Typically it's a "credential stuffing" attack where the database from a less secure website gets leaked and the hacker can log in using the username/passwords of someone who uses the same password on all websites they use, that's why you should use different passwords where possible!

No hard feelings. Thank you...You've just improved my writing " skill" :))

1/2.3 sensor.....

Not a great camera imo, my brother has one

This camera is a bridge camera and has 20.3 megapixels and can shoot full HD video. It can be brought online at Curry’s and cost £199.99.

Agreed (highfive)

I’d imagine the people this is aimed for would be more comfortable using the 3” screen for their shot compositions

It already comes with a mini tripod. I bought it as my samsung s6 camera wasn't that good.

The picture does show the 40x Optical Zoom but yeh, nice to have it in the description. I have the 610 which is obviously a slightly earlier version but is a great camera for family holidays. Might upgrade it to this one.

The important missing feature listed is the zoom -- it is after all called a superzoom! It's 40x for those interested.

not bad - you'll probably want to buy a head for the tripod though

Have you looked at Panasonic LUMIX TZ range? I bought the Mrs the TZ30, which has a 24x Zoom and takes some stella photos (just don’t put the ISO up to high) has built in GPS tagging of the photos (this can lead to quicker battery drain if the camera is left on standbye instead of turned off) the video quality is great too shooting at 1080p 60fps. You can also buy a waterproof housing for them off eBay for a reasonable price to use underwater or just make it more rugged

It all depends on your needs. I’ve got the A6000 and love it. Although to get an equivalent level of zoom will cost a couple of 100£ more. The A6000 is a much batter semi pro/pro camera and takes lovely videos as well as fantastic photos with what was the worlds fastest autofocus system able to take and refocus 11 shots per second. Compared to the 5.9 of the canon it’s no comparison. Just down to how you plan to use the camera and what you expect to achieve out of it. Hope this helps

This might sound as though I’m going off at a bit of a tangent ... but please bear with me ... I bought a GoPro Hero 5 Black thinking that it would be fine for taking the odd video with but mainly to take photographs with - I realise now that it doesn’t really suit my needs. What I do like about it is that it connects to my ‘phone so I can save and send pictures .... I like that it is waterproof (although I have added a waterproof case) but what I can’t really get on with is the size - it’s just too small. Does anyone else have these issues ? Back on track ... is this Canon camera the answer ? How robust is it ? How easy does the Wi-Fi connect to an iPhone to send and save pictures? Does it have GPS so that your pictures are geo-tagged with the location? What’s the battery life like? Any suggestions for the ideal camera with all of those features would be appreciated. Thanks ....

Or a Pana TZ. Sony HX80/90V Good as well.

Great price, heat! Looks like a nice little compact.

Yea you are right, probably a grey Import also, so next best price is £278. Looks like this has been superseded by the SX730, only difference appears to be a swivel screen, but costs £320.

Yep, very hot price....if I didn't have a sony hx60v and a sony hx400v I'd be all over a big zoom!!! Heated up and thanks for posting (y)

Heat for price, but add me to the list of commenters pointing out that rather than being the best of both worlds, this camera combines the bulk of a dslr with the image quality of a mid-range compact. For less than this, you can pick up a second-hand Canon 100d off eBay which is smaller than most dslr cameras. You’d be missing the printer and the 45x zoom - depends on how important those things are to you. Personally I’d not miss them, but horses for courses etc

Picked one of those up in the recent curry's misprice for £120. Can confirm, great little camera. You're spot on re the hassle of carrying around the bridge camera too, I bought the TZ60 as my DSLR was a pain to lug around for days out.

Again! Argos keep trying to push this stuff. It's not awful but I bet most of them get left at home because they are too big to lug around and a camera which isn't with you won't take good pics! No viewfinder either - which would have helped justify its size. Think hard before splashing your cash: I'm all for encouraging people to take photography more seriously but this really isn't the right (type of) camera for most people. For just a little more money you can get something like a Panasonic TZ60 travel zoom which takes great pictures, has a big zoom and still fits in a pocket. Regularly drops below £200 as it's an older model.

This won't be a great camera tbh. The lenses on these low end bridge cameras are pretty rubbish. You'd be better off buying a similarly priced point and shoot with less zoom IMO. Beginner or not.

Goes from a useful 24mm to over 1000mm. Sample pics in photography blog look good. Even CA isn't to bad

Ok so please can someone give a link to a decent bridge camera that is a good deal at the moment, my old Fuji died, so time for a new one, cheers.

It has own rechargeable battery. You have a little charger for it's battery. From what I understand..battery last around 200photos..don't know about video

what kind of batteries does it take how long do they last etc recording video? does it have mains adapter power aswell can i use it whilst recording/shooting? anyone?

you can get used dslr for less than 100quid - pretty old but servicable ofc youd probably need to get more lenses etc but what is this 'minimum £2000' crap?

If your Budget can stretch to it this kit would be far superior as an entry to DSLR (y) Currys

It's been many years since I owned a bridge but I will offer my advice, especially if you're viewing as a beginner camera. I bought a bridge after enjoying my compact cam and wanting to get into photography a bit more. Thought a bridge would be ideal. They look like an SLR and have similar layout and control dials. After I bought it, I found myself very disappointed. The pictures were actually poorer than my previous Panasonic compact. Low light stuff was dreadful, noisy and nasty. That wasn't the worst though, I realised there was nothing my bridge could do the compact couldn't, apart from the mental optical zoom. But it didn't matter, it just didn't take the photos I wanted. I then bought a cheap entry level Sony SLR, after selling the bridge. I was in a different world and wished I'd just gone to SLR first. I don't know much about this camera, perhaps it's very good for what it is. However, save a bit more and about £130 later you've a decent entry level DSLR.

Was thinking about buying this as a beginners camera. or this one from Argos

tough decision I was looking at this for a few days but the £30 code wasn't working 'til now. great price for this bridge camera but it sits in the middle and under performs both compact and dslr kind of the worst of both worlds slow at wide angle and zoom I think there are better options for your money even at £200 (y)

No problem.

He'd just gorged himself on a kill so was sleeping it off. I have a load of shots, I'll share later. There's a nice comparison where the guide used an SLR (but with a cheaper lens) versus this.

This was a good price, although personally I would recommend spend more and get a compact that slips in your jeans pocket and it will give similar results with 1080p video.... Had a Sony hx10v for nearly 4 years, not really missed the zoom being only 16x on mine, but the pictures and especially the video is great, use it a lot for motorsport events. just my 2 pence worth.

I'll say it again, no good having an all singin all dancin DSLR with mingy lens and pouring over settings and quality when you don't actually get the photo in the first place.. I have been in the same boat as RXP91 and got shots of animals from afar with superzoom bridge cams, of which I have missed out on with a DSLR in the past.. For safari and anywhere you need to zoom in close, unless you have £10G and want to cart a lens longer than your arm around with you, these superzoom bridge cameras are just great!

Anyone know of any similar bridge camera deals?

This is in stock again as i picked one up yesterday for my daughter :)

I'm not a camera snob, im fully aware that a lot of people dont want an overcomplicated camera and just want something a bit better than their phone, and that's absolutely fine. I just don't like brands shoving point & shoot internals into arbitrarily large bodies just to make them look more pro to beginners without any tangible benefits beyond ergonomics. I literally ran into this problem last month when a member of family wanted to buy his girlfriend a camera to get better quality shots for her makeup business. He ended up dropping over £300 on a bridge which was solely differentiated from a £100 P&s by its 50x zoom, but he chose it because of the way it was marketed by Canon and because it looked like my old SLR. I'm not saying people should only buy expensive cameras, I'm saying people shouldn't buy what is essentially a bog standard compact with a jacked up price tag simply because it looks like your cousin Harry's cool DSLR.

indeed, cheaper on amazon now!

Are you replying to the wrong person maybe? I haven't mentioned travel compacts.

I'm a massive Canon fan.....but this is not one of their better efforts For a camera which is relatively new camera....first released only 8 months ago....the fact that it is being so heavily discounted should tell you a great deal.... It really is basically a compact with a long zoom lens (and a slow one at that....f3.5 - f6.6) It lacks most of the SLR features that Bridge camera users should be expecting.....there is no option to add an external flash to boost the poor built in one's range.....the deal breaker will any bridge camera for me would have to be the lack of a viewfinder....making using in bright light difficult & the lcd screen on this one is not articulated & at 230dpi is very low resolution... Not offering 1080p video on a 2016 model is also truly unforgivable
