I made a longer reply to the other thread as to why I think this is not even a good price.

Basically: The 8xxx series offers better CPUs at cheaper price points, that if you compare the gains at each CPU level (i3, i5, i7) the better value is at the Coffee Lake CPU side.

This or MSI Z170-A PRO?
I have an MSI Z97 Gaming 3 and it's a cracking board, it was one of the few that still offers 2 PCI slots (yep, I still use pci cards, gasp), but also had more or less all the other features I was looking for (m.2, isolated audio circuitry, etc.). It's good to see they've done the same here for the new gen socket.

You lose an HDMI port and its only 1.4 not 2.0 so no 4K at 60Hz
Only 1 M.2 PCI-E not 2
Max 32GB DDR3 memory, not 64GB DDR4
Crossfire only works at 4x not 8x for the second card and no 3-way crossfire option
No USB 3.1 Type-C port

There are a few other differences but those are the ones which jumped out to me.

But it is £25 cheaper, just need to decide if those missing features are important to you.

Depends what games you intend to play and what resolution you wish to play said games at. I'll presume 1080-1440p for now:

MB: MSI Z170 Carbon
CPU: 6600K
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2666 to 3000MHz (sweet-spot for performance/price with Skylake)
VGA: GTX 970 (may as well go with MSI's Gaming 4G version to match the board)
PSU: 500-550W will be fine something like https://www.overclockers.co.uk/seasonic-m12ii-520-evo-520w-80-plus-bronze-power-supply-ca-051-ss.html

Then storage wise up to you really. Personally I'd like a 256GB Samsung 950 PRO M.2 SSD to slot into the motherboard M.2 slot and then a SSHD for storage.
can you guys recomend a good gaming set up built arround this board please.

I saw a deal last night much better than this one. Skylake + gtx 970

No you didn't, otherwise you'd share the link
just bought one, but changed to the 620w psu, added the GTX970 4gb gaming edition + optical drive. Will get a 480GB SSD from one of the other many deals and install it. Couldn't really see any better deals than this now.
Tried doing the same specs without OS and HDD and it came out more expensive.
Asked these guys if i could get it cheaper without OS and HDD and they said no. The parts/software are part of a special price bundle they had. I could ask for them to be removed.. but it wouldn't result in any discount.
Was going to get a new laptop, but this is very tempting instead.
Current pc is 8 years old!
Only thing annoying me i want to remove the OS and Hard drive but when i do that on part picker it makes it £580.
Included costs £680, so this around an £60 saving!
Would want an GTX970 instead of the OS and hard drive but the mickey mouse RAM and PSU is putting me off...
Additionally GTX970 for around £250 when they have been out a year and no discounts... Not sure if i should wait for Pascal next year and just get the GTX960 now.

The last things I need is case and psu.getting nervous now pulling the trigger and ordering everything, with my luck everything will go wrong

You'll want an aftermarket cooler anyway, the Intel stock coolers are awful, fiddly pieces of **** to install and not that quiet either. A lot of builders prefer to get the chip OEM rather than the retail package because of this reason.
is MSI any better than they used to be? I know they was known for stock that liked to stop working a lot of the time.

If anyone is looking for a cheap MSI 1150 motherboard, Amazon warehouse have the Gamer 3 from £80ish down to £58 at checkout (due to the 30% open box offer they currently have). Mine's just dispatched. There's also a Gamer 5 for a bit more.
ordered about 7-8 times from box over 2 years, only problem I had was when I ordered a PC case and a hard drive, they put the hard drive lose in the Case box to save packaging, surprise surprise the hard drive was dead on arrival, called them up explained the problem, they apologized and shipping a replacement straight away, not waiting for the original to be shipped back to them, I was impressed with how they handled it and took responsibly.

The G43 looks like a better board. Tbh best getting this anyway as that PRO board looks like normal price unlike this G43 which appears to be £30 off.

Is there any particular reason for that?

A proper bundle should include a motherboard, a CPU and memory. This seems more like two random components.
Its the SSD Plus with 520mb read 350mb write
It doesn't say which drive the 240GB is, but the 480GB (175) and 960GB (260) bundles are the Ultra II.
