Heat for mahooosiveness
This is a good deal for a great tent. Just because it's not an impulse purchase it shouldn't be voted cold
It's tricky when deals are for something which is good quality and actually worth a lot of money to start with, - especially if people have only ever bought a cheap 2 man festival tent before... but thanks for posting!
Edited by: "sarahtweak" 10th Jan
I bought this tent last time and its great. We went to Shell Island in Wales when Storm Bryan hits late last year and it was virtually the last tent standing. We even managed to take it down in 90 mph winds (though I don't want to ever have to try that again). It's huge, superbly waterproof (Didn't let a drop of rain in). It is also very large to transport and as you say, you won't be hanging it over a washing line to dry, and you'll need a big garden to let it dry in. I paid this price for it on the last offer and am very happy with it, so heat from me
istaniland22 m ago

yep it is a big tent, it would probably break your washing line

I was going to say the same thing
My tent is this big, although I think my poles are alloy and weigh less than these. Nevertheless, it's a big tent, you don't want to put it up for one night. Or hang it on the washing line.
If you need.... or want one this size, packing it away will be necessary anyway. You'll soon get into the way of doing it.

I wouldn't buy it on a whim though. These things are big, need storing properly (lots of space), transporting properly (lots of space and weight), time to put up and down, a big enough pitch and some camping experience. Although if you are considering spending this much money on a tent, I would assume you have some camping experience

Oh and Outwell are considered a very good tent manufacturer. Heat.

Trashing it? Haha. I think the rating of this wonderful "deal" of yours shows that its hardly been fondly accepted as a great idea.

Oh, and it's "poached egg", by the way.
I think putting 'must have' in the title is what killed it as it simply isn't, nor is it safer than frying if you use a non stick with just a light smear of oil. Not as bad as using garden solar led lights around your tent but that practice nicely illustrates the peculiar gadget mentality of some campers.
Two for a pound in poundland and you can just use boiling water

But at the end of the day, this is something that you don't need! Pan. … But at the end of the day, this is something that you don't need! Pan. Water. Boil. Drop in eggs. Cook. Drain and serve. As someone who's dedicated the past 18 years of his life to travelling, I can tell you that it's safe to say that I'll never be carrying egg poachers with me! I've cooked in some of the most poorly equipped hostel/communal kitchens you ever will see and never had a problem poaching eggs!

I must admit I am surprised at some of these negative comments. I am not telling you all these are the best product in the world that u cannot live ur life without. I am simply sharing a very good product that is excellent quality and a good price.
Yes we use ours in our trailer tent whilst on traveling holidays as a family and I know many others that have started using them for many different reasons. I am fully aware of how to poach an egg in water and I have also found this product to be just as good and easy to use eg less water and mess.

Take it or leave it's no problem but why all the hate is it really worth it. Stick to pound land etc it's really not an issue. For some it's a good product and for others it's not. Chillout ;-)

I agree and appreciate your feedback but not the negative heat. I did go to ALDI but there wasn't any there. My preference would probably have been the ALDI model as it does have a 3 year warranty and the extra capacity but they only do it a couple of times a year and I needed it that week.
Outwell are a well respected brand and it does come with both 12v DC and 230v AC cables. With most others you have to purchase the AC adaptor separately so I opted for this one. It performed brilliantly last weekend, everything was ice cold. I left it on in the boot on the ECO setting, the car started first time Sunday afternoon without a problem.
I'm at a loss as to why this has gone negative? For this model the price is probably the cheapest out there, we could go on all day about other models and their prices but would you do this if someone had put an offer on here about a fiesta? (i.e. The corsa is £2000 cheaper and has a bigger boot.) No you wouldn't or shouldn't. If someone has given a price on a saleable item that is the cheapest out there then that should receive positive heat? Everyone has a right to an opinion and a preference as to what make or model they'd rather, by all means comment and give your opinion on other models but leave the heat alone.
If the same item is cheaper elsewhere then by all means give it negative heat.
This was my first post on here and judging by the negative heat it will be my last, if someone was looking at the outwell model and I hadn't put this on here then they'd have paid a higher price, surely then this post has to be a positive.
Small minded people could ruin this site for everyone else.

As witchfinder says - the coolers tend to work better from the mains (if they have a mains connection). In a car the limited airflow (if you have it stuck in the boot surrounded with other baggage) can also hinder cooling. Three things you could do to improve the performance - cool the box overnight by leaving it plugged into the mains (so that you're starting from cold), try to put chilled stuff and supplement the cooling with icepacks or frozen drinks bottles or bags of ice from the supermarket.
