Most bookies will class either your stake back as cash or as a free bet as "risk free". What other people want to call it is up to them but in the betting industry it is generally classed as a risk free bet. I don't think you were incorrect to call it that. The offer is still valid for the Chelsea match. I will be taking advantage of this once the players are known. I always look at the stats on the Ladbrokes site to determine the best aspects to include in the bet builder. The stats are not out yet on the Chelsea game but this is an example of what will be available.
Didn't know about this. Thanks for posting
Ah yes apologies, definitely not in that case. Will delete
Yeah, not risk free. You have to win an evens bet with your £5 free bet to get your money back, as free bet stakes are not returned either.
Obvs not as good as the PP where they return as cash.....

Scratch Of The Day is worth looking at, but recently for me it's been mostly "bet £5 on a specific sport/event, get a £2 free bet". Happy with a free £2 bet today. The Free Or 4 is worth doing each week for the chance of some free bets. I just opt for a random selection most weeks.
Perfect, just in time for me to watch Vin Diesel go to space for the next instalment of F&F (y)
if anybody has a membership of https://cinemasocietyclub.com/ - easy to get hold off eg via the lidl app then they are currently offering £3 tickets for reel cinemas i.e. https://cinemasocietyclub.com/ offer wont last much longer with cinemas re-opening
I couldn’t live my life like that, everyone is different which is perfectly fine if you can live that mindset and be happy. Life is way too short to worry about everything in the future, planning / thinking to get on the property ladder many years down the road wouldn’t be productive for me, that emotional stress / uncertainty would just be pointless, would bring me down, living life is very important to me, a night out to watch a free movie in a huge cinema with social distancing in mind doesn’t cost enough to have an impact on savings but would actually make most people feel good getting out & about seeing new faces, going out does require effort but that effort is very rewarding on every level socially & mental if it’s a quality day / afternoon evening out with nice friends / family that you care about, that reward is a substantially greater in the long term compared to the saving you make by staying at home, just for me personally. P.s Humans are social creatures by nature, it’s built in at a neurotransmitter level to seek novelties, it is super important for the brain to be happy, being social and doing new things. depression and most mental diseases come from lack of novelties, being stuck in the same routine day in day out, on top of good nutrition & sleep. Wouldn’t worry about your property I’m sure you will get it as it’s a long term goal but living life today is also very important. Hope you haven’t forgotten that cause of lockdown (embarrassed)
28th of May I read somewhere (y) Hope it doesn't get pushed back again!
Back Tammy Abraham to score as he never plays anyway which means your bet will get voided and you still get the free bet he must have been looking forward to his trip to the euro’s till lampard got sacked lol
Used to love this offer when I was matched betting always got £50, money for nothing shame I'm no longer eligible for promotions on most of the bookies now used to make some decent money
Depends what they've offer you. Some get £5, others £10, £25 or even £50.
But @GrandmasterMash says he got a £10 free bet.

Sounds a bit of a day, Paddy Power free bets can usually be split. Hopefully you'll win a few quid and then take your £30 out. It'll be worth while. (y)
So I did the above. It was a palava indeed as the first Play card given didn’t work and the PP guy behind the counter tried to imply it was me. It was a faulty card. Then issues with my ID, passport, as he told me it didn’t have enough digits (I’ve been using it for travel for 9 years with no issue..). He wasn’t making it easy. Then had to try 3 different shops with Paypoint to take my £30 cash. First two didn’t recognise a PP card, including the Post Office. The wine corner shop was fine in the end (note the card has to be swiped not placed in the machine). Then it was a nervous 15 mins before the balance on my app updated with the £30 (keep your receipt!). But when it did update it also updated with £10 freebet. Now just looking into whether that £10 has to be used on one bet only..... indeed, a palava, decide whether you can be bothered.
Seems complicated. Have to go into a PP shop to get a Play Reward card, link it to my online account and activate it. Then find another shop with a PayPoint that accepts PP (it states not all places will) and present Play card and £30 cash.
I've never done any matched betting. My betfair still has offers
They dropped a football out of a helicopter, 640ft, and he caught it, 3rd attempt. World record or something. Bit of a pr stunt but still a good catch. Still good to know who picks up what in the division, Rams obviously have a good team, gotta keep an eye on who gets what, Seahawks should be interesting.
I've started to do the same recently. 0-0 on all three. The football is terrible this covid era with hardly any goals. Boring nil nils on week games, tv games. Teams playing for constant draws. zzzzzz.
Busted... 3/5 on both accounts...
It’s fine for free.
Won’t spend money on these 5 a side things. If a player is subbed or sent off then you’re flat. Not sure I’d bother much even if the replacement took over the player you’d bet on
Never had it, going to use it. I've never skipped a free bet, even when I'm clueless, like with the Paddy Power fantasy football bets. 1-2-Free is good. Had many a free bet from that. I always think even if you don't know football, you may as well select 2-0 across the board and sometimes you'll get a free bet.
It pretty much is guaranteeing a profit if you don't risk losing anything and just place free bets, for example. At the end of the day, it's up to the punter, but IMO having multiple void bets on your account are a bad idea.
Yeah but if they see void bets in your account multiple times it looks suspicious...
Ah right, 83p quite expensive to unlock the fiver but easier than matched betting and you're still quids in
Nope place two £5 cash bets, one on odd goals at 5/6 and one on even goals at 5/6 and you are guaranteed a return of £9.17 which means the free £5 bet will cost you 83p (y)
My thoughts exactly. It’s not the same as matched betting and guaranteeing a profit from them. I’ve went for John Stones to be booked...;)
A nice easy £130 of free money for those who backed this (or £270 if you put your other tenner on it as well) For those who did win big, consider donating a tenner or two to your favourite charity - it's good karma ;)
Maybe because you need to change your strategy like choosing over 0.5 Goals, instead of picking which teams to win. Kickoff.co.uk and forebet are good prediction sites
Nothing on my account, then again i've lost so much money to this company why would they offer me anything 'free' (annoyed)
I guess this isn’t avil. to new customers?
Yes, most definitely! It must of took a bit of a dent out of her £48K an hour salary!
Thanks for the info. I think I'm literally never gambling again. A fiver's a fiver, whatever, but the situation you've described is just cynical. "You'll give us money" is how they roll
It's not fair but they do the same even with customers who don't use the free bets and who just win a lot more than they lose. A colleague of mine really researches horse stuff and does accumulators on the racing, just £1-£3 stakes but potential for large returns, especially when he cashes in early. He does very well out of it and some bookies have stake restricted him as a result, so he can only bet a few pennies with them. Purely because he has bet and won. None of it's fair but they can do what they want.
Me too (annoyed)
I don’t play beat the drop, I clicked on the link for this promo within my app and placed my bet. I lost and contacted live chat a few hours later. No joy at all, told I’ve been “blacklisted” with no explanation why and no appeal process. The agent in live chat just shut the conversation down when I asked for details of who to contact to sort the issue out. (mad)
I just don't get why they offer this to everyone then. Same happened to me, first I've ever heard of "gubbing", if they made this clear at the outset I wouldn't have a problem with it, but why be shady about it? Seemed too good to be true. "Previous customers only" would have covered it
I went big on cloth cap too. He was traveling so well for so long then went out like a light ...very odd . Shame as he won the virtual grand national and that has always been an accurate guage to who will win . Better luck next year
Ahhh you win some, you lose some! A shame they pulled up as I felt he would have placed in top 10 if they kept going! See you again next year! 😁
You must be gutted
Thanks didn't know this, already done todays bets but ill try remember for next time (y)
On the app it’s the “each way extra” section on the top line
