Android pay is already available, isn't it?

se23

sw3 imo. nowhere near as good looking but features leave most other smart watch in it's dust. Almost certain to get wear 2.0 and amongst other features it's the only one with a proper nfc chip, so right now it's probably the only watch out that can do android pay if/when Google get round to releasing it.

CurleyFurley

I have one and find it quite useful for a small view of your phone without needing to get the phone itself out and, on the same note, it's good for dictating a text message when you've got your hands full athoigh you do need to look a bit of nerd saying OK Google to your watch! Also a good pedometer or exercise tracker. Battery life is about 2 full days

Can I just add weight to the travesty that is SBE for phone repairs; they took in my LG tablet last year, took weeks and then returned it with a dead pixel. I had to return it for another repair and so I was out of phone use for a month and half...did I get compensate? Nope, barely an apology.

mickgoodie

which Oregon scientific watch did you buy and from where?

slliw

Looks like the watch from the Division

FireOnAWire

That us a shame. Motorola are high on my list of companies but I do hear a lot about how bad their CS is. I sent my 360 v1 in for repair once do to cracks on the back and received a replacement within 1 week.

maui

Also, I vow never to own another Motorola product after the shocking treatment I had from them... 3 repairs to my Moto 360, 2 of which were defects from the shocking repair firm SBE, they turned around and said that they would not replace after I found the side button was not working a month after the previous repair, and now stuck with a paperweight, legal action is difficult as I bought it from the US. Worth mentioning that during this time I also went through 3 x Motorola Nexus 6 phones because of inherent defects in those also.

rockbigave

100% agree with this. I don't have a 2nd gen (I have the original 360..) but to be honest it's the same for any Android Wear watch right now. Although I do wear a FitBit Charge HR on the same wrist though.. And I had that first! Fitbit has a far better social hub (Googles is is pretty non-existent) and has weekly challenges and other sources of inspiration but is extremely useless at notifying you of anything but a phone call, so worth a spot on my arm along side the 360 which does the rest.

bargainboy64

absolutely agree with your comments. I don't understand why those watches are not more popular! They're brilliant!

nascent

I have had my Moto G first gen for a year an a and love it, but it't not that cool new gadget to show off (though it does get lots of attention it noticed) it's a notification centre that's immediately viewable. Think of it more as a alternative to Google Glass than a phone. You won't stop using your phone, it's not the same thing, it's a centralised place for all notifications to go that is easier to get to than taking the phone our your pocket. Now it can do a lot more than this, and it's fitness features are very cool (though you need to carry the phone with you when running anyway as it doesn't have gps) you can find some weird gimmicky apps like playing doom on it or whatever (but it's impractical and silly) but the coolest thing bout this, is you get lots of notifications? immediately see what they are. Want to reply to that whatsapp or sms now without getting phone out pocket?, hands aren't free etc? talk to reply (voice recognition), swipe a message back (flick keyboard) delete the email, mark as read etc. Ultimately my phone use has changed a lot since getting the watch. Instead of getting the phone out my pocket every 5 mins to check what's going on and see what the new notification was, I look at my watch. I interact with the notification: delete, label, download, whatever and that's it. I get my phoe out my pocket for full conversations, for web browsing/new reading etc. I no longer need to get my phone out my pocket for the 5 second stuff. I like this because it's convenient, it's safer (I don't like walking around holding a £500 phone in the high street as there's a lot of phone thefts in the city) and one big plus for me: I don't miss notifications or calls anymore. I missed so many calls and notifications when my phone was silent, or quiet, if I was walking in a busy and loud high street, or muted in the quiet office. I missed job interviews, important family calls etc. Never again. and that's more than justified the cost of the watch for me. I understand not everyone cares enough to pay £100 on a notification centre, but that's their prerogative. I absolutely would and am glad I did.

mpfree

I had one as a present from my wife. Couldn't get on with it The Heart rate sensor didn't pick up my heartrate. The battery didn't last a full day. The apps didn't work - BBC app would show an article I'd click on it then the watch froze...... Fortunately amazon took it back Really liked the look of it and wanted to use it

gordon06

Simple option would be Fitbit Charge HR, now around £95-£100. Tracks steps/ distance & calories, also sleep and heart rate. Caller notifications.

Only thing to lookout for with the metal strap version is the watch back tends to crack. Moto will replace under warranty tho.

If its the metal banded version its worth a go if not return it simple as that, i have a 360 1st gen and its still a great watch does everything the newer one does and gets updated the same. I might take a punt.

getknk

. it got heart sensor, wireless docking charger. and round shape which I prefer

gaijintendo

If you are using it for sports, possibly. My Swr50 fell off whilst cycling to be lost forever because of a rubbish strap design. Aside from the strap and my grievance, the swr50 is pretty much perfect, and I am yet to see a compelling reason to spend more on a watch for any meaningful features.

emJayO

Genuine question, but is this really worth the £60 over the Sony Smartwatch 3?

Good price, I paid £168 for mine from Amazon UK though. Through a price match chat. Good watch, but just for runners and has it's faults. Screen is way better than the Sony and interface is better than TomTom runner. Plus you can wear it to work. Only good for running at the moment though as not expanded the app to other sports yet. I would recommend buying from UK Amazon so you can return easily if you don't like it. I was close to returning mine, but it has grown on me.

You have a friend called massive who needs this watch? This is basically what you just wrote.

Shard

Have you updated it? I know it was meant to have been slow in the past but that was fixed a while ago.

Shard

I have this watch and it's great. I was forever missing phone calls before as I wear headphones in work, I like the fact that I can change the display every few days and the displays are good looking, I don't miss texts when I'm in Asda, etc. For me it's a bit like a tablet in that it's one of those things you have to try to see if you really have a need for one. And of course, the obligatory matrix watch face :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-nwzgAmq2o
