Hi, pretty nooby to pc gaming I’ve got a decent rig
RTX 3080 12GB ASUS TUF
I5 12400
16GB RAM DDR4 3200MHZ
1200W DARK POWER 12 PRO
how do I figure out what it causing it? not all games stutter but most do. I’ve ran driver easy and all my drivers are upto date. I have upgraded my GPU and PSU myself. I originally had a 3060 but was very underwhelming for the target I’m trying to achieve with either 120 ultra 1440p gaming or 4k @ 100fps +
Is there a software I could run to search for the problem? checked temps and they seem brilliant GPU maxed out at 66/67 degrees CPU about 55/60
I’m a loss as to why this is happening since it’s a brand new pc.
Any help guys many thanks in advance

Stuttering is a bit vague, can you show a frame time graph?
I mean it happened on my 3060 which was in the pre-built comp so it’s not a GPU thing
Yes it’s the LG C2 42” OLED. 120hz it runs at on hdmi 2.1 and I have V-sync on capped at 116fps I’ve checked control panel and it’s set at 120hz 4k
Its a good CPU but if your saying your CPU is maxed out, the GPU should give a little more.
Cpu runs about 4-4.2ghz in game I don’t think it’s the CPU but idk.. What would be you’re suggestions
Also have you checked all firmware and bios's are updated?
I’m only running NVME’s pice 3.0 and 4.0 that’s it.
They 100% wouldn’t bottleneck the system. it’s bugging me
I’m playing fornite and it’s stuttering (edited)
Network issues? Assuming you're playing online.
I’m wired in on gigabit internet
I’ve just searched up and my bios software is out of date is it easy to install?
as i suggested! Download and and run it will do the rest
Also if you've got another monitor, test with that.
If you've got another hdmi, or dp cable, test with that.
Test at a lower resolution/refresh rate
Yes
you also need a decent hdmi cable, I had issues when I first got the c1 but it was the cable. They are not all the same. Easiest way to test if you have a series x or ps5 use those cables..
I give up
Nah the tearing still occurs unless I have GSYNC and Vsync enabled. I set my max FR to 117 and it will never disengage GSYNC then. and it’s set to 120hz in NC and my lg c2 system information displays it
The list looks like it's upto date, as the 'driver needed' column goes all the way up to 512.59 (the most recent public driver release).
If the gsync setting is indeed doing nothing in the current drivers, and you're running with vsync enabled, it'll likely be the cause of your stuttering.
If you disable vsync, does the stuttering go away?
That’s strange???? my C2 states it’s enabled
vsync is pointless on a 3080, you may as well let it run, on r6 i can get 270fps at ultra 4k and tv only does 120fps but i leave vsync off. vsync isn't your issue have you tried a diffrent hdmi? gsync doesn't set it lowers fps to stop tearing, if you need driver for the gsync as stated above put freesync on the c2 and see if that helps it's open so gsync will work with it, till you get new driver.
I still get tearing badly with just g-sync. I watched this video recently and comments on this YT make sense
it has to be your settings i been running a 3080 on a c1 since release and once i got a decent hdmi and set all the settings i've had no issues what so ever and i don't use vsync.
nvidia control panel, under display, change resolution, i have it set under pc 3840x2160 and set at 120hz. it could be you need to go through each setting at a time. lower temps are better but they seem low for maxed out gaming.
at 4k it's mainly gpu bound but could be cpu bottle neck. have you tried lower resolution to see if it still stutters? or set the fps to 60 to see if it stops stuttering...
It’s one the s tier cards ‘ASUS TUF’ I always run msi afterburner with the statistics. it has a dual bios and I don’t run the quiet bios I run performance. I’m playing apex legends where it doesn’t stutter at all! 4k everything on ultra and it stays close to locked 120fps. GPU utilisation is at 90/95% and temps stay at 66 degrees. Its the FE cards that hit high 70’s early 80’s
Anyway I have a very good hdmi 2.1 cable recommended by Vincent teoh from HDTV test.
I will mess with some settings later see what changes! I also have the most overkill PSU known to man so I know it isn’t the PSU.
I experience like 1-10 fps on loading screens and GPU rate at 2% during loading screens etc wondering if that’s normal
try a diffrent hdmi in case faulty as an idea. the thing with finding faults with pc's is going through everything one at a time and in the end it could be the simplest thing over looked..
Yes I am! how does one download new drivers for it? As my drivers say up to date
then download: techspot.com/dri…48/
Then go to "add bluetooth or other device", bluetooth and connect to the controller
Should work better then, not sure why really!
Might need to cap Rtss at something like 119.95fps If that don't work.
I’ve done a ton of research on this. I have to enable GSYNC and V-Sync to stop any tearing occurring. With just Gysnc or VRR I get tearing in the middle of the screen. gysnc and vsync work every well together with the frames capped at -3 below displays refresh rate
