one of my ground flat had leak couple of weeks ago. got plastic waste pipe replaced, which is connected to drain and toilet seat, by builder.
today again it started leak, so I presume it's the same way damaged by rats coming through. can any one suggest permanent solution. honestly, don't want to get fooled by builders and keep trying expensive treatment/s.

They are definitely chewing that from inside the pipe, as you can tell by the way the holes have started on the folds going inwards

You can get solid plastic 90 degree or 45 degree  bends to fit from the toilet to the waste pipe but will only work if bend is right. It might be the reason you have the flexi

If you think it’s rodents I would say getting rid of them would be priority and placing some traps around the waste pipe

What if they are butting it from the putter side of the plastic flue ?

Had the same issue in the close where we live. The points others mentioned above are what solved it for us.
    Solid pipe installation if possible.
    Bait the drains with poison.
    Rodent non return valve. (edited)

Had the same issue. Got it replaced with solid plastic bend to stop the problem.

I think the rats can see light coming through the flexi pipe and the ridges give them something to gnaw on.

Ratty wants out, so perhaps not. For most rat problems, the answer is not to feed the rats. How that works when they are feeding on your crap ? (edited)
