thanks. I think I'd agree.. maybe a step down in performance/quality of build but up in battery life and OS updates... decisions, decisions!
Unless you want latest OS updates, I don't think it will be a good upgrade as S7 edge was a flagship and this is a budget phone. Display wise it's 1080p vs 1440p on S7 edge. It has bigger 5.9" display vs 5.5" on the edge. I don't have this myself personally so can't really comment on the performance.
worth upgrading from an s7 edge to this?

Good phone. Brought for teen daughter too. Who loves it. 64gb is minimum phone storage imo. Typical great quality from well known manufacturer.
Screen is easily shattered, drop of one metre complete with protective case onto cushion floor and ;( ;(
I did google prior to posting but came across some possibly unfavourable points regarding Mimotek summed by this informative piece within HUKD discuss forum: https://www.hotukdeals.com/discussions/mimotekcouk-no-one-at-home-3452617
Cheaper and pay in £ somewhere else...? https://mimotek.co.uk/product/samsung-galaxy-a40-64-gb-black/?gclid=CjwKCAjwlZf3BRABEiwA8Q0qqwYawYxFmZKUKvUI1hu-ujI7tP8-swdr_j6gb9DRRkchjx5YdQD-ExoCHBEQAvD_BwE
Check out MrSwitch's post forM30s. It is £199 on Amazon now. Brilliant phone for the money https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-galaxy-m30s-black-smartphone-sim-free-mobile-phone-amazon-exclusive-64gb-199-at-amazon-3475557
I had one for work, gotta say it's a good little phone.
Should be 3100 mAh, I don't know how long that lasts
Excellent phone for me! Get a cover for it as the colour is terrible. I luckerly got this phone off ebay for 80£ from someone who didn't like it and wanting an iphone again after a couple of weeks having it! Would recommend but I don't do social media constant video watching selfies etc. So I don't know how good it is for all that but it connects to the Van for sat nav, calls and texts so good enough for me. Fits micro sd card too for extra room. Fingerprint recognition on the back is a good idea too.
The note 8 pro all day out of the 3 bud.
And the Note 8 Pro is only £20 more (or the same as this Samsung). Any thoughts? Ta
This or a Redmi Note 8T? It's for my 15 year old nephew, mainly for videos and a bit of gaming (nothing too demanding though).
Yes, I ment xamera, forgot to mention. Thanks for the info.
Was looking at this while ago, tempted at time only thing I was worried about was if it could keep up in 1 year time Went for sony 5 instead as it's just as slim (width is what matters for holdability) Was £240 though, defo reccomend this on budget and don't like big phones
Only 1 left now, just ordered. Seems like a decent spec for the money and will be more than adequate for my mother-in-law to replace an old ZTE Blade. Cheers OP :D
Only 2 left, be quick!!

Just for the record I bought the mi mix2 s from this company just 7 weeks ago . unfortunately it's developed numerous faults and the company have been very poor to deal with . Initially washed their hands with it and pointed me straight to Xiaomi and still REFUSING to send a pre paid return label for faulty goods. PayPal involved now but it's a long drawn out affair and how many can wait 8 weeks plus without your phone .buying somewhere else and insisting PayPal refund as a 8 week wait advised by clove not acceptable.
Hmmm I'll keep it for the time being, just waiting for the right deal at the right £
Might be better than a cracked one. No where near as good as one that isn't cracked though! Can't compare an (admittedly oldish) flagship with a lower midrange / budget phone.
Flagship beating resolution!
How'd does this compare to my cracked s9 ? In real terms is it a like for like, better or worse
Switchmeister leading folks into temptation...but waiting is right strategy, flexing muscles like predator in shadows... you never know when prey's gonna move. Alternatively, look at waity Katie, she made it in life (someone else pounced :) ;) ) Self-control is way forward for humanity... Switch's deals can be testing (preaching)
Again, just to quote the Czech market price, around £155 new from authorised sellers, 2 year warranty etc, all 4 model colours. Really do get charged over the odds in the UK.

They look pretty promising, it's just the software experience that puts me off, vanilla Android and the Google apps are so much better than the Samsung bloatware, wish they'd save themselves some development costs and the rest of us the headache.
What do we think to the a51 and a71?
J is discontinued but was the equivalent of the bottom end of the current A series, the A series used to sit above J until it swallowed it.
...worth paying these few quid extra through Amazon just for sake of full 2 year Samsung EU's (blasphemy) warranty (y)

i was actually looking for a phone/switch bundle offer! Heat added
Heat added. :)
This deal isn't good. The phone is very low end and can be bought sim free for around £200, perhaps even less. The Nintendo Switch light isn't good either. I used one at EGX this year (unless you like handheld consoles) So you'd be paying £700+ pounds for two items worth under £400 - so that's £300 for a small amount of data over 24 months. Wait until Black Friday!
If the phone is only worth £219 then it's not much of a deal. The phone is only £186 on amazon. can get a switch light for £180. That's £366 for a phone and a switch lite.
Isn't he dating Ms FleshLite? :o

Help me decide this or the a40 or or the a 40 ????
Way better IMHO but the apple sheep may beg to differ 😁
Is this as good as an iPhone 7 plz?
Picked one up recently as an excellent refurb on an eBay deal for £125. It is a beautiful looking, compact phone with a lovely screen! The camera is naff in low light though, quality is poor and the AF struggles. Sending mine back for that reason, but if you're only fussed about the camera in daylight, then as a package it's great.
