Shoes / trainers for smart jeans

Posted 17th Jun 2023
Can anyone give me some ideas on what type of shoes / trainers would look good to wear with smart jeans and a shirt ? Would be helpful if they lasted a while as in not just this year's fashion.

Thanks in Advance

No trainers look smart full stop. They're always casual - then again I'm old so I would think that. You wear trainers for comfort, not to look smart. Now trend and fashion is a different ball, but you asked smart.

    he didn't ask smart

if you read what he said "what type of shoes / trainers would look good to wear with smart jeans and a shirt" he asked trainers that would look good. he didn't ask for trainers that look smart

of course what looks good or smart is subjective. someone could look smarter in a nice pair of trainers than an old pair of shoes/boots as can many things that are new/clean/ironed compared to something that's old/crumpled/dirty. so someone well dressed in clean casual clothes could look better than someone in an old badly fitted worn dirty crumped suit with old dirty scuffed shoes

Depends on your budget. Of course Trainers can look semi smart like Common Projects etc.

I'm a Hedi fan boy and wear boots like below -

Trainers, smart jeans and a nice top like a polo is ok in my book

Trainers, smart jeans and a smart shirt doesn't go in my opinion. For me it would be shoes or boots, doesn't need to be fancy shoes, but goes better with a smart shirt.

You would be better off with some good quality suede chukka boots in a dark brown

go to a store like shuh or office and see what they have or have a look online. DM's, timberlands (they have all sorts of styles from boat shoes to the classic tan boot, even trainers), or something old skool trainer wise that's perhaps mono black or white, such as air force ones, superstars. perhaps veja campo

Stan smiths or air force 1s

Perhaps worth having a look at some of the sketchers slip ons? I think they look 'smart casual' personally. And they're super comfy.
