Since when did Amazon prime video start pushing adverts.

Posted 26th Nov 2021
Turned on Amazon prime video today and started watching a TV series which had been watched before. To my horror in the middle of two action sequences it cuts to nonsense adverts. If this now going to become a recurring feature of Amazon prime video? If so I'll be canceling my subscription.

If you are bugged about adverts during the show, use Pluto.
You'll still get ads, but will have paid nothing for the crap experience.
Use a VPN and set it to an american zone, then you can get all the yank stuff, and in fact quite a bit of English that they refuse to give here without subscription. A Bond channel, Doctor Who channel, and many others. There is also a channel that will satisfy your need for bouncing boobs on a beach (and that's just Hasselhoff)
Programs/apps to look for are Pluto (which will work with English location), Tubi, and Youtube with an american location will give free films and other bits. (edited)

I've had the odd thing pop up before a film or TV show, but never during! That's something straight from YouTube to out adverts in the middle of the video (edited)

Sounds like a new trend; NowTV has ads too. The poor old streaming companies must be struggling to make ends meet and need us to watch a few minutes of ads on top of our subscription fees now.

Wouldn't mind if it was only at the start, but multiple ads in the middle of the program destroys viewing enjoyment.

Imdb tv - It's a freebie for both prime and non prime members but contains adverts.

I started watching Babylon 5 but gave up as the adverts seemed to happen every 5mins

Tubi - We are not available in Europe due to changes in EU laws. Erm, the UK is no longer part of the EU! Stupid Americans!

Also I understand the need for ADs to pay roll the channel - what I don't understand are the interruptions to self promote the TV channel you are actually watching?

Happens all the time on Sky.

Whatever Sky channel you are watching you get constant adverts for things being shown on other Sky channels.

Is there some sort of list of and IP addresses that can be input into your router or a middle computer to block ads?

So tweak your vpn. I have no problems getting that or the American version of Pluto, or legitimately watching movies on the American Youtube channels.
