Actually I initially commented in the first person that I myself was assuming rather than asking you. Don't get touchy on websites

timidluke

Yes, already posted it before your reply. Would of been even easier if the description was posted in the description...

Davejay81

...has anyone ever tried the Farming Sim games? The named ones.. not the random "Real Farm" and all that.. I'm not into them, got a freebie and the wee man just drives about in a tractor.. BUT curiosity and all that, had a 5 minute shot ended up ploughing up fields, planting crops, starting a chicken business.. the detail in what you have to do is actually nuts! Decent if you're into that type of thing, but I felt Forza and FIFA best fit my plans haha

mcek

Does it have the fabled tortoise and hare settings?

Magnetic Hall Effect sensors for the stick.

Dodge62

X, Y and Z axes are all analogue, not binary on/off so I guess they must be potentiometers.

Picard123

Does the joystick part of this use potentiometers or is it still microswitches?

flegg

That's pretty good TBF, thanks for posting have been waiting for this to come down!

Farming Simulator 17 released in 2016 and still has monthly online peaks over 10,000. That's better than a lot of AAA games! xD. I imagine you can use the button panel to do stuff if for some reason you hated voice attack.

Izu

Part of me wants to figure out how to play Stardew Valley with this kit, hah. Might work pretty well as an overall control kit if you rebound stuff to macros and the like since there's a fair few controls in this kit, but that'd be pretty niche use. Niche use for niche hardware. (embarrassed)

sleepymike29

High spec not required.

paul_merton

Hmm, do I spend £130 on this, plus £1,000 on a decent gaming rig so I can enjoy playing an almost realistic farming simulator? ... or do I just become a farmer and get paid £25,000/year for an even more realistic experience?

Stephen2407

Heat added, a great piece of kit. If I never had my t500rs and a extreme 3d joystick I would have got this!

I was using the steam controller when playing elite. It worked pretty well. - A LOT better than mouse \ keyboard.

MikeMaMan

Is this is the old model? I think i have this in my garage. Bought it many years ago. It is a good product!

AceRimmer15

I never could get on with this stick for the year or so I had it. Although I'd struggle to say why tbh. I ended up paying more and getting the Thrustmaster Warthog which is admittedly in a different league price wise (as well as quality and performance) It's a thing of beauty and it was worth the cost to me given what I've spent on DCS World software at this point. But this isn't a bad price for somebody who wants a half decent option with plenty of buttons etc. It has the benefit of a twist function also for rudder input which is fairly handy for more casual gamers who don't need the hassle and cost of separate rudder pedals.

simonfear51

I went with pimax 4k great piece of kit Little gripes here and there but wow what a difference

ollyk

Only thing I am not keen on with this joystick is the twisty stick. Much prefered the rudder control on the throttle as with the older versions! Good deal though!

Great find!!

KevinM

Is the 2 year guarantee from Amazon or Logitech? If it’s Amazon, then I’d say no (just my opinion)...I’d guess the standard 12 month warranty... But if it’s from Logitech themselves, I can’t see a reason why not...I expect you’d simply register it with them to start the warranty... I’ll I’ll find out on Tuesday when mine arrives...

emmpii8

Does it have the same 2 year guarantee?

KevinM

And if you go for one of the Amazon Warehouse listings for this (I bought the “Like New” listing, which basically stated it was pristine), the current warehouse 20% off deal is applied, and this comes in at £72.95... Couldnt resist at that price!

chumpyuk

Saitek products are of low manufacturing quality

mallie21

Nothing wrong with the software it just has a steep learning curve. However the main problem with this setup is that it does not work well in usb 3 so anyone buying make sure you have a spare usb 2

AlexJohn73

Saitek make some great looking products, but on the face of it, the reviews aren't all great. Software in particular is a weakness of Saitek and its associates.

My god this thing is old. I remember wanting to buy one when I was a teenager! Was the shiz back then! I do not quite understand how this is still available new!

Halfmad

X52 is a very old HOTAS and frankly even at this price point isn't worth it. The throttle is nice but the stick is awful, save up a little and get the X55 or combo a T16000M with a CH Pro throttle. I say this as someone who owned an X52 for 7 years - it's old tech, released over TEN years ago and only bought by those who don't understand how poor the tech inside the stick is, or by those who have never tried cheaper sticks like the T16000M which at £30 blows the X52s socks off. Heck even get a Hotas-X over this.. do yourself a favour and avoid.

PC_Dave

You're slowly convincing me... Now I just need one as cheap as this :p

Halfmad

I'd still recommend the newer X55 in that case, it's simply newer tech with some very nice touches for flight sim fans and a nicer throttle than the X52 as well as stick. They had issues with it early on but the build quality and reliability is much better now.

PC_Dave

Good point about the fine control. Thing for me is ease of use and longevity. I don't play Elite or Star Citizen, just FSX and X Planes, and most of the planes are Tube Liners on autopilot :p Back to the deliberation.....

Halfmad

It's a real shame shops these days don't let you try them out. You're absolutely right about how it's subjective. I have a T16000M, CH pro throttle (imported from Amazon US for <$75) and Saitek Cessna pro pedals. I did try out a lot of devices but then again I've got a lot of flight sim friends who have tons of different gear so I went for what I liked rather than a set. The biggest issue for me with the stick in all honesty is fine control, the X52 stick really is lacking at that, it has the utility but fine control is no where near as accurate as even some cheap sticks. I do love my hodge podge of peripherals though, Elite: Dangerous and Star Citizen (well Arena commander) are great fun now.

Well I finally got mine yesterday, I have tested it out and It seems fine, I don't seem to have any of the problems others have reported, the throttle is brilliant, it is smooth as silk and it is easy to move and the joystick is not notchy in any way but one thing I don't like is the joystick is too big. (_;) I haven't got small hands but when I rest my hand on the rest I really struggle to reach the hats. I am going to have to think about adding something to the top of the rest to raise my hand but that will mean losing the use of the pinky switch I reckon. In any case it is still a bargain at this price but I wouldn't pay RRP.

PC_Dave

I agree - apart from dual throttle and some button locations they do the same thing.

ZaphodBeeblebrox

A lot of people prefer the x-52 pro, apparently is has fewer quality issues. I like the look of the x-55 better but I don't think there is much difference in the functionality.

PC_Dave

Thanks - will do! I know there are other places doing them around £130 but I'm trying to get the cheapest deal possible. I've found the X52 Pro for £111, so I'm debating between the two.
