hi all just wondering what to do advice would be greatly appreciated

I'm coming to the end of my 24month contract with ee,
I've called them twice now about a simo deal, and the best they will do is 20 gb data for £12 on a 12 month contract I think that's bad deal considering I've been a customer for years with multiple lines on my account ans especially as Vodafone are doing a great deal for same data but £8 month. what should I do guys.

I'd never go with 3 I was with them along time back and they're service was shocking

The choice is yours. You can pay what they are asking to benefit from their premium network that attracts a price preimium. Or you can opt for the Vodafone deal you like the look of but accept the network won't be quite as good.

EE Know they have the best network. They know most people will be willing to pay for that. There's very little you can do to make them change their mind apart from keep calling back and hoping you get lucky.

Remember that the Vodafone deal is a Basics plan. So no 5G, No Roaming etc. You would be best off going with Vodafone's sister brand TalkMobile who do 30GB for £7.95 a month and support 5G, WiFi Calling, VoLTE and even free EU Roaming if you did move elsewhere.

The other options are to move to one of the networks that piggyback on EE. Service still won't be quite as good though:
    Plusnet 15GB £10 / 30GB £12
    UW Unlimited £18
    1p Mobile 10GB £10 / 50GB £15 (edited)

My thoughts exactly. I moved from ee to Vodafone thinking it would be the same or thereabouts but their speeds are inconsistent and signal isn't the best either. Will definitely be paying a bit extra for EE albeit via Utility Warehouse where I can get unlimited everything for £18 a month.

I would ask them for your PAC code as that lasts 30 days, if you decide to stay then it won’t cancel the contract anyway. However it may trigger a retentions team to call, that can potentially offer better deals. You could also politely ask any students on here for a 20% off code and ask EE if you can use that on the deal they are offering you

Move to voda? Unfortunately they know they have a pretty decent network which doesn't bode well for us getting amazing deals..

5GB to a new customer is £20 a month, so i'd take what they're offering tbh. EE do have the best network

Never ceases to disappoint and frustrate me how little they think of their existing customers.
I had 4 contracts with EE and am moving them as and when I can, 2 to go.
Called them to match a competitors deal, which they seemed to do until i read the online contract they wanted me to consent to.
It was a 24m contract at the same price per month but the handset part of the contract was for 36m.
At no point in the call was this mentioned, very underhanded me thinks.
My advice is to move to another provider. remember the pac to keep your number. (edited)

I blame consumers for thinking loyalty deserves something special. Meaningless these days for any commoditised service - be it banking, broadband or a mobile phone connections.

EE's "unlimited calls, texts & data" is available to cricket fans at £15/m on 30 days prepay (no credit check).
Still waiting for someone to challenge why the unlimited data is limited to 100GB.

Why cricket fans? How do you prove this?

All very odd that everyone finds EE good.
I have EE on work sim and it's terrible. I have Vodafone on personal sim and it's brilliant.

I live in South West and travel all over UK and Voda is consistently better. Not phone related either as both sims in same phone.

I live and work in an area with great mast coverage (all major networks) and yet I'm the only one I'm my office with a flawless signal through EE and always have been. everyone on Vodafone, Three, Sky, O2 are constantly berating their lack of signal. If 2 or more people in the household get one EE contract with decent data bundle and gift to the others. Also look for employee discount codes as EE don't check employment status. Can save 20% (edited)

I was with Three for 2 years, no problems.
I switched to Vodafone at the start of the year, trying to save myself a few quid. Was with them for 5 days because their signal was shocking.
Moved back to Three on a 5G SIM only 12 month unlimited everything for £19 a month I saw on moneysupermarket.
I use my phone a lot as a hotspot since I don't have home broadband.
Now I can get a signal inside of lifts and places where I couldn't get one last year, I assume it's the 5G, seriously can't fault it.

The only time you can get a top deal with EE is when those crazy top deals come up randomly. Direct with EE the prices are extortionate.

I would say move over to an alternative network on a monthly rolling contract and then just keep a look out for the EE deals that come up on here.

I did this in November, moved to ID mobile. Was only on there for 10 days and one of those hot EE sim deals popped up.

Then you just get in there

bt sim 20gb £9 per month

If you have bt internet then you can get a 20gb sim for £9 per month (EE)

Will EE price match this if you quote it to them?
    Bertz99's avatar
You do know EE is a brand of BT?

I was paying £8 a month for 10gb with EE but moved over to the 1p a monty simo Lebara deal and been happy with them so far think they're offering 15gb for £1,49 for the 1st 6 months maybe try that
    valmiki's avatar
Same here, moved to 1pmobile from EE. All good so far

    Lebara.

Voxi will switch you instantly and you're still with Vodafone really. Leave it until the last couple of days before your contract expires. Can switch back just as easily. Personally I'd go to Lebara to get European use. Some MSE sim only deals here - moneysavingexpert.com/che…ly/ (edited)

I agree, 17 years I have been with them with multiple lines and it makes me wonder how they can't be more flexible on discounts. Maybe this year is more of a problem for them given costs are running high. I'm not looking forward to he inflationary rise in April. I'd probably move to Voda if I were in your shoes and felt strongly about it.
    Jay080286's avatar
I didn't think EE have been around that long?
  17. Russ2626's avatar
EE are also going to increase prices by over 14% in April. I'll leave it until then and request my PAC. Even though I find EE to be the best network, I'm willing to switch if necessary.

    Just move on?

I know 3 get a bad rap but I've been with them for nearly a decade with no issues at all.

I've just moved last week from a full phone contract expiring to sim only.

    Got 20gb for £7 a month for 24 months.

Three wildly varies depending upon where you are.
They are literally unusable in some areas. In my area their 4G Network is so congested that you often can't even manage a VoLTE call without significant disruption (calls falling silent, longer and longer voice delay, interference, and calls completely dropping)

In other areas I have seen more than gigabit speeds via their 5G Network.

I had the same issue with EE. Wouldn’t offer anything worth thinking about. Took up this deal with them as a new customer and just switched my number over. hotukdeals.com/dea…360

I pay £6 each for SIM only (4gb) on 4 lines for family members and £17 with unlimited on my personal line.
I am allowed to transfer 100gb from my unlimited line to family members through data gifting which is more than enough for everyone.
I'm due upgrades on all my lines but I'm scared if I ring them they'll see their mistake and take it off me.
    18nine04's avatar
    What mistake?
  21. razo's avatar
They won't offer the best deal until you've got your PAC.

But they don't offer much in the way of discount, because (in many places, not necessarily where you are, of course) their signal (and data speed) is head and shoulders above the other networks, and they know it. Where I am, EE is easily worth double the monthly cost of another network.
