Hi, I am planning on starting a new sim only contract (EE) that has unlimited 4G data but I was wondering if it is possible to use my data to play online PS4? I would not be downloading, just streaming. It's just that my broadband speed is not so great for gaming and I don't have fibre optic in my area.
Any suggestion, please?

sorted byHonestly couldn't say for sure but he never had any issues with running out of data and we'd play FIFA Pro Clubs pretty much every evening for 4-5 hours!
Edit: According to Google, 100GB is more than enough.
"Playing a game online will use data. The good news is this won't make a huge dent in your monthly broadband allowance; most modern titles use somewhere between 40MB to 300MB per hour." (edited)
I do this every week when staying away for work. Tether my PS4 from my phone on 4G EE.
It doesn’t use much data at all, there are no graphics or anything being transmitted or received. The advice you received on this was terrible. 100GB is more than enough!
Latency isn’t going to be as good as a physical connection obviously but it’s better than nothing.
If he can’t get fast fibre broadband I his area I doubt he will be able to get 5g as it’s only in certain cities right now
yeah, exactly that! thank you
no 5G here i'm afraid. hm, my brother is on three mobile network and he said it's awful, he lives near me. I can try 4G EE network or something else and see if the latency and ping are any better. not sure how to tell before I order the sim. (edited)
Gaming ; especially 4k . Uses alot of data and requires fast upload/download speeds .
But you still have not asked about there mobile signal...
Maybe you should
Should really ask about Voda cellular signal as £10/m no contract unlimited data via unmetered Voxi is available to buy and burn if rubbish with no extended commitment.
When you are in a party chat or whatever it will impact your connection too, I'm not clever or clued up enough to explain why, but it does.
Try using the sim in a mobile router. Or put it in an old phone just for tethering purposes and place it some where were reception is stronger.
This is one of the same reasons I left 3 for EE too.
Apologies Arto, I meant to copy in the op (edited)
will 100GB last me all month if I play 5 hours a day. I heard call of duty takes a lot of data. what do you reckon?
