're not. It's only worth stocking up on most frozen Quorn when it's on offer for £1, which sadly the fillets aren't anywhere at the moment.

Cremoso99

I wouldn't touch this stuff, it was developed by ICI and is grown in vats. Some people have bad allergic reactions to it as well. Just have real vegetables and mushroom instead of meat.

esudl

Got nothing against most Quorn products, but this stuff is no substitute at all. It's tasteless and soggy when cooked. Yum!

PizzaTheHutt.

I prefer supermarkets own soy mince over quorn which is made from some scary lab grown mould? Gotta give credit to Quorn they do have a great range of products and some of it is better than supermarkets stuff but I don't rate the mince that highly. I cant tell a product is Quorn it has that odd smell to it. Though the soy stuff has a distinct smell too it doesn't bother me like Quorn.

MonkeysUncle

I find to get flavour in there you really need to fry it at a hot temperature until it browns a bit. It also gives it a nicer texture. It will pop and spit but persevere with it.

Bovrilontoast

I get it from Ocado, they always have offers on though. Such a 5 Frys items for a tenner. It's such nice stuff, especially the fake chicken escalopes!

Quorn mince 500G at Tesco local, guessing nationwide half price of rrp, stocked up, good source of protein💪
Cremoso99

Tofu has no flavour on it's own either. Is there no vegetarian meat substitute that does have flavour?

Cremoso99

Mycoprotein - "protein derived from fungus". It's actually developed from a mould that ICI found in soil in Marlow in Buckinghamshire and is grown in big vats. Which they tend not to publicise and want people to just think of mushrooms.

PG9999

Yummy! Cheap! Better for the environment and healthier. Win win win Win!!!
