Ah man, that's a bummer, and I wouldn't pay the outrageous replace costs either, I'll keep an eye out for something good.
@toge @MrSwitch I heard back from Apple today, it's a third party screen, which means they won't touch it. They offered to replace it for a chunk of change. So it will be going back to Argos, once I've been in to pick up the phone from the store. Shame as apart from the screen the phone was basically brand new. Anyway glad others had better experiences than I did here. Onto looking for another iPhone with an IPS panel now (oled PWM hurts my eyes). I'll keep an eye on your feed Mr Switch :)
It does, about a week left. The guy in the shop said the repair in store option was greyed out on his ipad and even showed me it wouldn't let him. It was asking them to send it off for an investigation, sounds ominous! Shame as I was hoping to have it sorted and head back there later on today.
It's got a warranty right?
The iPhone 8 plus arrived, it looks brand new, but the screen barely registers any touches. I've dropped it off at an Apple store, who have had to send it away for a remote repair, which could take up to 14 days, great... Shame they couldn't do the same as they did for @toge.
