Sainsbury's online Grocery order refund

I have a Sainbury's Grocery order for click&collect this evening. I had used first time voucher (£15 off), a £50 Sainsburys gift card and remaining by Debit card.

Now Sainsburys have added a substitute for one item, costing £12 more than the item I had ordered. They have informed in the confirmation email that they will give a refund if I refuse substitution. Noting my payment mostly consists of voucher and gift card, will the refund be to my debit card or will they nullify the amount saying discount voucher was used?
I would rather have the refund to my debit card but also not lose the voucher value if higher cost gets deducted from it.

Please can anyone share their experience, if they have come across a similar issue?

I believe if they substitute an item, you pay the price of the item you originally wanted regardless of if the substitution costs more so it won’t cost you £12 to accept the substitution if that’s what you’re worried about.
If you just genuinely don’t want the substitution though I can’t see them nulling the voucher over it

One time I ordered about 10 bottles of the cheap 55p Zero coke. They sent me 10 bottles of Pepsi Max worth £1.70 instead and didn't charge extra.

That 'one time' may have been quite a while ago, as they now charge for substitutes fully. However they refund that extra cost of substitute thru vouchers for use at next online grocery shopping only.

Noting your comment, I am interested to know about your purchase of so many cokes. Did you buy'em for a party or for yourself............very unhealthy those (edited)
