The £60 redmi 7a has 2 dedicated sim slots, and a sd card slot, and the mi mix 3 5g at £670 has neither (annoyed)

I just called Fonehouse and they have confirmed that this is a 64GB model. My god, why can't phones just have a microSD slot?

:D don't make life easy it seems.

Actually, the bit that says "64GB" is a link... to the 64GB version? That might imply that this IS in fact the 128GB version. Need to phone them to find out I guess.

In my defense when I posted it, it didn't specifically list "64GB" and only had 128GB in the description

Guys, the deal's over.

Honestly, sd card am not concerned at all, and the screen being hd, on a phone anything above 720 is hardly noticable anyway up until you screen share your phone to a tv then thats when higher res comes in us and battery well cause the screen is hd n not qhd it will last long enough for me... Beside am not planning to get it now.. gonna wait till christmas see what offer they got, but honestly i think the price is tad to pricey but not enough to sway people off it... Look at apple, they give 64gb as base model with way less tech and still its selling and compare that to samsung i think its a decent buy

Thanks, was just about to buy it in the morning but now the price has changed to £349...

Don't get the note 10, overpriced and low specs and resolution for the price. Better off buying one plus 7 Pro or 5G edition

My much loved Mix 2s fell in shallow water sea this summer. Phone seems to be working but display is very very faint, can just about make out some icons in certain light. Anyone have any experience whether there is a fix in this kind of situation? Phone seems to respond to my fingerprint and i can hear notifications come in, its just that the display is unuseable. Thanks

I think they sold the 6 for £228, then upped the price for the next 6, as its now £241

Full screen gestures are flawed, accidentally pin an app when long swiping up and you have to restart the whole phone to get out of it

Yes I have this as well and bought it on day one for £500........ Its a good phone but I also have issues...So.. just for info.... The good and bad Its a bit heavy for jeans pocket, not too bad on its own (or with included case) but a bit much with aftermarket covers Unless you are a massive selfie fan you will find the slider a pain, just an extra step for face unlock and can be hard to slide with dry hands Not a fault but a heads up, you need to set for Hong Kong for all features (Face Unlock and All Themes etc.) Falklands etc will give you some but HK will give you all Actually used the stock launcher for a while and its not bad , using Nova at the moment tho. most will prefer it. Agree with the above piccy comment , they are fine for me but I only take the odd snap... Mates S9 much much better GPS seems fine on mine Battery is good, I easily get a day with everything on, but not a patch on my Redmi note 4 Wireless Charging is fantastic , I could not go back to wires now... Full Screen with gesture is fantastic and very intuitive , again will not go back ( Swipe up=Home, Swipe from side=Back and swipe up and hold=Tabs ) etc... Any questions feel free to ask

I have this phone and would not agree with "total flagship experience", it has several issues that I would not expect of a flagship. First thing I noticed, no Theme store in Europe for some reason, you have to change your region to access it. GPS is temperamental, sometimes it will just not work and require a reboot to fix it, doesn't sound like a big deal but when you don't realise the GPS isn't working until you're driving on a busy road, very annoying. Camera is not "good", I'm not a photographer so I can't tell you why, the pictures and especially videos just aren't as good as my previous phone, a Galaxy S8, which was a total flagship experience. However at £340 it's insane value, just don't expect it to be as good as the £800+ Samsungs, even the ones a year or two old.

£350 is not a 'budget phone'. £100-£150 would be classed as budget.

Thanks very much

OK Sean, I can't have a conversation with you, so we'll just leave it here I think (y)

That’s the RRP from the manufacturer. As I said Vodafone are just cashing in on their U.K. exclusive, I haven’t voted as I said, it’s the cheapest yes, but Vodafone have that misleadingly priced. Xiaomi is a non profit hardware company, they sell at cost - they intent to make money selling services to owners later. That’s why 5G phones are 1K retail and this is £500. It’s on various Xiaomi EU websites €599 as Voda U.K. have a exclusive.

Yeah the reluctance of the Chinese to get in order about how they do things internationally and the exterior impact it has on other nations, only a matter of time before something gave way. It's harder to swallow as it's trump. How anyone can like the guy is beyond me...

Made a number of misdemeanours over the years and US govt/intel agencies said enough is enough. Same happened to ZTE, paid fine, back in shop shelves (lovely-looking Axon 10 pro)

I think this and their dominance in 5G is why the US is so determined to derail them with spy accusations. Google is reluctantly following suit. EMUI is decent but it can get better. Still I like their focus on performance.

Well after over a month of literally 30 plus emails and countless phone calls to their UK customer service number I have just been strung along, everytime stating that they are looking into it and no update, finally made a sec 75 charge back/claim on the credit card and been refunded by credit card company! what an absoloute joke of a company Xiaomi UK are! never again!

I was using Pocophone before I changed to mi 9 Even tho mi 9 is better, I still miss having a battery that can last a whole day with heavy use :(

Thanks for the help

I came from a Max 3, so the battery on the Mix 3 is a huge downgrade! I was getting a good 2 days from a charge, now I have to charge the Mix 3 in the afternoon. There doesn't seem as good battery optimization on this. I'm losing between 5% and 10% over night while it's doing nothing? The wireless charging won't work through a flip case, which was a bit of a disappointment. On the plus side, the build is much better, the camera is better, the screen it better (and covers most of the body of the device). And the improved cpu makes it faster than then Max 3. Not decided if I'm going to keep it. I'll see what the Max 4 offers when it arrives in a few months and might go with that and give the Mix 3 to my wife.

What are everyone's thoughts on the phone? I am getting worse battery drain than on my Mi Mix 2S, so a bit disappointed so far!

Thank you for the link. The section 75 law is an awesome law. I had no idea until now that a credit card offered this much protection. As you say a claim can be made over the lifetime of the warranty with the supplier but not the manufacturer as the direct link is between supplier and credit card company. Since eglobal offer a 12 months warranty on all phones then a claim can be made over that 12 month period to the credit card company. This makes me feel much more comfortable buying a phone from across the globe. (y)

Can claim under s75 within the duration of the originally stated merchant warranty/guarantee. For a phone purchase from EGC that is 12months from date of purchase. That is actually more beneficial than the Consumer Rights Act 2015 covering exclusively UK-based merchants that only errs in favour of the buyer for 6 months from purchase (although a true UK-based merchant has some limited obligations for as long as 6 years - assuming the buyer can prove the alleged fault was inherent / present from day one). Some legal interpretation of s75 at: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases/ with some examples from Barclaycard website here: https://www.barclaycard.co.uk/personal/help-and-support/know-your-rights

I didn't know this. How long can you have a phone that goes faulty where you can make a claim on the credit card?

I'm not attempting to hush anybody, although I am suggesting you could prevent persistently embarassing yourself by considering another more informative approach: but first you may need to just accept that peeps will buy from EGC because regardless of what you or anybody else may say (inc me) the attraction of often silly low price, no additional customs fees and option for UK-based consumer protection is difficult to resist. The more informative approach would be to tell peeps how to obtain the UK-based consumer protection from EGC or any other merchant regardless of location, and the method is so simple: only buy an item costing more than £100 + have a UK credit card accountholder pay the merchant directly by their UK credit card. If the buyer doesn't have their own UK credit card (or possibly doesn't have a trusted relative / associate with a UK credit card to buy on the buyer's behalf) or if the merchant doesn't accept direct credit card payment: do not buy from the merchant. It's that simple. Don't complicate credit card payments by mixing with PayPal or using non-UK credit cards; keep it simple: minimum £100 item + direct payment to merchant via UK credit card. Job done. The result of this ridiculously simple advice is no requirement to ever communicate with the merchant once the order is placed; no requirement to send the purchase outside UK if warranty servicing is required. No ifs, no buts, that is just the way it is. If you or any other previous or future buyer weren't aware of this it just indicates more ignorance on top of the bizarre lack of pre-purchase due diligence. If you want revenge against EGC (and that is what you appear to be aiming for), informing buyers of the UK-based credit card protection is the way to go, because every time an EGC purchase has UK-based protection enforced, it results in EGC having the original purchase cost negated from their merchant payment account whether EGC likes it or not, and what better way to obtain revenge against your pet hate company by having them hit where it hurts: in their pocket - and all just by telling peeps to consider the combination of only buying £100+ items and only paying directly by UK credit card. Simples.

Yeah I started it yesterday, there are one or two others that ordered at the same time as me in the same situation

Emailed eGlobal as mine still hasn't shipped, they replied and said it's not currently in stock, due in in 1-3 days. If not dispatched in 3 days I think I'll cancel.

As mentioned earlier I have had this phone for just over a year bought from eglobal for £245ish delivered in a week. I am not David Bailey nor am I some instagramer that needs selfies all the time. And I find the pictures it produces good for my needs and probably for any normal average users needs. The battery last a full day and plug it into a quick charge and you can get about 50% in 30mins. I came from oxygen os and novo lancher to mi ui. And ones you get use to it its fine. Obviously not as silcj a vanilla android but I have used worse. The only reason I might change is if the ruomor about the upcoming pocophone f2 are correct. As I would rather have full screen than a notch or stamp hole camera

Ordered this morning, no payment taken yet though which leads me to believe these aren't in stock. Any previous order I've done with eGlobal has taken payment instantly.

I don't find MIUI bad having moved from iOS. It's a touch laggy and I binned all the blkatwate. Updates are regular and Pie came out quickly for the Pocophone.

Each to their own I guess. I like MIUI, MIUI 10 is very good imo, far better than the junk interface Huawei and Samsung add .

They usually ship it to their own warehouses in the EU/UK then from there to your house, so no customs charge. However, my current order is coming via Aramex who seem to be shipping it straight from Hong Kong to me and is marked on their tracking page as a 'Docking Station' instead of a phone. Which seems pretty dodgy to me as if customs catch it on one of their checks this method will likely result in having to pay a charge.

here's my experience with eglobal https://www.trustpilot.com/users/5895aabd0000ff000a73c337

Ordered two phones from them last year totalling £700+ & they both arrived relatively quickly, appeared to be sent from UK/EU warehouses so didn't have to pay anything extra. Pay with credit card or PayPal for the best cover. So that you're aware before buying, there will most likely be no warranty (or like the ones we get in the UK).
