EA INCREASE FIFA Points ahead of EA SPORTS FC 24 - 10% increase for the UK

Posted 1st Jun 2023
EA have increased the price of FIFA Points and blame ''global economic fluctuations'' and ''significant changes in currency valuation'' Seems a load of **** to me and i havent spotted on any socials, it's like they want to hide it....

FYI EA's fourth quarter and fiscal year, where the net revenue was $1.874 billion for the quarter and $7.426 billion for the fiscal year......

The EA site says

''As we continue to see global economic fluctuations, including significant changes in currency valuation, we’re working to balance prices of our live service content across all currencies globally.

Starting June 1, 2023 some regions on EA.com / EA App will see recommended retail price increases for FIFA Points for EA SPORTS FIFA 23, while others will experience price reductions when these updated prices go into effect. Please refer to your stores locally for more information on these changes.

We know you have choices with your entertainment experiences. For the many millions of you choosing to connect with each other, playing and creating and competing in our games, we are deeply appreciative and committed to delivering more amazing experiences for you in our live services and beyond.

Thank you for being part of our football community.''

According to the numbers by FUTBIN, the UK are seeing increases as much as 10%

We're not yet seeing an increase in the US but the likes of Australia have seen prices of points go from $120.00 AUD for 12000 points, to $150.00

Here are some current prices Was/Now format for UK and AUS.

  • 100 FP: £0.79 - £0.99 / AU$ 1.49 - AU$ 1.65
  • 500 FP: £3.99 - £4.49 / AU$ 6.00 - AU$ 7.55
  • 1050 FP: £7.99 - £8.99 / AU$ 12.00 - AU$ 14.95
  • 1600 FP: £11.99 - £13.49 / AU$ 18.00 - AU$ 21.95
  • 2800 FP: £19.99 - £21.99 / AU$ 30.00 - AU$ 37.95
  • 5900 FP: £39.99 - £44.99 / AU$ 60.00 - AU$ 75.95
  • 12000 FP: £79.99 - £87.99 / AU$ 120.00 - AU$ 150.95

Not looked into it properly yet but possible higher increases, in other regions :/

Looks like it's only PC and PlayStation users atm but maybe that'll change.

I will update further tomorrow, as heading offline but a heads up really!

Classic cash grab from EA and Activision (cod blueprints and skins have increased with average I’ve seen being 1500 points for stuff that would have been cheaper not long back). The fluctuation etc should not affect digital pricing. Utter nonsense

    Classic EA
Saved millions by not giving into Fifa's demands for the license and still put microtransaction prices up.

Fifa is the most dangerous toxic game out there. Kids are introduced to gambling, very toxic chat in hard fought online games, the game has exploitable bugs which can make games unfair, and kids taking advantage of parents not fully understanding that adding their credit card once doesn't mean the kid won't do a sneaky transaction here there and everywhere in the future.

Pay to win is a terrible policy. (edited)

It's a digital item, this is a load of bull, they could sell at a cheaper rate and make so much money, just greedy. The problem is people will pay it, should boycott them tbh. (edited)
